    Tuned Volvo D2

Hi all Has anyone tuned their D2 engine? RaceChip or tuners Thanks for sharing.
  2. Proof that Volvo's can be tuned AF! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-7i_GZZ3Us&feature=youtu.be
  3. While Mazda's newly revealed MX-5 already looks good as it is, many photoshop pros have seem to have worked their magic and rendered their own MX-5 build. Check them out! 1. Rendered by Eric Shell 2. Rendered by JONSIBAL. A set of RS Watanabe with some bolt on flares and a front lip can do wonders in my opinion! 3. Rendered by X-Tomi 4. Rendered by Car Throttle on how the MPS version should look like. Almost perfect for me. 5. Rendered by Oillie Evans and James Eades. A 10/10 for me. Mazda needs to give us a fastback version of the MX-5 and a matching ducktail spoiler ASAP. So which one is your favourite? Let us know!
  4. Anyone who loves carbon fibre will probably love the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 CARBONADO GT by MANSORY. MANSORY practically took every non carbon fibre body panel of the car and swapped it with carbon fibre. Keen to showcase the amount of carbon fibre it has, it even leaves the centre part of the car clear. One of the biggest exterior change is its new front skirt with optimised air intakes for improved ventilation of the front radiator. Its sides have also grown by 40mm at the front and 50mm at the rear. New diffuser built into the new rear spoiler stabilises the rear at high speeds and creates surface contact pressure together with the enlarged rear wing on the rear axle also. To match its extreme look, MANSORY gave it enough power to back up its look. Fitted with two MANSORY turbochargers, new pistons, connecting rods, rod bearings, crankshaft, crank and cylinder, it now puts out a humongous 1,600bhp and an electronically-limited torque of 1,200Nm. We assume the limiter was there to protect itself from killing its gearbox! This accelerates the bi-turbo V12 from 0-100km/h in a scant 2.1 seconds. The top speed is an eye-watering 370km/h. Fast enough I hope?
  5. Like most Singaporeans, I love sedans more than other body styles. Yes. I know most of the younger generation like hatches now, so yup, you can call me old. Oh well. We all know Evos, which is also called the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in full, are fast and effective as a weapon for the road. No doubt assisted by its complex all-wheel drive drivetrain and turbocharged 2.0-litre engine. Recently, a good friend of mine told me he knew of a nicely done up Evo 9, so with me loving Evos, I paid a visit to Playtune Performance's Evo 9 GSR... Bronze Volk Racing RE-30 rims sitting nicely flushed with the body while Toyo R888s tires make sure the car holds onto its cornering lines well on the track. Project MU rotors and Biltz MR-VS brake pads provide the necessary braking power. Varis carbon lip enhances the car's look while also providing some additonal downforce for the front. Tougher looking Apexi N1 exhaust system makes sure back pressure is reduced. Moving inside, it is clear the owner only means business. Everything additional was there for a reason. A full carbon print interior impressed me! Overall, a nice and neat cabin. Surprisingly, the steering remained stock. I was expecting some Nardi or OMP. GReddy Profec boost controller made sure boost stayed at 1.4bar during this shoot. We hear it can go up to 2.0bar for maximum attack. Yummy. Defi BF gauges provide the necessary info when driving hard. Another look at the Carbon print on the dash. Air fuel ratio another useful number to keep an eye out for. Car gets going very fast once needle passes 4,000rpm. Now the interesting part...Headline figures are 528bhp and 672Nm of torque. All thanks to a 2.3-litre stroker kit plus other parts from Tomei. Walbro 255L fuel pump, SARD fuel regulator plus RC 850cc injectors provide the correct amount of fuel for the engine. Cosworth inlet and exhaust valves plus stage 3 high cam shafts feature also. Of course, the engine block has also been bored and its cylinder head skimmed, ported and polished to squeeze more out from the engine. Garrett GT 3071R here looking impressive! Koyorad intercooler for this Evo9. Battery has been shifted to the back to make sure weight distribution is more equal. Love the attention to detail. Surprised to see a 12-litre STi water tank here in the boot which is used to cool the intercooler. This is probably the only major standard part that has not been changed but of course owner plans to get this rectified with a better coilover system and lower arms for leisure track work. Much thought and effort has been put into improving his car and with the help of Playtune Performance, this Evo has turned into one well-balanced street ride. 6. Recently, we chanced upon a comparsion article where a few of the current and best hot hatches went head to head with each other. What caught my attention was that Volkswagen’s Golf GTI was faster in a straight line to 100km/h and 160km/h as compared to its peers; the Megane 265 Cup and Focus ST. That said, the tested GTI had the Performance Package and DSG, which meant around 227bhp (7bhp more than what we get locally). A little digging on the net revealed that owners of the new GTI have little or no problems keeping up with modified previous generation GTIs. Could it be that Volkswagen underrated the GTI’s output? We estimate it might actually be producing around 250bhp. On another note, if you need more power, one can always opt for a tune up from Oettinger. They claim to be able to make your GTI produce up to 350bhp with the help of a sport exhaust system, new intercooler and new custom air intakes. We believe they will also be changing the mapping of your ECU to help optimise the available potential from the latest EA888 engine. Other upgrades available include Oettinger’s aerodynamic package, which consists of a front spoiler with separate splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear roof spoiler. In addition to the sonorous exhaust system with twin tailpipes either side, the strikingly designed roof spoiler with open R-Flaps provides a sporty stance.
