Led and driver from China quite shitty. Your fluorescent will last longer. My take is either go with LED tubes from osram. Last quite well. But this is only for those 2ft or 4ft tubes.
I would leave it as fluorescent tube unless you are ever ready to fix it again. Consume a bit more power never mind. It is the hassle to rush down to fix when they complain not working.

Thought fluorescent tube quite difficult to buy since most are LED T5 tube liao.

For own home ok. Not for parents. Old people typically demand you provide immediate service to fix it.

I live nearby😂😁

OK problem fixed.

Heating element replaced. Cost 180 + 40 for concealed ceiling.

Thanks @Mkl22.

Ken said that replacing the heater would be 600 dollars cos need to remove the false ceiling and reinstate later.

yes, this redoing of false ceiling and the fact that my joven was not leaking and all good, was the main reason why i opted to just change the element. anyway he was very willing to share how he does it and what tools he used. thus i bought the element from malaysia and also the 2in socket tool to DIY change my other heater when it fails. he warrantied his work for 1 yr when i asked him. he said he has done many and all good so far.

Anyone replaced their ceiling lights (florescent/energy saving) ring bulbs to led panels?

Looking to buy magnetic led panels to replace all the lighting at my old folks' place. Are those sold at Mr diy or neighbourhood hardware stores good enough? Or better to get from lighting shops? Easy to self diy or get installer?

TIA.

My Relite fan has a ring fl light. I got tired of replacing the fl tube, so I modify it.

I disconnect the wire and removed most of the fl parts, including ballast and starter. I wired up two E27 connectors.

Then stick them with LED bulbs.

Should they blow, it's easy to replace.

Whenever I have FL ring light failure, I replace with the circular LED type. Your mod takes more effort.

It's a one time effort.

LED bulbs are cheaply available. And you can use high quality Philips bulb. Change the bulb power anytime by replacing the bulb.

It doesn't take an engineer to unscrew and screw back the bulb. 😁

Ya I rather have screw on bulbs that the wife can replace if it blows. Else she will kpkb about all the fancy light fixtures I put and then when it blows when I travel it’s more hassles.

From experience... Most ladies cannot handle screw on bulbs also... They afraid they might blow up the house or trip the main circuit when they don't "screw properly"😆

Yes this is what i did in my previous house, replaced these type of lights with LED plate type of lights, just 3 magnets to stick on to the metal casing of the light. It is easy to convert, easy to maintain and save energy.

Any handy tips on how to install wall fan onto condo drywall?… concrete I can do.. but dry wall may be a first….

There are plastic expansion plugs as well (similar to Method 3). Can buy off shopee.

PS. I haven't tried too! No drywall in the house. Buy I have bought metal expansion plugs to secure a ceiling fan to a thin metal frame before. Same concept. Very tight and solid.

Like what @Volvobrick mentioned, or search  for drywall expansion anchor screw, aircraft screw etc, you will find what you want.
