James Phang Wah, 50, and former director Jackie Hoo Choon Cheat, 30, had enriched themselves by at least $8 million through Sunshine's multi-level marketing scheme. Phang was sentenced to nine years jail and fined $60,000 while Hoo was jailed for seven years. Phang's wife Neo Kuon Huay, 47, who was found guilty of falsifying payment vouchers together with Phang, was fined $60,000. They did this so that she could receive commissions amounting to nearly $1 million. Some 20,000 people bought into the flashy scheme, which promised high returns on its lifestyle packages. Sunshine sold these packages at its plush Toa Payoh Central office for over 15 months, before it was raided by officers from the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) in November 2007. The packages ranged from $240 to $12,000 and offered attractive bonuses and incentives. What was unique was its customer rebate points (CRP) system, which allowed participants to use the points to buy goods online. Phang and Hoo had assured participants that CRP was derived from the firm's turnover on its e-commerce platform. Like other Ponzi-like schemes, rewards for participants came from fresh money secured from those joining later.

Instructables points us to a video demonstration showing how to extend their utility with a pair of blue jeans. The DIYer in the video says he's kept the same disposable razor sharp for six months. How? By taking a pair of jeans and running the razor up and down 10 to 20 times in one direction along the entire length of the jeans and then again in the opposite direction. Apparently "the threads of the jeans run in a diagonal so switching directions allows for [a] balanced approach to fine tuning the blade's edge." Check out the above video to see the tip in action.

Hi all, these 2 days there have been 2 common black mynas keep coming around my roof. I can see them whenever I look out of my room on the 2nd floor. They just keep hanging around the area and from time to time, seem to be looking for some stuff beneath the roof. Other times they are just hanging around, puffing their feathers and making throaty noises. They have been here since yesterday, and this morning I wake up, they are the first things I see at the balcony. Anyone knows what I gotta look out for? Like perhaps they gonna set up a nest nearby or something?

Just heard from a Taiwanese News that China 东莞 is the World Shoe factory, producing the once world largest output of mass produced shoes. However, about 40% of these factories have either closed or near bankruptcy. Most of the production have now been shifted to the cheaper places like Vietnam and Burma or even to the more rural areas in mainland. Do you guys think the next generation of cheap place to manufacture stuff will be in Africa? The average cost of making a pair of shoe in 东莞 is just US0.20 cents. Regards,

hi all, i am driving kia sorento and wonder whether the original amp they provided us able to install with aftermarket HU. i do not wish to spend money on additional amp n woofer. is it true some cars have their own connectors that will not fit aftermarket brands n thus need to bypass the amp n connect the speakers to HU? talked to 1 of the staff and told me if different then need to bypass. i do not wish to be smoked as i cant even see how my amp looks like. it will be a waste if my original small woofer in the car also cannot use if i chg the HU -
I have 2 ragdolls that requires rehoming. They are a pair of healthy 5.5yrs old bicolor (male) and blue mitted (female) ragdolls that have been together since they were kittens. They are spayed and litterbox trained. At age 5yrs plus, they seemed to be semi retired. The female seems very contented lazing around, loves human contact whereas the male is more active, willing to roam around the house and can be spotted easily. You will be screened before i allow any adoption. There will be no fees and their remaining food, litterbox and litter, treats and food containers will be given if you wish. Priority will be given to those whom can adopt them as a pair as they had been together since young and i wish they will not be seperated. The unnamed couple, a 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were caught in the act late on Easter Sunday by traffic police on the E18 highway, some 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Oslo. Officers who clocked the couple's silver Mazda 323 racing at 133 kilometres per hour in a 100 zone realised they were doing more than just breaking the speed limit, police told AFP. "It was veering from one side to the other because the woman was sitting on the man's lap while he was driving and doing the act, shall we say," said Tor Stein Hagen, a superintendent with Soendre Buskerund district police. "He couldn't see much because her back was in the way," he added. "Why they did it on a highway with such a high risk we don't know." After following the couple for nearly a kilometre, officers pulled the car over at a service station. "We have taken away his driving licence because of the danger that he caused," Hagen said. Prosecutors will decide within the next week what his punishment will be, with police having filmed the incident to use as evidence against the driver. Hagen said he expected the man to face a fine of "several thousand Norwegian crowns" (1,000 Norwegian crowns = S$230) and a lengthy driving ban. -
Gurus, I've gone thru the specs online for SLX265 and it only says Max 150 watts. Not too sure how to find the nominal power. Went to SLT and bought a soundstream amp PCA2.260 and the specs are as follow. Output @ 4 ohm: 80 x 2 Output @ 2 ohm: 130 x 2 Bridged @ 4 ohm: 260 x 1 So which should I choose? Choose output @ 2ohm or 4ohm? I have no intention of adding a sub just want this 2 channel amp to power up the front thats all. Rear is still stock. Should I mount the AMP at the bottom of my seat or fabricate a board and mount it in the boot instead? Thanks guys.

Hi guys, new here, currently not satisfied with my 2 subs output(specs below)... too soft, i believe the 2ch amps(JBL 90Wx2 @ 4ohms) i'm using is not enough, looking to get a mono amp, wat's the min power output i shd be getting and @ wat ohms rating(confused)? Seen amp product on U.S web, r they cheaper then local stuff? Any shops know how to custom sealed enclousure according to the subs installation manual? Your advice is greatly appreciated.
