  1. Want to know more about The Grand Tour's James May? Here's a video of him answering some of his fans' questions. We wonder why does his fans want know things like "Have you stopped sweating from driving in China with no air con"... Anyway, the good news is that there are also normal and interesting ones like "what car must every car enthusiasts drive at least once in their life" and " What is the greatest supercar of all time". The answer might be predictable but still fun to know. Shot by DriveTribe, James May also divulges in the video what he would like to own in the future and what car excites him.
  2. Hi guys, Starting the v2.0 of this thread, since the previous one is full.
  3. Does your CO or MIL (or parents lol) always nag you for reckless driving? Even though you feel like it's too slow for you / you are in complete control always / you cut in and out of lanes safely? Liddat how? Do you just wayang when driving with them and unleash when solo? p.s. also applies to vice versa i.e. you feel that you are safe driver but CO complain you drive too slow Just a lighthearted post not meant to start any heated debates or flame wars. Hope you enjoyed your labour day! peace out
  4. Some Friday night food for thought... arguing with CO about my driving style is never ending. She feels that I drive too fast, too recklessly, whereas I feel confident in my ability and in control of the car. How to argue without seeming complacent? Is it complacent or arrogant to say I feel confident in my driving? Then the argument is that driving at lower speed will cause less damage if an accident happens, got more time to react..the usual..which is not wrong. So then why does anyone drive fast? What is "fast"? Why do carmakers make cars with different performance? Given that most countries have speed limits which are way below what a modern car is capable of, why bother to make a vehicle that can go above speed limits? If I were a bmw or merc exec, having studied the singapore car market, I would just make my cars with as small an engine as possible and limit the top speed to 90km/h. Singaporean badge whores (no offence meant here) would lap up my cars and I would be making huge margins by making consumers pay a premium for nothing more than the badge. Until truly autonomous cars become reality this would be the best way to go, no? Sorry for rambling...just wanna see what opinions there are out there. cheers
  5. Since young I've had random urges to open the door of a moving car. Technically I've done it before once when I was really young and got scolded by my parents. Ever since, I've had random temptations to do it every now and then but I would tell myself, no! It still happens now. I've also had random urges to let go of my motorcycle handlebar when riding at a certain speed and let it skid. I don't know if I can call it a voice, but there's just an inner voice telling me to "let it go". And then another part of me will tell myself "don't do it". Tall buildings and cliff edges, do you get that little voice inside your head to "just jump"? I do. Anyone with similar experiences? If yes, what's yours? Keep the thread clean thank you!
  6. to that silver (chevy?) which let a white 3er turn out ahead of him (at the exit of Jcube) though you have the right of way, a big thank you to you. would have gotten stuck there for quite awhile if you had not let me out. sorry i didnt wave a thank you, traffic was moving so i wanted to move off ASAP so as not be an obstruction. you probably wont see this but i just wanted to say thanks!
  7. Hi, Inspired by the mega Alfa thread on MCF, so I am starting a thread for those interested to talk about their ZC generation Swifts or any related/unrelated stuff. I know there are a few ZC owners here, like Lucaswh & BBSyah. Please pop right in and chip in with all your knowledge/nonsense! As an introduction, I am driving a MY2010 Swift 1.6M (ZC31) in Pearl White. Registered as an OPC and took delivery on 12/12/10. So far no mods, except for some lights for vanity reasons. Been enjoying the drive but the hard part is keeping the RPM below 4k for this run-in period and getting used to a NA manual! Lets see where this thread goes, shall we?
  8. 1. Did anyone see the accident on Saturday at exit of TPE to Punggol Way sliproad? Got one black MPV run into backside of sand lorry......that has to hurt, kinda like hitting a brick wall. 2. I edited the video of my daughter's 3rd birthday party over the weekend - she's now in P2 7. Wushu class was on Saturday, Taekwando is Friday night - which would you prefer your kids did? 8. I went to the Pasir Ris - Punggol Post Budget Dialogue on Sunday - all partisan politics aside, I must admit the DPM Teo spoke well and convincingly, thinking quickly on his feet 9. At the same forum, our speaker, Mr. Michael Palmer said that he would support some form of National Service for ladies (although this is an off the cuff remark and far from official policy) 10. Today I need to write 3 advertorials.
  9. 10. I've asked around, some friends say it's normal to have random ache or pain in the body (e.g. occasional tummy pain, leg/arms/back pain, etc) but some friends say they never have any pain. I think it has got to do with each person's level of tolerance or do you go see a doc if you have any pain?
  11. Anyone knows where to buy a cordless orbital, preferably small and light......performance is not an issue. My place is open car park, so bird dropping on the roof very often. After cleaning the dropping away, I usually wax the roof but quite tiring.

  14. HI Guys and Gals.. Just bought the B and D KP600 RO polisher last week and finally got to use it over the weekend. Took me at least 6 hours and need a massage now, haha. I will try and briefly describe the steps i took. 1. Shampoo with Megs Gold class shampoo 2. Claybar 3. Turtlewax swirl remover and buff off with KP600 4. Megs NXT Tech Wax and buff off with KP600 5. Megs #20 Polymer Sealant. Applied with foam applicator and wipe off with microfibre towel. I like this product as it leaves a nice glossy look on the surface although i am told the #21 is better. You can view the product on this URL. Just copy and paste. http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-liquid-car-wa...Polymer-Sealant 6. Finished off with NXT Speed Detailer for that extra glossy look.Spray on and wipe off. I am not sure if i should be putting any products over the #20 but i always liked the shine and gloss from the NXT Speed detailer. Any bros here can advice if my steps were right or wrong considering the products that i have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are the photos i stored in webshots. Wish i had a better camera. http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?act...security=FCnAaj
  15. Sometimes when I brake while reversing, I hear a horrible screeching sound. Something is definately scratching something else. The funny thing is that I cannot replicate this problem when I am at BM. The last time, they cleaned the discs but I am sure that this problem has something to do with the fact that the car is parked with the back wheels higher than the front wheels. Call me crazy but BM has no idea. Anyone with a similar experience or any advice ? I am driving a Toyota Vios 1.5S which I took in March this year.
