    SUNSHINE EMPIRE

Was told by my fren to join in this company SUNSHINE EMPIRE. This company basically attracts people to invest money with them and in return you get "interest" back monthly. My fren put $12,000 and started getting his $1200+- interest . Sound like MLM . Very dubious on the company background. The office is at Toa Payoh HDB Hub occupying whole 7 floor. Comment, experience.....anyone?

  3. http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_559812.html Sunshine Empire pair jailed By Carolyn Quek THE flamboyant founder of Sunshine Empire, who amassed $180 million in 15 months, and his former director were jailed by a court on Friday for running a fraudulent scheme and for faking accounts. James Phang Wah, 50, and former director Jackie Hoo Choon Cheat, 30, had enriched themselves by at least $8 million through Sunshine's multi-level marketing scheme. Phang was sentenced to nine years jail and fined $60,000 while Hoo was jailed for seven years. Phang's wife Neo Kuon Huay, 47, who was found guilty of falsifying payment vouchers together with Phang, was fined $60,000. They did this so that she could receive commissions amounting to nearly $1 million. Some 20,000 people bought into the flashy scheme, which promised high returns on its lifestyle packages. Sunshine sold these packages at its plush Toa Payoh Central office for over 15 months, before it was raided by officers from the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) in November 2007. The packages ranged from $240 to $12,000 and offered attractive bonuses and incentives. What was unique was its customer rebate points (CRP) system, which allowed participants to use the points to buy goods online. Phang and Hoo had assured participants that CRP was derived from the firm's turnover on its e-commerce platform. Like other Ponzi-like schemes, rewards for participants came from fresh money secured from those joining later.

  8. Sunshine Empire under CAD probe Posted: 13 November 2007 1813 hrs Photos 1 of 1 Commercial Affairs Department building SINGAPORE: The Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) has begun investigation into the affairs of Sunshine Empire. A statement from the white collar crime buster said that people who have placed money with Sunshine Empire are advised to wait for further updates by the CAD on the case. More information will be released in due course. CAD said it might request people who had placed money with the company to come forward to assist in the investigation. Based at Toa Payoh HDB Hub, the multi-level marketing (MLM) firm has attracted 20,000 people here since it was set up last July. The man behind Sunshine is Mr James Phang, 48, the founder, director and international president of Empire Group Alliance, a group spanning several Asian countries. Sunshine is part of the group, but Mr Phang does not own it. MLM firms, which are legal in Singapore, typically invite people to pay cash for the right to market goods to other people. They also get cash for recruiting other MLM marketeers. Sunshine was placed on the Monetary Authority of Singapore's investor alert list in September and that of Malaysia's Securities Commission a few months ago. The regularly-updated MAS list warns people of companies which may be offering products regulated by MAS without authority. Sunshine denies it is doing anything wrong. But the Trade and Industry Ministry has warned people to take care in dealing with any MLM firm. Sunshine also operates in Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan, and has 50,000 merchants. - 938Live
  9. Home > Breaking News > Singapore > Story Feb 3, 2009 4 charged over MLM scam By Elena Chong Phang (left), who has the most charges, is said to have conspired with his wife, Ms Jenny Chan, an accounts clerk, and others to falsify accounts involving amounts of $20,000 to $245,000 on six occasions between December 2006 and August 2007. -- ST PHOTO: SHAHRIYA YAHAYA FOUR people were hauled to court on Tuesday on charges of being involved in a fraudulent investment scheme in connection with the controversial multi-level marketing firm Sunshine Empire. Phang Wah, 49, better known as James Phang, his wife, Neo Kuon Huay, 46, Jackie Hoo Choon Cheat, 29, and Yong Wai Hong, 27, face between six and 20 charges each. The prosecution alleges that Hoo, a director of Sunshine, abetted Phang and others to siphon $947,905 from the firm between December 2006 and August 2007. Both men are said to being party to Sunshine's business when they knew it was fraudulently selling prime packages which included potential returns. Phang, described as a manager, and Hoo are accused of failing to keep accounting and other records for financial year 2007. Phang, who has the most charges, is said to have conspired with his wife, Ms Jenny Chan, an accounts clerk, and others to falsify accounts involving amounts of $20,000 to $245,000 on six occasions between December 2006 and August 2007. Another charge states that he was a director of Empire Communication Technology when he authorised someone to falsely lodge a return to the Registrar of Companies on May 24, 2006. Phang is also accused of having obscene and uncensored films at his Westwood Avenue home on Nov 13, 2007. Yong was charged with six counts of authorising one Ng Chee Tiong to falsely lodge returns to the Registrar of Companies that shares in the Empire Investment Group, of which he was director, were allotted for cash. Mr Subhas Anandan is representing all four, who are claiming trial. Bail arguments will be heard later on Tuesday. The cases have been fixed for a pre-trial conference on March 5. A probe into Sunshine's affairs started in November 2007, two months after the company was placed on the investor alert list by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Sunshine was set up by Phang, who says on the company's website that he has almost 30 years' experience in retail, sales and multinational enterprise building. Sunshine is reported to have attracted 20,000 clients here since it was set up in July 2006.

  11. According to the Shin Min Daily news, 3 conditions needed before any withdraw of fund can be released. 1) must pay minimum S$600/- or more for administrative fee before any withdrawal 2) must wait for 21 days for check to be released. 3) if want faster release of fund withdraw, rope in a new member. The above was translated according to today's newspaper reporting. The 3rd condition is an outright insult to our intelligence and is also a tell tales sign of not enough money to pay if every member demand money at the same time. ( Just like the opposition party or some of us always claims, our government got no money to pay every Singaporean if we want our CPF money back at the same time)
  12. Something is very wrong liao, if not CAD not so free to go in. Temasek yearly return is less than 20%, yet Sunshine can pay 60% return on investment. Something only S'pore Pool or Big Sweep can do it, SUnshine bosses are like gods to many unsuspected aunties and uncles. Our guardians is very sharp to identify unscrupulous intentions. Publicity will be intensified to unveil all real identities and intentions. Future payout will dry out sooner with less new investors putting new money with Sunshine. With more than 20,000 members waiting for their monthly payout and with no new investor or new money coming in, monkey wangyang going to end soon. Run for your life.......................bros
  13. Today's TNP reported that the company Sunshine Empire, which used to occupy a 7th-storey unit at the HDB Hub in Toa Payoh, is no longer there. In its place is another company Niu Lifestyle, which was registered on 20 Mar 2008. It was also reported that Sunshine Empire is still on a investor alert list by MAS. The paper also reported that the police said SE was still under investigation. There should be a few more empty lots available at the HUB CP, left vacant by the BMWs.
  14. Any one knows ?? Is coming to a month and nothing yet from CAD.