  7. Are you an owner of a VW Scirocco? Does yours look any cooler than this one? This tuned VW Scirocco has been spotted in China quite recently. But why the VW Scirocco? Well, it's probably because in China, they say that this particular model from the German automaker Volkswagen is often fancied by Chinese young men with tight pants. So, while the body of the car retains its originality
  8. It seems that there are some car owners out there who just can't take any shred of criticism about their cars...even if the criticism is shared by many... Over the weekend, I woke up to find a rather humourous email (titled: wildest Z on the planet) from Jim Deaubler about how much he doesn't appreciate what I said about the 350Z Roadster in a review I wrote about the 370Z Roadster. Here's the email from Jim Deaubler... "I thought I would drop you a line on the comments that were made about my car. First of all, before you print your b-------t get the facts straight. The car was on ebay 2 times and the 2nd time ended up with a $32,005 bid which did not meet the reserve. When someone uses the word ABSURD I find it offensive especially coming from people like you and what you drive, The fact is the car had 78 bids and 43 bidders. I would love to see what you drive or have built. My car goes from 0-60 in 4.0 seconds and has a top speed of 188mph all documented by Sears Point Raceway. What does your do.? I really could car less about your comments ..I just look at the source...but what does bother me is when you don't get your facts correct. Maybe you should start writing for the Hollywood gossip mags since a lot of your comments are not based on fact. Have a great day and maybe some day you will read and get the facts correct before you decide to sit down and shoot your mouth off about something you don't know about." As you can see, Jim rambled on about how his car goes a million miles per hour and how everyone on eBay is tripping over themselves to buy it off him. Well...congratulations Jim for having such a cool ride. I'm sure your million horsepower machine would put a Mach 2.5 F-15 to shame. Even so, my opinions about the 350Z remains. It still looks like a coupe missing its roof and the interior is tackier than it should be for a premier sports car from Nissan. That said, as mentioned in my review. The 370Z has made up for everything that was wrong with the 350Z and more. Unfortunately though, the 3.5-litre V6 in the 350Z still gives a better sound and I think Jim should be glad about that. I do feel complimented by Jim's email. For one, I'm happy that if my review garners this sorta response, I'm probably doing something right. Secondly, I'm happy that my readership spreads as far as the US. Nevertheless I do have a small tip for Jim. I'll be careful driving 188mph on Sears Point Raceway though. Lest your magnificent machine connects with the wall. Then again, the 350Z might look better after that.
  9. PPI Ice - Audi Q7 Widescreen Wallpaper Collection PPI Automotive Design is well known Audi tuner, based primary on visual beautification. Once again they made astonishing work! They got their hands on Audi Q7, the most powerful looking SUV on the car market and the result is obvious - one more tuned version - PPI Ice. More pictures and informations on LINK.
