Xlack 2nd Gear July 7, 2017 Share July 7, 2017 wow cool! how you got invited? you the first few batch to make booking? You need to be the first 20 people to pay the refundable pre-booking fee of $3K according to my SE when she first explained to me about this. But after I paid the $3K she said the event is filled already and brushed it off it's nothing one. I believed her as I only had time to meet her 2 weeks later after our initial call. I was quite pissed that I missed this actually but I didn't really care for the event since I'm decided to get the car anyways. It's a nice to have. Then suddenly now got extra tickets so got invited. It's free and I have time so why not. ↡ Advertisement

Also, I didn't get the COE in the last bidding. Now I'm all green with envy of you. Grrrh!!

Those who then paid the full booking (additional $16.2k) last week will get another ticket to the Ritz Carlton launch. This is to differentiate the early birds.... Vratenza Supersonic July 7, 2017 Share July 7, 2017 It is not a given that it is retractable. Look at Jag F-pace's At that price range...it is kind of shameful to be honest....... I usually retract it fully and remove and put under the boot floor when I am carrying bulky loads that require me to fold down the rear row seat backing Of course you can keep the retractable cover in the 2nd row foot wells but that will be not very elegant solution. ya of course it is retractable. It's like a roller blind, you pull at it and it rolls up nicely. Whether it can be kept under the boot floor that one I'm not sure. There are several empty compartments below the boot floor but I don't think there is one cutout nicely for the tonneau cover. Anyway why would you want to put the whole thing aside, just have it fully retracted can already. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CyxCia2pnQ

Able to store it under the boot floor panel will be nice. Otherwise one can also leave it ON the boot floor,as it's usually just while carrying bulky items. After that it goes right back on. That said, I believe the Forester which has under boot storage for the cover. Now I just need to make a list of things to check before I make a trip down to the showroom again. I didn't put the 3K deposit but went ahead to book the car after they release the price. Went for the non-guarantee COE and was informed that I got the bit in last COE exercise. I think they will invited those who pay the refundable deposit and convert to firm booking as well as those who got the COE in last bidding exercise. khinghong 1st Gear July 7, 2017 Share July 7, 2017 Seem like those who got their COE in the first bidding exercise are those who booked on the first day or very early one... Wonder if AD allocate COE according to booking sequence? Make sense?

Pocus Turbocharged July 7, 2017 Share July 7, 2017 (edited) From what i understand, turbo spooling has nothing to do with ecu as it is the exhaust flow that spools the turbine. Bigger turbo charger needs more flow to spool the fan but also generates more power than smaller ones. The lag which most says is the time you put ur foot down to the time the exhaust flow is enough to spool the turbine. One reason why FXT felt more responsive could be due to the turbo itself. FXT uses twin scroll turbochargers which mitigate low rev turbo lags by having 2 fan blades of different pressure. The turbo pressure is also quite high and can reach 1.5 bar max. The CVT of the FXT are chain driven instead of the regular rubber driven CVT so it is built to handle high torque and doesn't have that rubberband effect. CVT bringing its rev to the optimum so there is no loss of torque. But then it will feel more like a golf cart acceleration...boring for some. Smoother for some. FXT does come with a S sharp mode which the CVT mimicked a 8 speed gear to allow you to rev. While this mode feels faster and more engaging to drive, owners have taken the timings and found it to be slower compared to its original CVT mode. Taken all this into consideration that could be why the harrier felt less urgent compared to the FXT. Edited July 7, 2017 by Pocus
