  1. <Noble M500 Supercar Packs EcoBoost V6 With a Gated Manual and No Airbags Don't count on anti-lock brakes to save you, either. Boutique British automaker Noble has reappeared with a fresh look at its long-coming supercar, the M500. Marketed as a slightly more tame version of its M600, the mid-engine sports coupe was first announced at Goodwood in 2018. When the hype faded, the world kind of forgot about the M500...until now. Recently, Noble broke its silence during a sitdown with Autocar. Noble’s Managing Director Peter Boutwood revealed how far the company has come in finalizing the M500, and how close the brand is in bringing the low-volume exotic to market. VIA NOBLE Just like its more powerful (and expensive) M600 brethren, the M500 is a two-seater, mid-engine sports coupe built to satisfy the person in the driver's seat—which is a Recaro Podium, by the way. The heart of the car is its 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 sourced from Ford; a definite departure from the M600's Volvo-bred V8. Presently, the Blue Oval's EcoBoost motor has been tweaked to produce 506 horsepower and 594 pound-feet of torque. Noble plans to up that figure to 550 hp at launch. Another change—arguably, for the better—is the lack of the originally promised dual-clutch automatic transmission in the M500. Instead, it will come with a proper gated six-speed manual transmission sourced from Graziano. No automatic option will be offered, period. Autocar warns that this means it likely won't have the straight-line acceleration figures of a supercar competitor with an automatic transmission, so don't bet on this against a McLaren 570S. Even still, it ought to be plenty fun to drive. Just about everything on the M500 is as mechanical as it can get. Each corner is supported by a double-wishbone suspension and coilover springs paired with passive dampers. Power steering is hydraulic to keep the driver connected to the road, and it doesn't even have anti-lock brakes or airbags. Noble elaborates that this M500 is a "working prototype" and as such, some things are still set to change. The rear wing might get a bit more angle once it completes high-speed testing, and it may fluctuate in poundage like a wrestler trying to make weight. The M500 prototype presently tips the scale at around 3,086 pounds (1,400kg), but its production-ready version could reportedly shave off another 330 pounds. Noble says it will also offer the M500 with some carbon fiber upgrades, meaning that the weight could dip down even further. VIA NOBLE Noble says that despite not having an MSRP set in stone, the first customer orders—and subsequently, deliveries—will begin later this year. Boutwood says that the company is aiming for a price of around $205,000 (150,000 British Pounds, or around $70,000 less than the Noble M600), which it hopes puts the car in the realm of purchase for Porsche owners. With a less labor-intensive build and (relatively) more affordable price, Nobel hopes to pump out around 50 examples of the M500 each year. However, the chance of any making their way to the United States seems slim for now.>
  2. The Smax and Galaxy ecoboost will be officially launch this weekend!have fun as i test drove it already!the powershift gearbox is fantastic!!!

  4. The ecoboost version finally hit our shores. This version looks more like a facelift as it's still using the same chassis. The front grille has that Aston Martin look and it does take sometime to get used to. But it's the 1.0l turbo ecoboost engine that is the most interesting part of the addition. Although it's 100ps but with a torque of 170nm, it's sure to have a decent pickup and drivability. The fc is about 20kml but I'd be happy if it can get 18kml in local roads. But I'm curious why they are bringing in the 100ps version instead of the 125ps version of the engine? Both are still 1.0l and both will still be cat A. The 125ps is definitely more drivable and will give the golf and polo a run of their money! Think it's around 110k now and hope se will throw in some discount. Anyone eyeing this?
  5. While buyers don't really care much about a commercial vehicle's century sprint timing, it is still nice to know how fast your vehicle is compared to its rivals. Or in this case, its brothers in the family. According to Consumer Reports, which prides itself in professional testing of products which anyone can buy, discovered a surprising find within Ford's recently launched aluminum-bodied truck F150 truck line-up. Usually, it is a given that the base variant is slower than the bigger-engined variant in the same line-up but in Ford's case, the smaller-engined model proved to be the faster one. Producing 325bhp and 508Nm of torque, the 2.7-litre V6 turbo manages to hit 100km/h from a standstill in 7.0 seconds while the 365bhp 3.5-litre V6 turbo can only do the same sprint in 7.2 seconds. It produces 569Nm of torque. Unfortunately for tech geeks like me, the video does not explain the reason or reasons behind this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZO07pH3FICY