  10. IMHO, if you really want to get good FC, the best way is to get your ECU tuned and don't drag your gears! Cause Factory ECU is never tuned for 1 specific car and always on the safe side. You should get the ECU tuned to match local condition and your driving style. Most of the people tuned for more power but actually it can be done for FC as well. 1. Reduce your fuel enrichment time under warm up. Our engines always run rich when its cold to make it warm up the engine faster. This time period can actually be reduced. 2. Throttle enrichment. When you step on the throttle, the ECU will spray more fuel than necessary so you get better acceleration. If you are better light on the throttle, can actually set ECU to reduce amt of fuel injected. Get less power but you don't need it under light throttle conditions. This is also why its better to travel at the same speed than accelerate and brake and accelerate again. Throttle enrichment...... 3. Highway cruising. Can actually set the engine to run lean when cruising. But make sure its well tuned else there may pinging. 4. For manual cars, don't drag your gears! If no power, shift down. Running at higher RPM is actually better. I realise when I go up slope on 4th gear, the engine runs rich because of heavy engine load and low RPM. Once I shift down to 3rd, the engine turns to stoichiometric ratio. This can be set in ECU as well. This is what I have observed. IMHO, all the moddings except for CAI (Not open pod, just ducting to draw cooler air outside engine bay) hardly benefits anything in terms of FC. Its ECU tuning that really makes a difference.

  13. Heard somewhere that there are only 4 of them in SG. What makes them special compare to ordinary Celica?
  14. A tuned Z4, the ACS4 i think. A 3.0i Z4 supercharged upgrade, at 295 HP. Check our the interior and weird but cool looking "grill" that replaces the BMW emblem at the sides.
  15. Mitsubishi Motors showcases Ralliart concepts And aftermarket-tuned vehicles at 2004 Sema Trade Show Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. showcased Ralliart concepts based on its popular Galant sedan and Endeavor SUV at the 2004 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) tradeshow. With the unveiling of these Ralliart concept vehicles, the company marked its fifth consecutive year as an exhibitor at the SEMA show, the world's premier automotive specialty products trade event. Both Ralliart concepts were designed in Mitsubishi Motors' design center in Cypress, Calif. Mitsubishi Motors is displaying a total of seven vehicles in its booth, including the new Lancer Evolution MR and tuned versions of Lancer, Eclipse and Lancer Evolution. Mitsubishi models customized by other exhibitors also will be on display throughout the show. Ralliart is the motorsports arm of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. Worldwide, Ralliart vehicles feature enhanced performance, specialty equipment and sporty styling elements, such as more powerful engines, sport-tuned suspensions as well as special fascia and styling treatments. Galant Ralliart Concept (Still ugly to me, IMHO) The Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart concept embodies the definition of a Ralliart model. The concept vehicle features the same powerful 3.8-liter MIVEC high-output, 260 horsepower (hp) engine that will be available on the 2006 Eclipse, as well as the coupe's 6-speed manual transmission. The Galant Ralliart concept vehicle sits on 19 by 8.5 Racing Hart F10 wheels, 245/40/19 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires, Ralliart exhaust, as well as a custom cold air intake system and coilover springs suspension from Road Race Engineering. A rear stabilizer bar, front and rear strut braces, and Brembo's 4-piston brake kit (front) and custom cross-drilled rotors (back) complete the mechanical modifications. Regarding the Galant Ralliart concept exterior, PIAA driving lamps, show car-quality paint, a metal mesh grille with Ralliart logo, as well as custom-integrated rear spoiler, front and rear fascia and side skirt, immediately make it clear that this is a special ride. The Galant Ralliart concept also features a custom interior, including coordinated carpeting and leather. Comfort and appearance are enhanced with Recaro® front driver and passenger seats, Ralliart shift knob, and Logitech driving simulator steering wheel and pedal set. Even a Recaro® baby seat has been added for the enthusiast family man. Sparco race helmets, as well as 4-point race harness (two sets), driving gloves and driving shoes are all compliments of SuperAutobacs. Endeavor Ralliart Concept Mitsubishi Motors gave a similar Ralliart treatment to the Endeavor. The new 3.8-liter MIVEC high-output engine provides 260 hp, and the popular midsize sport utility vehicle rides on 20 by 8.5 Enkei LM1/5S wheels and 275/40/20 Falcon tires with a SuperAutobacs grounding kit. A five-speed automatic transmission, modified exhaust system and Road Race Engineering custom cold air intake and coilover suspension enhance performance, as do Brembo 4-piston brakes (front) and custom cross-drilled rotors (rear). Visually, the Endeavor Ralliart concept vehicle stands out by incorporating PIAA driving lamps with factory-tinted headlamps, show car quality paint, a metal mesh grille with Ralliart logo and custom front and rear fascia and side skirt. Inside the vehicle, drivers will appreciate a custom interior including coordinated carpeting and leather. Recaro® front seats, Ralliart pedals, Logitech driving simulator steering wheel and pedal set and a custom shift knob all contribute to an enhanced interior appearance. Knowing that the performance enthusiast demands the latest in technology, this Endeavor Ralliart concept is equipped with a Pioneer AVIC-80DVD navigation system and an Eclipse stereo system with speakers installed by SuperAutobacs. For pure fun and entertainment, a Sony Playstation 2 system running on a 30" Mitsubishi LCD monitor is also a key feature. 