Andyngps 5th Gear July 6, 2017 Share July 6, 2017 (edited) Haha, that's very true. I try very hard negotiating and also try beat around the bush and return to squeeze more form my SE. But at the end nothing change, all free items are standard, no extra. Was told this time for Harrier commission not high due to RIGHT selling price. Guess with that type of demand, they can sit there and just wait for order to come.Apparently yes. I have a friend there who almost wnated to quit. And now with harrier turbo, he really busy until smiling to the bank. Well if you need a car now , better go grab it , with more new launches coming up I feel the price will only head north till Jan 2018You mean coe will head north. Went down to see see look look during lunch.... attached below is the price sheet SE handed to me which is valid from 6-Jul to 19-Jul...Would choose this over Rav4 anytimw. Wonder how are they going to clear their rav4...till now i hardly see many on the road. Continuing with my thoughts The cabin is quiet and feels luxurious. But definitely a notch down from the Lexus. Is it worth the difference? Well YMMV Compared to the fxt it has more soft touch feel and the word is cosseting. But the fxt cabin is more hardy and does feel quite sturdy and built to last. The plastics there are harder and you feel more comfortable having your kids kick around or dragging muddy bikes and IKEA furniture inside. The Harrier feels so nice you only want to transport your adult colleagues and shopping in it. Both will lap up the miles but your carbon emissions will be much lower in the Harrier. Both sit quite high up. There are no memory seats and no paddle shifts. The car is meant to be driven more sedately and softly. Seats really feel nice. Is it worth the extra over the FXT? Well YMMV. If 125k is your limit and you don't mind the higher FC the fxt is great. The Harrier is that bit more. But it really makes the Lexus look a bit less value for money. But at that range you will be looking at a car as a marquee or luxury item. The Harrier is the more VFM choice. But the deal now sucks. Too cocky. Bro. I heard the SE telling me in real world the harrier turbo clocks about 9+km per litre only for 50%hw??? Edited July 6, 2017 by Andyngps

Hi therock, Nice ...finally test drive the harrier turbo ! How did you find the response and pickup of this 259Nm/227bhp turbo version especially compared to the fxt ? Sure .. different expectaion and past experience ..... Cheers. Richard
therock Supersonic July 6, 2017 Share July 6, 2017 Sorry bro We didn't get to drive it. Too rushed and too many people.. Besides my friend was ready to sign, if the deal was right.. I think we need to plan this. Now she wants to see the Peugeot 3008, GLA and maybe the Qashqai 2.0 just to see how it feels. If the deal was sweet, she wouldn't have wanted to go elsewhere.. The Lexus had the right feel, but the sales rep was dumbfounded when we asked why should we pay 60k more for their version of the Harrier... :) He said something about the brand and wanting something more.. So the mid value point is the Harrier... Otherwise, if Honda had the Hybrid, she would have bought that too. No PI cars either.

They are priced up there to maintain and preserve their image. It's like Hermes, Chanel handbags. The quality while better, may not justify the high price and it's up to the buyer to see if they are willing to pay for the intangibles. I used to think Lexus are just glorified Toyotas but after owning one myself, well I still think they are

7hm Turbocharged July 6, 2017 Share July 6, 2017 Likely. My is200t clocks 8+ only Wow, really? I'd honestly expected much better from the new semi-Atkinson cycle engine, as that's just as bad as my 2.0L EcoBoost even though the power figures are quite similar but the Toyota-Lexus engine is much newer. I did also look up the carbon emissions level, it is in the 170g/km+ range. Much higher than I was expecting.

therock Supersonic July 6, 2017 Share July 6, 2017 Hi, do you recall if there was a tonneau cover at the boot? I didn't see it, but they may have removed it in the showroom. You can ask your rep to confirm, cheers.

The ballpark should be about there ba :)