  7. Ford launched the 2014 Mondeo (Fusion) at the Shanghai Motor Show in April with a brand new 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine. The 1.5-litre engine benefits from the signature EcoBoost turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing. Now, Ford has officially announced the output of the new power plant. It produces 178bhp with an accompanying 240Nm of torque available between 1500rpm to 4500rpm. Fuel consumption figures are not available at the moment. Power is similar to the existing 1.6-litre EcoBoost but torque figure is 9Nm lower. The 1.6-litre EcoBoost in the six-speed automatic Fusion will be replaced by the new 1.5-litre EcoBoost. However, the six-speed manual version will still continue to use the existing 1.6-litre engine. But in time to come, it is likely that the 1.6-litre will be phased out eventually as it does not make sense to produce two engines that are so similar in specifications concurrently. The new 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine will be built at Ford's plant in Craiova, Romania.
  8. Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine has won the "International Engine of the Year" award for the second consecutive year. Not only that, the turbocharged, direct-injection three-cylinder engine achieved the highest score in the 15 year history of the awards. "With a technology as mature as the internal combustion engine, it's very rare to achieve a true breakthrough, but that is exactly what the team accomplished with this engine," said Joe Bakaj, Ford Vice President, Global Powertrain. "You have to drive it to believe a small three-cylinder engine can deliver such performance and fuel economy." A panel of 87 automotive journalists from 35 countries around the world judged the awardees based on drivability, performance, economy, refinement and the successful application of advanced engine technology. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine is currently offered in cars such as Fiesta, B-MAX and the Focus. In the near future, it will also power larger cars including the new Ford Mondeo. The rest of the award winners are as follows: New Engine Ford three-cylinder turbo (Focus) Green Engine General Motors 1.4-litre range extender (Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera) Performance Engine Ferrari 4.5-litre V8 (458 Italia) Sub 1.0-litre Ford three-cylinder turbo (Focus) 1.0-litre to 1.4-litre Volkswagen 1.4-litre TSI Twincharger 1.4-litre to 1.8-litre BMW-PSA 1.6-litre turbo gasoline 1.8-litre to 2.0-litre BMW 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder gasoline 2.0-litre to 2.5-litre Audi 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo (TT RS, RS3 Sportback) 2.5-litre to 3.0-litre BMW 3.0-litre bi-turbo six-cylinder (1 Series M Coupe, 335is, Z4 35is) 3.0-litre to 4.0-litre BMW M 4.0-litre V8 (BMW M3) Above 4.0-litre Ferrari 4.5-litre V8 (458 Italia)
  9. [extract] To tell you the truth, the American automaker Ford actually planned to market the Ford Fiesta facelift in December last year. However, as it turned out, it was but too much an ambition as the model actually made its debut one month after in the hometown of panda, China. Built by Ford in collaboration with the Chinese Chang
  10. When it comes to exotic performance cars, many would not expect a country like Mexico to manufacture such models. But in fact, there is a small company there, that builds sports cars - known as Mastretta Cars. Currently, the company has only one sports car model which is the MXT (above) and recently, they have unveiled a more hardcore version of the MXT; the MXT-R. Aesthetically, there are not many differences between the MXT-R and its standard sibling. The MXT-R is fitted with a front splitter, a huge spoiler at the back and aerodynamic side skirts. The added exterior modifications are hugely inspired by a track-only model, known as the MXR, that the company is scheduled to release at the end of this year, The MXT-R is powered by a 2.0-litre Ford Ecoboost engine that delivers around 300bhp and the engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission. Although other performance figures were not revealed, the car is said to be able to complete the century sprint in less than 5.5 seconds. The car
  11. The above video is a detailed review of the 2013 Ford Fusion EcoBoost. The Fusion is a mid-sized sedan for the American market. Why bother with a car not destined for Singapore, you may ask. Unlike the previous generation Fusion, the latest model is actually a twin sibling of the all-new Ford Mondeo. When the new Mondeo arrives in Singapore, the 1.6-litre EcoBoost will likely be the best selling variant due to the local consumers' "Big body, small engine" mentality. The video starts with a walkaround over the car's exterior followed by the interior, paying close attention to details such as the styling cues and plastic quality. The review ends with a test drive in a local town. You can hear the sporty note of the force-fed lump in the cabin of the vehicle. The main difference between the Mondeo and the Fusion is that the US model is equipped with a torque-convertor automatic transmission whereas the Mondeo is fitted with the more advanced six-speed dual-clutch Powershift.
  12. Ford is recalling 89,153 units of the 1.6-litre EcoBoost-equipped Fusion and Escape models due to fire hazard risk in North America. The engine may overheat and cause fire in the engine compartment. This is the third recall involving the 1.6-litre turbocharged lump. The brand new 2013 Fusion accounts for 15,833 units of the recalled vehicles. Ford confirmed that there have been new reports of these engines overheating, resulting in fires while the engine is running. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The affected vehicles' instrument clusters may display warning notifications "Engine Power Reduced to Lower Temps" or "Engine over temp, stop safely." The blue oval company is currently working on a repair procedure and has advised owners to stop driving these affected vehicles. EcoBoost is a family of turbocharged, direct injected gasoline engines produced by the Ford Motor Company and co-developed by FEV engineering. The 1.6-litre EcoBoost is currently not available in Singapore's Ford lineup. However, the Volvo S60 and S80 T4 are powered by the motor.

