Reckless Cyclist

Couldn't really see much wrong with what the cyclist did, but then the STOMP logo was obscuring the key part of the video. Seems like the driver was going to try and squeeze past him if he went left anyway. Driver seemed to be a bit uptight to me.

I fully agree with this posting by Francis in STOMP

Francis59:

CB Lim. ..Oops Sorrie CS Lim you just a very ungracious driver and you are the more dangerous driver than the cyclist. Your 4 Wheeler very big as compared with the bicycle. That cyclist is going straight and you're fully aware right. Instead of being gracious by giving way to him, yet even honk at him even though he already crossed to the lane for going straight. Of course he got fed up with you. Put yourself in his position. You are endangering his safety aren't you aware. Just another blame and justify culture just because you have in vehicle cam, idiot. Don't tell me as a driver you failed to anticipate that the cyclist's intention!

This is a right reserved for the traffic police. I am not prepared to reduce myself to your level.

Good luck to you.

Actually the best is to ignore this davidtch fellow, disregarding own live to challenge the chiong cyclist . Self defence I doubt so.

Me too actually. But then again it's really a double edged sword thingy. they cycle on pavement have to worry about knocking into pedestrians, they cycle on road they worry about cars around them. =/

This is one of the downsides of drivers. The law against these cyclist is not clearly defined. So they are rampant in their acts.

The same rule applies to all road users. There are clear rules for cyclist too, which the law clearly defines. It is the enforcement that is difficult since cyclist do not have a number plate that can be used to identified them resulting in some cyclist disregarding traffic rules.

Bottomline, cyclist must obey all traffic rules like any other responsible road user.

Saw more retards in leotards today beating red lights and having such bright blinding strobe lights.

I don't wish they get into an accident...

But I won't mourn either if a cement truck ran down the dumb ones. Natural selection works quite effectively sometimes.

LTA should impose the requirement to register and put up a registration number clearly on bicycles if their owners want to cycle on the road. This will make identification of errant cyclists easier without burdening the thousands of cyclists who only cycle in the park/pavements.

Penalty for non-compliance would be confiscation of the bicycles.

This will make us drivers very happy and might even swing our votes....

I agree with your suggestion. Unfortunately, LTA thinks that it is going backward. Maybe you should set up a lobby group.

Pavement or PCN is not under LTA jurisdiction. If the bike nvr go on the road, LTA cannot do anything le.

Er this one LTA cannot claim first, other cities already got:

However they can claim first to have red plates, ie weekend bikes for those leotard chaps.

I am a driver but in this case I would let cyclist go first. U also cant expect the cyclist to stop right this would makes the driver unable to filter and turn left.

Honking may not be necessary in this case, let alone middle finger by the cyclist. Both of them shouldnt be in our road, one for being impatient and the other for using hand gesture