2004 Lancer Ralliart Another exciting vehicle featured at the Mitsubishi booth is a 2004 Lancer Ralliart, customized with a range of Mitsubishi genuine accessories available at any Mitsubishi dealership. This Lancer Ralliart exterior features body color-coordinated rear-wing spoiler with a graphite-look blade; acrylic hood protector and side window air deflectors; stainless steel scuff plates with Ralliart logo on the front door thresholds; and mirror-polished stainless steel accent for the tailpipe and roof spoiler with Vortex winglets to enhance appearance and reduce drag. Inside the Lancer Ralliart, sport meter gauges (voltage, temperature and vacuum) match the instrument panel; with aluminum sport pedals completing the package. Lancer Evolution MR Edition (YEE-HA!!!!!) Also at the Mitsubishi booth is a Lancer Evolution MR Edition, featuring a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder intercooled-turbocharged engine that delivers 276 hp at 6500 rpm. The MR Edition is the highest-performance, street-legal Lancer Evolution, with a newly-standard Active Center Differential and front Limited Slip Differential, which work with Sports ABS to create a more natural, better-mannered driving feel. Strong fin-design BBS® forged aluminum wheels are exclusive on the MR Edition, and the vortex generator at the trailing edge of the roof creates small vortices that reduce drag and increase the down force generated by the rear-deck spoiler. Styling inside the Lancer Evolution MR Edition is consistent with the exterior design: aluminum shift knob; aluminum and carbon fiber brake lever handle; aluminum pedals; sport meter gauge kit with three gauges (boost, voltage, oil pressure) clustered in the center stack; and a stainless steel plate embossed in red with the MR designation. Moriyama Concept Eclipse Several Mitsubishi vehicles tuned by other exhibitors are in this year's Mitsubishi SEMA booth. Among these is the Moriyama Concept Eclipse, the result of collaboration between Mitsubishi, Pepsi, RJ de Vera and Shawn Williams. This vehicle, an Eclipse concept vehicle customized with inspiration from Pepsi spokesmodel Eri Moriyama, has been touring the nation at all "Hot Import Nights" events. The Moriyama Concept Eclipse captures the eye immediately with its Lamborghini Diablo Pink paint job and carbon fiber accents. Sitting atop massive 20-inch Motegi Racing wheels and BFG Goodrich tires, the vehicle is tuned with full intake and exhaust systems, as well as a N/X direct port nitrous set up. Inside the Moriyama Concept Eclipse, comfort and entertainment reign with Sparco seats, steering wheel and shift knob. Seven television screens as well as an audio system featuring three subwoofers, three powerful amps and front and rear staging units complete this outstanding project car. Pepsi Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (Taking things too far,IMHO) Another featured vehicle included the Pepsi Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII 2004 Sweeps Concept Car, a collaboration between Mitsubishi Motors, RJ de Vera and Pepsi. This special Lancer Evolution concept vehicle reinforces the Lancer's reputation for high performance and aggressive styling, with a variety of enhancements. A Veilside VS-GT full aero kit and Evo VIII VS-GT wing give the vehicle a cutting-edge, sporty appearance, as does a Versus Motorsports carbon hood and graphics from Auto Indulgence. Performance is boosted with a DC sports exhaust system, AEM intake system, Denso iridium power spark plugs and an Eibach suspension kit. Black suede-wrapped Recaro seats with matching panels and a carbon-style dash and power window trim package add extra flair to the interior of this Lancer Evolution concept car. The interior, which was customized by Street Concepts, also boasts a Veilside shifter and a full audio system with Pioneer CD/tuner head unit, Infinity front and rear stage speakers, Infiniti subwoofers and JBL amplifiers. AMS installed the audio system in a trunk enclosure with neon lighting.
  16. Dear All Matrixers, After driving Matrix for 2 months done 3500km. The spacious and interior is thump up. But... Still find this baby - suspension is too firm tuned. Lost composure on uneven road and create bumping sound due to the firm suspension. Not so pleasing to hear at. Any body have idea how to improve this? Read the forum in Taiwan and S'pore, they have the same compaint too. Beside the ride composure, everything is just fine.