Perhaps to prove that their 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine is truly a compact unit, Ford chose to transport it in a hand-carry cabin luggage on its way from Detroit to the Los Angeles Airport. The winner of the 2012 'International Engine of The Year' award claims to occupy only the footprint of an A4 size paper when it was launched. From the photo, only the empty engine block is carried and hence it should not be too heavy. Fortunately, the car engine passed the transportation security screening without any problem. The engine is on its way for the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. Ford is showing the engine to the US market in preparation for its launch in the 2014 model year Ford Fiesta. The tiny turbocharged 1.0-litre engine is the epitome of downsizing, churning out 125bhp with 200Nm of torque on overboost. In addition to the face-lifted Fiesta, the engine is also powering the Focus hatchback and the 4.8m all-new Ford Mondeo. Ford proves that great things do come in small packages!
  14. At the recent 2012 Paris Motor Show, Ford showed the world the face-lifted Fiesta hatchback. Now, the blue oval brand revealed its sedan cousin at the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil. Like the hatchback version, the Fiesta sedan sports an Aston Martin-inspired grille. The revised car has narrower headlights and newly styled taillights. Although no interior images were released but one can expect changes made to the instrument cluster, steering wheel and door panels for the 2013 Fiesta hatchback to feature in the sedan version as well. Detail regarding the sedan
  15. The Ford Focus RS is one mean performance machine. In standard form, the car delivers 300bhp with 440Nm of torque and it can complete the century sprint in less than six seconds. For those who crave for more power, they can opt for the Ford Focus RS500. Its power has been upgraded to 345bhp with a torque of 460Nm and with a 0-100km/h timing of 5.6 seconds. Now it seems that the next standard Ford Focus RS will be even more powerful than the previous model's top grade sub-model. It is reported that the new model will get 350bhp, a whopping 50bhp from the previous generation model. Earlier reported this year, the car was said to get around 320bhp but the automaker has managed to churn out a little more. All that power will come from Ford

The hot hatch segment has grew rapidly over the last few years and today, these cars are able to deliver performance that was not imaginable in the small hatch segment roughly ten years ago. The performance of larger sized hot hatches are moving towards the sports car category and the space left behind are being taken up by a new generation of performance orientated subcompacts. And Ford has presented the all new 2013 Ford Fiesta ST as part of this new generation. Ford has released pictures of a production ready version of the 2013 Ford Fiesta which the company will unveil during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It is confirmed that the car will be launched first in the European market by 2013. The previous Fiesta ST was last offered in 2008 and fans of the car were clamouring for a new model ever since. Ford didn
  20. Performance cars usually rely on large displacement engines that deliver high power. But technologies such as turbocharging and direct injection have changed things nowadays and Ford is looking at a more powerful version of its 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine. Ford officially introduced its 1.0 litre turbocharged three cylinder EcoBoost engine late last year. It was developed by Ford engineers in the United Kingdom and the engine generates around 123bhp. The engine will be used in the Ford Focus and a 100bhp version will be introduced in Ford models such as the C-Max, Grand C-Max and B-Max. Normally, we won

  23. Ford has decided to combine the American market Fusion model and the global Mondeo model into a single model. A few days after the Fusion was released at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, here we have the first official photos of the pre-production 2013 European Ford Mondeo. Like the Fusion, the new Mondeo sports an Aston Martin-like front grille that looks to swallow up competitors such as the Passat and Insignia. The European model differentiates itself from its American counterpart with a slightly different headlamp assembly and a body-coloured rear bumper trim. I particularly like the ducktail-like boot which bears shades of the Lamborghini Aventador. In Europe, the all new Mondeo will be offered with the 1.6L and 2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged petrols along with a range of diesel units. In the US, the 1.6L and 2.0L petrol versions produce 179bhp/233Nm and 237bhp/338Nm respectively. The Mondeo
