For heaven's sake, that is a 3000cc turbo diesel Toyota Dyna.

 

The 2400cc Toyota Hilux is slower in acceleration than the Dyna.

The 3000cc Dyna could have sent him to Cloud 9, arriving in heaven.

Toyota Hilux 2.4L has 400NM torque from 1.6k RPM.

 

Toyota Hilux 2.8L has 450NM torque from 1.6k RPM.

 

Honestly, i am not sure which 1 is slower.

Technically, this is the correct way to cycle on the roads.

 

The more experienced cyclist will “shield” the less experienced one by positioning in the middle of left lane.

 

By right, it is safer for the cyclists to take one lane than for them to squeeze to yellow lines. But SG drivers do not recognise this correct way of cycling on the roads.

 

Lorry driver really should not have driven so close to overtake. Else just be patient lor.

It is hard to explain to driver who don cycle, likewise it is hard to explain to a cyclist who don drive.

 

For me when i ride i always look behind or use my ear to hear any abnormal revving. I always give way. For example at traffic junction, i don get to the front but stay behind any vehicle that reached before me. For any chance that i infront at the junction, when moving off i always keep to my left, to the pedestrian crossing path so those cars can pass me safely. At junction I always slow down especially if no car along side to shield me from right turning vehicles.

 

Just be patience as a driver and cyclist, no medal to be won but maybe a tombstone await you.

For me when i ride i always look behind or use my ear to hear any abnormal revving. I always give way. For example at traffic junction, i don get to the front but stay behind any vehicle that reached before me. driver see cyclist a nuisance ... honk cannot overtake also leceh

cyclist see driver a hazard and have the mentality “got balls hit me la” ... i report to police ...

hence, both need to KEEP CALM ... hehe

the above case is a classic example of

1 rash rider + 1 rash driver = ho say liao

 

imho, cyclist should protect themself and ride “responsibly”

this will definitely avoid a lot of confrontations

 

i know it’s not fair but i would say cyclist is the “trigger” for most of the accidents

 

1. cyclist dont follow traffic rules. red light also cheong

2. cyclist keep straight on the left turn lane

3. cyclist always yaya want to start in front of a car in traffic light

4. cyclist swing left right like he can sprint like Usain Bolt

5. cyclist underestimate the patience of a driver [laugh]

Dyna is a lorry which is meant to carry load. How can the torque from 3200rpm? Come on...

 

It’s 300nm from 1200rpm to 3200rpm. 300nm/1200-3200rpm.

 

The pickup is fast and I have driven both the Dyna and Cabstar when doing delivery.

I agree with you and that’s the way I cycle too.

 

But the defensive riding considerations especially with inexperienced cyclists one is guarding is to ride in the middle of the lane to make drivers switch lanes when overtaking. An accident can easily occur when drivers are overtaking cyclists in the same lane, especially concerning inexperienced cyclists.

 

Nonetheless, for impatient drivers or those in a rush (at least 30% of al drivers), no point using body to block them. Safer to give way to them.
