The driver of a Ranger Rover Velar was swerving left and right between two lanes and intentionally blocking the cam car from passing. As both cars started nearing the red light, the cam car driver gave two short honks to the Ranger Rover. It is unknown if there was a prior altercation between both parties. From the audio recording of the cam car, it seems that the cam car is a Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) driver with at least two passengers on board. After the two short honks, the male passenger could be heard telling the PHV driver the following: "If you guys want to fight, fight somewhere else, please. Let me get off first, please." After that, the other female passenger echoed similarly, saying: "Ya, let me get off." The PHV driver apologises to both passengers for his behaviour. Subsequently, after the atmosphere in the vehicle settled, both passengers could be heard encouraging the PHV driver to make a police report over this incident. There are four lanes on that road going straight, with the first lane being a "go straight or right turn" lane. If you watched carefully, the Range Rover drove through the cross-junction from lane 3 to 1. The PHV driver did something similar by driving through the cross-junction from lane 2 to lane 1, squeezing a Honda Stream to his right out of the way. As for the powertrains, most likely all of them will receive some form of electrification for improved efficiency and comply with the ever-stricter emission regulations. The base model will probably retain the current mild-hybrid inline-six 3.0-liter engine, while the most powerful variant is rumored to get a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter V8. The most popular option will probably be the plug-in hybrid version, thanks to the combination of a gasoline motor plus a sufficient electric range for daily use. We also expect a BEV variant for the first time in Range Rover’s history, which could lead the popular series into the future following the imminent ICE sales ban in Europe.

Land Rover is giving the Range Rover a special edition to mark the 50th anniversary of the nameplate’s debut in 1970. The Range Rover 50th-anniversary edition will be available in standard or long wheelbase and with a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine rated at 518 hp. It will be available in four colors, but the Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations division will offer small numbers of the vehicle painted in one of three additional heritage colors from the original 1970 Range Rover lineup: Tuscan Blue, Bahama Gold or Davos White. Land Rover will build just 1,970 Range Rover Fifty models for all global markets. Fewer than 400 are planned to be sold in North America.

We don’t know if you noticed it, but Landwind's, or rather Land Wind's, new X7 looks like the Range Rover Evoque – a lot, actually. And it couldn’t come at a worse time for Land Rover as the British firm just started production of the Evoque in China with its local partner Chery Automobile Company. We're not just talking about some vague similarities between the two SUVs, but a visually very close copy – go ahead, call it a clone, no one will blame you… Landwind is hosting the world premiere of the X7 at this week's 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show, but we've yet to hear any comments from Land Rover. The X7 shares its platform with Landwind's X5 SUV with power coming from a Mitsubishi-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 204PS (201hp) and 250Nm (184 lb-ft) of peak torque paired to either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic, according to Chinese media.

Some cars, like whisky, just get better with age and the Range Rover is certainly one of them. The mother of all SUVs that you see here has lost some 420kgs from its previous model, thanks to the lightweight all-aluminium monocoque body structure. From the beautifully grained leather to the metal finishing, the material selection and build quality is immaculate. Even the plastic and rubberised mouldings exude an impression of quality and luxury. With a formidable output of 503bhp and 625Nm of torque, throttle response from the 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged Rangie is lag-free while taking off from the line is monumental. The 0-100km/h timing of 5.4 seconds is formidably fast for an SUV. The Range Rover is like the sweet girl you knew back in secondary school, just that she has matured, lost a few pounds and has the right curves at the right places. She even carries herself with the kind of style that isn't overly exaggerated now. It just simply reminds you why you were attracted to her in the first place.

Instead, these thieves just seemed so proud of their 'stealing' ability that they even shot pictures of themselves with the cars they had successfully stolen. What amazes me more is that they even posted the pictures on Facebook, a world renowned social media, and on their phones! This led the local police to catch them red-handed, or should I say, 'bread-handed' (you'll see why). It's a real 'shame' to the world of Grand Theft Auto. UK off-road specialist, Bowler Motorsport and Land Rover have announced their long partnership official. Bowler has been making off-road machines which are powered by Land Rover for over twenty years and has, during that time, enjoyed a fair bit of support from Land Rover. The agreement is not the beginning of an all-new relationship between the two companies. Instead, it merely turns a decades-old informal collaboration into an official partnership. One of Bowler's early offerings was an ARC-spec prototype which uses a Land Rover chassis converted to coil springs with a twin-carb engine (pictured above). Dubbed "Powered by Land Rover," it is aimed to ensure that Bowler has easy access to drivetrains, spare parts and other crucial components to develop its rally-bound SUVs. The very first SUV to wear the "Powered by Land Rover" badge is Bowler's first ever road going model, the EXR S. Bowler EXR The EXR S is powered by a remapped version of the Range Rover Sport's supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine. It churns out 550bhp and 623Nm of torque, which is enough to propel the 1814kg SUV from 0-100km in 4.2 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that features steering wheel mounted shift paddles. Exteriorly, the EXR S looks like a two door variant of the Range Rover, a model that the company has not offered for quite some time. But don't be fooled by its ordinary looks. Under that shell, the EXR S rides on a race bred hydroformed chassis. It looks like the Land Rover Defender will keep soldering on in its current state for another 500 years so at the rate things are going. This to me is not a bad thing as I still think that nothing, other than the Toyota Land Cruiser can go against it in an off-road duel. I truly love the Defender, ridiculous driving position, overall lack of refinement and all. Anyway, Land Rover has more or less decided that the purported replacement for the Defender, the DC100 concept is now a new model that would slot in below the Land Rover Freelander instead of replacing the Defender. Somehow I believe this has happened because the strong positive reaction from the public at the motorshow previews was from the Victoria and David Beckhams instead of Farmer Brown, Bob the Builder, Winnie the Pooh and other citizens of the Thousand Acre Wood. What was thought as a concept car to show off how the future Land Rover Defender is now going to be Land Rover's new entry level road going model. How ironic. Ironic as it was supposed to replace the ultimate off-road vehicle in the eyes of many people. The Range Rover box at the Paris Motor Show revealed the 3 door version of the fantastic looking Evoque, and now, they've rolled out their 5 door version of the sporty, scaled down SUV. With 5 doors, the Evoque is set to be more versatile and practical than before and besides the additional 2 doors, there aren't any aesthetic changes or any major differences in its dimensions. The 5 door version is identical in width, length and wheelbase but there is a difference in height; 30mm above the driver's head and 40mm at the back. With more doors comes an airier cabin and the best thing I would like to have from this Range Rover is that ultra cool dual view technology display at the front where the driver sees a map for example, while the passenger at the front watches a movie! The Evoque also comes with sophisticated suspension, called MagneRide Adjustable suspension, which make the SUV more car-like in terms of its handling and though we won't use much of its Terrain Response electronics to handle off road bumps and crests, its still a pretty neat thing to have in your baby Range Rover. Under the bonnet, you can either have a two-wheel drive eD4 diesel which emits 135g/km of CO2 from a 150bhp 2.2l engine, or a new 240bhp turbocharged petrol engine. The announcement was made yesterday during the 40th birthday celebrations of the Range Rover brand at The Orangery Kensington Palace, where Land Rover introduced its new Evoque 'baby' SUV. The pop singer-turned-fashion-designer will lend her trendy input on future special edition Range Rover design projects, starting with a Special Edition of the Evoque. Speaking at Range Rover's 40th anniversary event, Victoria Beckham said: "This is a very exciting collaboration. The classic British heritage of Range Rover and the effortless style, quality and beauty is something I truly admire and also what I hope to achieve with my own brand. I am honoured to take on this role and be part of the creative team."
