So during 11.11, bought this slim one cos i thought would match the ones in my dining area better (the philips one is plastic frame) as all the others are alu frame.
But wah yesterday, went going to change it, open up, the alu frame takes up so much of the area for the 6watt model. And the box stated only 450lm...

wth the philips 7watt one can do 25% more. And since it was over my dining table area, decided to use back the philips one. Though since plastic frame, aesthetically not as nice lol, and the dead one, some of the margins of the cutout can be seen due to the slightly rounded corners. 

Most of these LED sellers don't state how many lumens the light can output, other than philips one is stated in the spec sheets. I guess u have to ask the sellers on shopee. 

 

I wouldn't trust those unbranded China LEDs specs. They are often bumped up and the actual lumen not as much. But most of us can't tell or measure.

For LEDs, I'd stay with Philips.

Good thing nowadays is easy to buy replacements in small numbers.

I have the Philips Meson 13W. It's freaking bright.

I compared to those unbranded China floodlight rated "50W", well...  about the same brightness.

I bought the Philips bcuz  a nearby Good Price Shop, was selling buy 1, get 1 free.

yeah most people don't know about lumens. So their main assumption is power draw = output brightness.

But 450 lumen for 6 watts is pretty bad. The DB027 series generation 2 I'm using is 7 watts for 600 lumen. the latest G3 is 6 watts for 600 lumen. 

My place lighting done by previous owner so has more small LED and lightbox style. my old place the lighting is brighter cos i have less LEDs but more powerful ones. 

I didn't get meson cos i just choose the longer life ones. I thought removing them from the false ceiling would be difficult without damaging the paint on the false ceiling, but actually it's much easier than i expected.

Hence I didn’t bother. What I want is those explosive nail gun to drive concrete nails.  
But alas illegal in SG.

this type is commonly found in a lot of low-power DC electrical usage, only things seems dangerous is the exposed terminals that make layman uncomfortable, but usually it should be put in some enclosure or box, so no real issue, also must get from those reputed brand lah....

Explosive gun powder charge. I googled and saw some selling on shopee. Don’t get caught. Gun powder sure Kenna charged if found out.

Are you trying to scare them by sound or physically throwing things at them ?

If the latter, use a water jet.

Once I caught a mynah in my balcony sitting on top of the AC compressor. I slowly move and took a garden hose and aimed water at it. The first time I missed, the second time, I aim at where it's going to fly out to, and hit it. 

After that I half net my balcony. Instead of stopping them from coming in, the net caught the mynahs, 2x. I had the disgusting job of getting rid of the bodies.

Clean out washing machine (top load) as it was occasionally spewing out black stuff.

I use oxygen-bleach, like Kao color bleach or Vanish. They are less corrosive than regular chlorine-bleach, but more expensive. They are marketed as stain removal, but like chlorine-bleach, it will kill bacteria as well.

At the bottom of this LG is a screw, Philips P2 or flat head screwdriver can be used. For the first time (virgin), it may be difficult to unscrew due to it being very tight, from factory. After removing the screw, remove the plastic tray straight up. If you have a pick, it's easier, to go around and loosen the tray. Then it should be lifted straight up. 

The tray has no orientation, it sits on a slotted shank. Just need to wiggle it a bit to fit.

There is a small o-ring on the screw. Be careful, not to loose it.

Picture shows after cleaning. Before the cleaning, the tray had mud-like stuff sticking to both sides, all over, stuff you can't normally see from the outside.

The blue plastic ring is the filter, it catches the black stuff as well. The water goes up and down a slot behind the plastic filter.

Now school holidays so I did some drum cleaning for my front loader also on friday/sat. Oxygen bleach plus 90 deg hot water cycle. 

Cleaned the rubber seal for the door.

Front load has less problem with water scum. The black stuff, I understand is bcuz of softener interacting with the detergent. But I can't stop my wife from using softener. Softener can be replaced by vinegar, I read.
