Root cause is LTA allowed cycling abreast that’s why those MAMILS think they are entitled to. It should never even be allowed in the first place.

Haha you guys ah. I dare not to bad thing not because I am a good guy, I am scared of you all

You are safe as long as u don't purposely hog a lorry, taunt the driver and break his side mirror...

...while putting on a million-dollar smirk in front of a HD cam. ;)

The initial intention of having this as a standalone thread is to "consolidate" all the cyclist vs driver issues under one roof, so I shall allow it to stay alive for now.

BUT, I would like to urge all reader and poster to stop all the witch hunt and name calling (be it to the cyclist, driver or otherwise). And, please refrain from using vulgarities too, KNN, CBK, CCB inclusive... [grin]

KNN has always been Kampong news network leh...

CCB has always been Change control Board

CBK I dont know.. .. my last reservist never use...

I showed both videos to my Daughter who recently got her DL.

Her reaction:

(1) both CBs (my translation heh heh)

(2) the cyclist deserve it..

(3) the driver stupid.. now go jail

(4) a moment of folly, arrogance and irrational reaction ..

I added what is scary can happen to anyone of us, easily.. and very easy to be experts while typing behind a Huawei Matebook XPro laptop..

she said â thatâs you dadâ..

Remember, must control one's temper , others can beat us up, we will be wrong if we retaliate.

Educational clip attached.

Dedicated to Eric Cheung.

Sorry for those who don’t understand Mandarin. It’s a spoof song to 阿杜’s “她一定很爱你”.

If the cyclists were riding 2 abreast, and if you need 1.5m clearance between you and the cyclist, you would almost need a whole lane to over take them..

Both ways cannot work for us here leh. 1st one will cause accident when the red car stop for no reason. 2nd method, we will have causeway jams on major roads haha

Here's an illustration on why cyclists ride 2 abreast.

I don't mind cyclists to cycle abreast this way when approaching a junction, but not staying abreast when stopping at traffic junctions or cycling abreast all the way.

Even cycling in single file , I would pay attention before turning left when I see cyclist.

When red car sees the cyclists, he should slow down , form up behind the cyclists before left turn. Likewise for the second scenario.

There won't be massive jam because 1. We do not have too many roadbikes on the road, 2. They are slow but not standstill.

If both drivers and cyclists could adopt give and take approach, I would think there should be less conflict like the Eric case

This same theory cwn also be applied to cyclists cycling in th3 park connector or pavement. They let pedestrians walk in front and wait why need to on the road? It is a congested road, so priority given for mass transport so leisure take a step back. Till we are able to reduce population to 1 million, then maybe everyone will share haha

Its a little more than give or take. Red car in picture 1 has to keep his eye out for motorcyclist turning left from his right side, car in next lane turning left on a straight road, and if there is a pedestrian crossing, yolo pmds.

Let us also not include the cyclist who is speeding down the stretch and wants to turn left ahead of you thinking that he's a tour de france cyclist and ye shall yield before him.
