13177 Hypersonic February 21, 2018 Share February 21, 2018 looks like the taxi drivers still thinking of good old day, sad that Uber is quitting. Looks like taxi drivers more support the Grab apps than Uber apps?! When i called for JustGrab, sometimes still can see taxi appear. But so far when request for Uberflash, all are PHV and never see taxi at all. ↡ Advertisement

Based on memory, how much fine and how many demerit points for this and that offence. Does it make you a better driver ? No way. It just test your memory. After you passed, you forget all the stupid fine and DP. As usual, our wayward schooling system based on memorization of numbers and facts.

Kb27 Supersonic February 27, 2018 Share February 27, 2018 i think they try to follow the taxi vocational test which i understand is also based on memory work... but i thought they will test on more practical info, like routes and places... PHV has 2 papers. Paper 2 is the one based mainly on memory, and super high passing mark of 86% Taxi licence has 1 more paper. Paper 3 which is routes. I understand they have to memorize 40 routes. And in this day and age, who use paper maps ? Just learn to use and follow the gps. Then they also play on words. Those not so good in English, complained they get played out. Example, they give you multiple choice of double-negative answers. You can only pick the "right" one to them, not the "right" one to you. Or give you 4 possibly correct answers, but one of them is MORE correct than the other. It's really an exam intended to fail you, not to test if you're competent enough to be a professional driver. I passed one time, bcuz I had to slog hard for the stupid exam and get those 60 yr old brain cells working hard.

Kopites Supersonic February 27, 2018 Share February 27, 2018 So neatly parked. If every users can think this way, such bike scheme really benefit and good for everyone.Yellow Colour also blend in well with surrounding. Good! yeah, but the shocking thing to me is the sheer number of bikes being procured and now unused... think the 3 companies may need to merge into one to ensure survival...Tuas side is even worse. Outside many company gate/bus stop/grass patch (why there i don't know)/eatery you see so many lying like domino effect. Haha

As usual, our wayward schooling system based on memorization of numbers and facts. I think cuz before the licensing of PHV drivers, the majority of the complaints were about how reckless they are. So LTA decided that making them remember the fines and demerit points might make them drive more carefully?
