Front load has less problem with water scum. The black stuff, I understand is bcuz of softener interacting with the detergent. But I can't stop my wife from using softener. Softener can be replaced by vinegar, I read.

I don't use softener. Not really required in our tropical environment.

Any recommendations for good masonry drill bit?

I use Irwin. So far ok. But I diy so don’t drill that many holes anyway.
If it’s a normal non sds, then I say forget it. Just buy a sds rotary hammer with bit and punch holes easily.

Thanks but 1/3 of the bits are useless square ones which I have never come across ever.

SQ bits are mostly for woodworking.

I used this pocket screw bcuz it's versatile, has a wide head, self drilling, half thread to pull 2 pieces of wood together.

I just bought a few from Horme. It's Makita SDS bits, bcuz I need to make a big hole in the wall. [:p]

You can buy a set from Makita, it's durable and quite cheap.

Yeah, I have a cheap set with triangle bits. At least those screws I have seen and used the bits before.

I just took out 2 triangle screws. The only thing to do, is to throw them away and replaced with normal phillips head.

Otherwise, you might regret the next time you want to take them out again, and this time you can't find the correct tool.

These triangle heads are for anti-tampering and serve no other purposes.

If you were using the same screwdriver for normal everyday usage; and decided to use it for electrical work, the long metallic shank is a potential disaster. I had accidentally short circuited the AC supply due to a socket electrical contacts being placed very closed together. It's my fault for not being careful enough to a use a proper insulated screwdriver.

But I think just heat-shrinking the shank will save the trouble. The cost is only a few cents.

You can also choose your own colour scheme of the heat-shrink tube to denote the driver head for easy identification. Here, I decide to use green for PH2. The unshrunk tube diameter is 8mm, just nice for this screwdriver.

Got a small strip of unused real estate on the wall. I was able to hang up a 30x100cm pegboard.

So can organize and store more stuff.

At the top of the board, I install an additional blue tapcon (concrete screw) for extra holding power. This was easy over the top drilling and direct insert the screw without having to remove the board to put wall plug. That's the advantage of tapcon.
