The rear ending cyclist probably didn't read the traffic condition good enough.

If the car ahead of taxi had stop due to red light, he should have ready himself to stop. 

When a vehicle on the left lane had signal to turn left, no cyclist or motorcyclist will keep to near kerbside to go straight. Sure bump into turning car. So will go on a straight-going lane. 

Under this condition, they probably should be doing single file instead of abreast if only one lane is passable. 

Due to lack of peloton discipline, there is no pile up behind the taxi.

From the junction of Nicoll Highway to Beach Road, I can’t see whether Honda Civic switched on Left Turning signal from the Nicoll Highway. By the time cam car reached Beach Road, Honda Civic switched on Left Signal.

From Beach Road till Victoria Street Junction, most of the footage is deleted. The available footage was blocked by Mini Bus. There was 1 or 2 bike trying to overtake from middle lane.

What is clearly after that was taxi stopped with a 1 car gap from the car in front.

It is very clear that this is a stir shit video despite both parties are in the wrong.

The way I looked at this: taxi driver has every right to stop his vehicle.I would've done the same if it was me driving. To say the taxi-driver jammed brake on purpose is ridiculous. His eyes would've been on the cyclists in front rather than his rear mirror.

Notice the front-most cyclist dangerously drifting towards the cab's lane. OK, he may not have meant to cut into the cab's lane(giving the cyclist a benefit of doubt), taxi driver won't know as he doesn't read the cyclist's mind. Only thing he can do to make sure he doesn't hit the cyclist should he dangerously drift into his lane is by stopping. The cyclist's friend at the back happily trying to drift left does not see what his friend did and hence blamed the cab-driver for stopping his vehicle abruptly.

The cyclists asked the driver to drive normally claiming that they won't hit him one. How would the cab driver know? He's the one bearing whatever responsibility should anything untoward happen. Ridiculous for the cyclists to expect the driver to read their minds.

At the very least, the cyclists should be ashamed of themselves for the way they cycle on the road with total disregard of their own and others' safety.

Good observation. But that being said, if those cyclists have shame, they wouldn't have behave like this in the first place.  Hahaha.

Learn from me, when cycling, keep away far far away from cars, no need to speed and have safety. When driving, keep far far away from cyclists and don't get yourself into unnecessary trouble.

The other day I was stuck behind a bus travelling around 20kmph on the left most lane at mandai road. Took some time to change lane as it was peak hour. As I drove past the bus, saw a bicyclist list huffing and puffing away in front. Seems jin cham. Knn.

This week along Dunearn morning peak also. Bus going so slowly before it changed lane to overtake 3 cyclists (Side by side of course).  Me go behind the cyclists and honked. Good thing they formed a single file for me. If not I will have to test my horn power more.

@Volvobrick I thought under the Road Traffic Rules (RTR), cyclists are allow to ride 2 abreast on road with more than 1 lane?
