Reckless Cyclist

Sometimes some cyclists will cycle like as if they own the road. They might not even be aware that a car is behind them so they might not give way to vehicles...so drivers must take extra caution and becareful!

Not only along the road. On two separate occassions, the respective drivers realized too near an obstruction after parking. Hee to exit through the front passenger door. [lipsrsealed]

Couldn't you have just readjusted the car instead of getting out through the passenger door since you are already in the car?

The problem with cyclists is although you have checked both sides at the crossing, they just pop out from nowhere at break neck speed when you start to accelerate . . . .so far in 8 years of driving I have encountered only ONE girl (about 12 years old) wheeling her bike across the pedestrian crossing.

Typical cyclist with accident-proof mindset all dressed in black at night. [thumbsdown]

Sorry to say but it is not a typical cyclist. Feel free to call him a CB cyclist but he is not typical. It is these KNNCCB cyclist that we can live without and have 1 less.

At least he has lights. Have you seen those who wear dark clothes and have no lights at all? I have ever seen TP stop a group of them who were riding out of a construction site. All wearing dark clothes with no lights.

Along the stretch of Admiralty Road West at night is very dangerous, lots of FW riding without lights and some of them simply cycle here and there without looking out for cars

I personally will cut some slack to those FWs riding bicycle. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt in that there is a cultural difference and also bicycle lights are easy to steal and can be 'expensive' (subjective)

TP probably needs to engage their employers to educate them on how to cycle safely in Singapore.

My frustration is fellow cyclist who know the rules and blatantly ignore it that pisses me off. I am no saint either but I have read that TP has started taking action against 'errant' cyclist. Probably in future, it will be a mandatory rule that cyclist using the road need to carry identification.

Tp is taking action already. Seen them standing around at those popular cycling routes looking out for bicycles that don't follow traffic rules.

I've seen a few of these electrical bike cyclists being pulled over by TP for questioning along the road. I think the cyclist will get tangkap back to the station as I only see the bike being left behind at the scene thereafter.

I say keep up the good work.

I think it is these e-bikes that get tangkap back to the station. Look up for guideline on e-bikes. Any e-bikes w/o inspection centre seal is illegal & will be confiscated.

Yep, there's an operation going on to catch those illegal electric bicycles.

Last friday there was a massive operation at Geylang. Saw at least 10 TP and LTA bikes stopping electric bicycles.

Yesterday also saw 1 ah pek with electric bicycle kenna stopped by LTA and TP bike along Upper Changi Road.

Hope they catch more of those ah bengs with illegal electric bicycles lighted with LED lights riding damn fast. At night, can see many when I am driving Uber.

They should just raid a particular shop at Geylang selling it.

The bicycle and e-bike shop below my place is running a thriving business. Can see lots of an boys and ah peks at the shop doing mods to their bikes. Got those super high Harley handles type one, so happening siol.
