I do cycle on the viaduct of the wedt coast highway too. Normally weekend before 7am where traffic is lighter. At times when i see more trailers traffic I will give it a miss and use the main road towards Keppel.

 

Feeling fatigued, misjudgment or even a slight gusts of wind could resulted in that accident.

 

Hope he is ok and recover soon. Hope no concussion too.

Agreed nowadays alot of monkeys onnthe highway. Sometime a grp of them together taking up the whole lane. Hope the authority takes up this matter. Is a severe safety concern.

I use this viaduct for Saturday morning ride.

 

It is NOT expressway.

 

What's on video is likely to be fatigue.

LTA had clarified that all roads except Expressways and the Fort Canning Tunnel are allowed to cycle. This road is a Viaduct that is allowed. Similarly, I had cycled along Serangoon Viaduct to get home from OCBC cycling previously.

the point is are these cyclist committing a traffic offence by cycling on the roads?

 

if yes, why are the TP not putting a stop to such offence? 

 

if no, these cyclists are causing a nuisance to other road users, and more importantly, they are causing road hazards

btw they pay $0 road tax $0 coe $0 arf and they think rest of road users owe them the right of way

 

we keep seeing such 'tour de france' cyclists on the roads but no one stopping them

even in the real tour de france, the roads are cordoned off and there are safety cars behind

to me give and take lah.. we are in a small country.. we don have luxury of space for sports, exercise etc.
