exactly its extremely hard for any kind of enforcement on them, cos they not identifiable.

there is simply no accountability for them or no obligation at all for them to follow the traffic law.

now we must push for them to put on number plate before going onto the road.

drivers must take all the idiots video and post , so authority will  know how bad it is.

more idiots here

Cyclists on conventional bicycles had to start banging into pedestrians much more often for the authorities to slap license plate on all bicycles. Else, nothing will be done to alter the Road Traffic Act as its written to protect the vulnerable groups (pedestrians, cyclists etc.). That's how things are done.

PMDs kanna big time as numerous serious accidents occur on footpaths with pedestrians. PABs are also banned from footpaths and have to use the roads with mandatory license plates because being power assisted bicycles, its much easier to go faster (>25kmh) than a conventional bicycle.

Anyway, for mountain bikers to do such stunt is stupid without checking traffic on their right. They think they still riding in Mandai trail is it, where they only encounter hikers and wild boars?? If they had no skills to maneuver around the bollards at the bus stop, they shouldn't be riding in the trails anyway.

Motorcyclists will also follow - yesterday a JB biker was going at 50km along CTE. I needed to filter left to exit, damn hard to go in front and had to slow to below 50 to go behind him.

When passing him, saw him twiddling his (mounted) phone all this while!  No sympathy if he goes to heaven early.

Singapore is too densely packed, and there is an attitude problem with the errant PMD riders.  They used to ignore PMDs until the problem got out of hand with the start of the gig economy, and more and more PMDs zooming around causing accidents with pedestrians.

The way I see it, unless bicycles start crashing into pedestrians, I think the authorities will still choose to ignore the problem. Seriously, all it takes is to spare the manpower and effort over some weekend mornings targeting a particular group of errand roadies will ensure a better outcome for everyone in the end. They had to do this consistently to set the mindset and tone to use the roads right for this group of riders, and enforce the punishments accordingly. Come on, if they can stake out cameras on overhead bridges consistently, they can stake out to catch them red handed.

If all else fails, then set legislation such as licensing etc, getting rigid with rules as the last resort for bicycles.

Don’t need lah.. just agree to extend this to cyclists can Liao

To be fair, no vehicles shld be stopping inside the cycling lane by law. They shld on hazard lights and stop within the 3rd lane, just to the right of the cycling lane. Cyclist should also be paying close attention to the road ahead, it doesn't pay to be complacent just because it's a cycling lane.
