Mkl22 Supersonic December 25, 2023 Share December 25, 2023 Wanted to replace my KDK stand fan bearing. In the end only half done, as the bearing puller was too short. Have to now order a new longer puller. but managed to replace the rear one. not too difficult a task. I took longer as I went slow. The bearing puller was a cheap taobao one that cost $4 and switchable 2/3 prong. Too difficult to use on the fan bearing. Ordered a new 2 prong with a bar in between for better control. so KDK should last indefinitely as one can replace the bearings and capacitor and there should not be anything else to break.
Kb27 Supersonic December 26, 2023 Share December 26, 2023 Since my toddler discover the joy of throwing things like toys, small pieces of clothes into the toilet bowl and press the flush button, I've been plagued with a stuck toilet bowl for a long time. 😞 I had tried many ways to clear it with many kinds of tools, but at the best of time, it felt like a half done job. Then the flood would begin again and I've to try and clear it again. Sometimes with poop backwashing up, it's no fun, bloody dirty job. You name it, I've bought it, all kinds of tools, none of them worked in my case. At one time, I use a pressure washer with a curve end to flush the toilet and it dislodge some brownish water, then I try a tool to fish out whatever was inside. I cleared one broken piece of towel, and another time a pair of underwear. But the joy was short-lived as the flood came back again. There's more of whatever inside the bowl, that's stuck there, just moving about, sometimes blocking, sometimes not. And finally, I spend on another $30+ device, this one was demoed to clear stuck clothing. And it seems to work, for now, it's remained cleared. It's a piece of plastic pipe that you can put some attachment to, pump up the air, max 6 bars, then pull the trigger to flush the toilet bowl. There are many sellers of these tool, but I bought it from here: https://www.lazada.sg/products/i2188370062-s12513355730.html 3
Kb27 Supersonic January 4, 2024 Share January 4, 2024 (edited) Dunno where I found these screws, but they are not Phillips head. They are Pozidriv head screws, identified by a cross punched on the head. If you use a Phillips screwdriver it will not fit properly, and will tend to cam out, ruining the screw head, when it slipped out. When you use a Pozidriv screwdriver, it fits perfectly, with no slip. Actually, I found them in a Ikea box of screws.. Ikea is selling them, but doesn't mention the fact that you need a Pozidriv screwdriver, not a Phillips screwdriver. https://www.ikea.com/sg/en/p/trixig-175-piece-screw-and-plug-set-30556696/ If you're having trouble driving a Ikea screw with a Phillips screwdriver, this is the reason. mersaylee Hypersonic January 14, 2024 Share January 14, 2024 After 2 decades...it's time to retire the trusted simxiangchoon...changed 2...one more to go...but the hard to access to the last one prompted an idea to change the entire vanity setup...went to ikea to shop for replacement...then got side tracked to include a queen size bed frame with storage...then more to follow with this and that...until I told wife that we better stop and go home...otherwise we might just entertain the thought of change house...😅

I'm beginning to like it. Pozidriv s slightly deeper as compared to phillips That's why the phillips screwdriver will not fit properly, and will tend to spin out and damage the head. With the correct pozidriv driver, it fits like a glove. You can stick it into the screw and it's unlikely to drop out. You can't do this with a phllips screw/driver unless you use a magnet.
Ct3833 Supersonic January 19, 2024 Share January 19, 2024 (edited) This time round, let me share my foolish Xiaomi 1S roborock repair journey. The vacuum cleaner kept complaining filter wet or blocked, i replaced the Hepa filter, same complain persisted. I exchanged the filter with the other similar 1S, confirmed no problem, isolated the cause down to the vacuum clearer itself. I opened up the casing,...noticed the sponge filter was extremely dirty, but after washing, i realised the vacuum exhaust air was very weak as compared to the other one, so i decided to buy a centrifugal fan to have it replaced. This one below is the fan for S$10.... The fan was delivered when i was in HK last week, came back last night and decided to have it replaced this evening. Opened up the cover, there were a lot of screws involved, luckily most of the screws were of the same size, so i didn't have to worry about putting them back with the right screws. First removed the circular brush and the front roller wheel. Next opened up the back cover. Removed the battery , the long brush and its housing Next removed the front bumper sensor, this one has alot of little tiny screws. Removed the charging end cover. Removed the two wheels and bottom cover. The centrifugal fan can be seen on the lower right, the new one on the 2 occlock position After removing the fan,i realised there was another filter on top of the centrifugal fan which was completely blocked! So i use a vacuum cleaner to clean off the dust from the filter, put back everything without changing the fan, everything is working perfectly, the suction and exhaust outlet are so strong😁. Now i have a spare fan, any interest party ? Offering FOC to MCFers😅. Self pickup. Edited January 19, 2024 by Ct3833

Too lazy to bring back for warranty and procrastinated, it can sometimes only vacuum one room or so. Often die halfway. Finally got down to solving it recently. Bought a higher capacity battery from taobao (it's some roidme clone) and changed the brushes which broke off. The new battery is twice the cost of the original one. But still it's significantly cheaper than shopee. Now finally after 2 years after purchase. It can finish the home on a single charge. Just did it few days ago. 2

Both my units are about 5 year old, both batteries have been replaced, other than that, regular replacment of hepa filters, brushes, etc. So far my helpers are happy with the vacuum cleaners, no need for them to vacuum 😀

I think it's more cos these woods are mostly unvarnished. This bookshelf. Same for the underside of the stools. My house humidity isn't high. My parents flat is beside sungei pandan. The humidity in my old room is so high that chrome can tarnish within one or two years. All my computer graphics and sound card panels used to look like they are 5-8 years old. Kklee 6th Gear January 31, 2024 Share January 31, 2024 IMHO. I have a glass table and one of the leg got detached. What can I use to "glue" it back ? The leg to glass joint is of some metal, maybe aluminum. ↡ Advertisement
