  1. The video below sadden me more than a bit: It just does not feel right about what we have been doing. But what to do? We need all the resources to build our infrastructures and buildings. But lets be mindful of the costs to other countries, whether we pay them fairly or not is another matter altogether. Our action is causing other people hardship, and that just feel terrible.
  2. Delivery in progress, back in 10 minutes I see these words permanently displayed in almost all commercial vehicles. I wonder if a delivery is actually in progress. Does it work to ward off the parking attendant? If it does, they'll save a large amount in parking fees each day. In fact, some trucks even have a nice plastic, commercially made sign displayed. Most do not return to the vehicle in 10 minutes, especially when they are enjoying their cup of kopi or lunch. Might want to get a similar sign to display on my car dashboard too if it works.

  4. I know this won't be of interest to most people, but being a car forum I'm guessing there might be one or two of you who might appreciate this on-going restoration thread of an F40 LM I came across. The attention to detail is astounding and the workmanship is just spectacular. http://www.build-threads.com/build-threads...lm-restoration/ The resto is at a stage where the car is starting to come back together and the best part is that the owner intends to drive/track the car once it's done.

  6. How I know? Because my Tiong Bahru area today flooded jialat jialat even though the previous passages of 50 years had spared my area.
  7. I have a 21 month old girl, by now she could recognize some shapes like stars, say 1 to 6, some animals name, a few alphabets. Bros here who are parents, want to ask is my kid's progress ok or not? What could your kid say or read at this age?
  8. it seems they are convincing more and turning the tables at the last min! The tears, apologies, chats is working !!!
  9. With the slew of conti-made 1.6L TC cars coming up, will Cat A COEs start to go up as "borderline" Cat B buyers who intended to buy Camry, Accord, etc migrating to the likes of A1, C5 & 508? I m sure there'll be more coming out and i won't be surprised if VW launches a passat (normal or CC) 1.4 sport. These borderline people have bigger budgets and can bid higher COEs pricing out the lower budget buyers. Jap cars (esp mazda, suzuki and subaru) and other low budget brands (proton, cherry, etc) will really suffer. their jan sales figures was already pathetic (i tink proton was like single digit sales). only toyota and honda will survive. koreans may survive on value but K5 pricing must drop.
  10. Spent the last weekend doing last minute spring cleaning and it was like doing a couple of IPPTs. Threw away at least 20 NTUC bags full of rubbish and all the unwanted stuff . . . should have taken leave today now body aching like mad Could have called up the cleaning company but from what I heard, they were fully booked a couple of weeks ago How's your progress? Now have to focus on cleaning up the car to make it gim gim and kut kut in time for CNY visits
  11. Planning 2 weeks ago to go to Bkk but because of the plan demonstrations, decided to go to Taipei during nexk week school holidays. Seem like had to postpone this plan again as Taipei (lucky me, haven't make confirmation booking), tens of thousands of ppl demonstrated against Ma Ying-Jeou. The demo at Bkk had lead to the closure of Phuket's airport and will it be the same for Taipei airport. Reported at CNA : Thousands rally against Taiwan's MaPosted: 30 August 2008 1736 hrs TAIPEI: Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Taipei Saturday to protest what they said was President Ma Ying-jeou's China-friendly policies and his failure to lift Taiwan's sagging economy. Braving the heat, the slogan-chanting demonstrators -- pro-independence activists and their sympathisers -- launched the island's first major rally against Ma since he took office on May 20. They demanded Hong Kong-born Ma step down over his conciliatory approach to China. The pro-independence rhetoric of his predecessor Chen Shui-bian of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) had irked Beijing. Look like will do with a short trip to Malacca instead so as fulfill promises to children......
