  7. 5-year-old boy found dead in Choa Chu Kang A five-year-old boy, who was left with his elder brother, was found dead due to unnatural causes in their home in western Singapore on Sunday morning. It is understood that Muhamad Irfan and his seven-year-old brother have been under the care of their aunt, Sapiah Awang, 47, who lives in a HDB flat in Teck Whye estate, which is part of Choa Chu Kang. The boys' parents are currently in jail. A neighbour said that Sapiah, who is employed as a dishwasher, discovered the boy lying motionless on a mattress in the middle of his living room upon returning home from work at around 2 am, reported The Straits Times. "She was frantic when she ran to my house and asked me for help," said neighbour Mohd Atatn, 82, who resides four doors away from Sapiah. The retiree said that he followed to her house and saw the boy lying on the mattress, while the boy's brother was sitting quietly next to his body. He also told Sapiah to inform the police. The brothers are believed to have been playing police and thief, and had used strings to tie each other up on the night of the tragedy. Marks, which Mohd Atan described as "blue-black", were found on Irfan's wrists. It is understood that he also suffered injuries and bruises on other parts of his body, believed to have been caused by rough play. Still, it is not known whether those injuries are related to his death. Other neighbours interviewed by the same paper said that it was common for both boys to be left alone at home when their aunt was at work. However, they did not know much information about Sapiah, or for how long the boys have been under her care. A neighbour who declined to be named said she had seen the brothers playing with each other, but had never seen them quarrel or fight. A police spokesman said the police received a call at 2.15am, informing them that a boy was lying in his flat and could not be woken up. He was pronounced dead at 2.35am. Both Sapiah and Irfan's elder brother are assisting the police in investigations, although no arrests have been made. Investigations are going on and the case has been classified as an unnatural death.

  12. WTF is this? Totally appalled. Thank goodness the baby was saved in the nick of time. http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews...419-274562.html A newborn baby was found buried alive yesterday afternoon, in a flower patch located at Eunos block 31A, reported the Shin Min Daily News. A resident, Mr Tay, 60, was at the sixth floor sky garden at block 31A at around 2pm when he heard crying noises coming from the plot of plants and flowers behind him. The retiree told a reporter from the Chinese daily that the cry sounded like it was made by a cat, and dismissed it at first. However, he felt something was amiss when he did not see any animal in sight. Mr Tay then used his hands to check if anything was hiding among the flowers, and was shocked to discover two tiny feet peeking out from beneath the soil. "I asked my friend to come and take a look, I thought it was a doll at first," said Mr Tay. Curious, Mr Tay then climbed over and into the flower patch. He removed the soil covering and was alarmed to find the baby, who was still alive. Mr Tay immediately pulled the baby out. Describing the baby as small and dark-skinned, Mr Tay said the baby was bare-bodied, except for a black 'rope' made of plastic wound tightly around his neck. His umbilical cord was still attached. Miraculously, the baby was still breathing, but was very weak. "The baby's eyes were open, and his mouth and ears were filled with soil. He was crying non-stop, it was a pitiful sight," said Mr Tay, who immediately called the police. Mr Tay estimates that the baby had been buried under about five centimetres of soil. He says the baby is lucky to survive, 'probably because of its strong will to live', said Mr Tay. Mr Tay said police found a blood-soaked singlet 10 metres away, which is believed to be related to the case. Droplets of blood were also found at the staircase landing near the site where the newborn was found.
  13. Hi everyone, I am posting this here since this is the highest volume forum that I frequent regularly. If you or anyone you know lost a dog, please read on. Location: JW Ave 4 Colour: Brown Breed: Mini Pinscher (Spelling?) Tag but with a not in use phone number. For those interested in the full story: I was driving along Jurong West Ave 4 and just past the traffic junction at Jalan Bahar when I saw that cars in front were jamming brake and flashing their hazards. I thought it was an accident due to the heavy rain but no; it was a tiny dog running left and right along this major road! A couple of cars stopped to help. Someone managed to shoo the dog into a minor road. I turned in to assist. In the pouring rain, the poor dog was still running about on the road. Because drivers tend to drive fast along that road, I was worried and tried to grab the dog to safety. It bit me. Thankfully, when I opened my car door, it decided to jump straight in to avoid the rain. I quickly made a U-turn and headed back to my house MSCP. The dog was terrified and wouldn't let me get near it. I gave a call to my brother who brought me some plasters and doggy treats. We tried using doggy treats but couldn't lure it out. I called ASD which referred me to SPCA. I left my brother with the dog and went to the clinic to get a jab just in case. Eventually, my brother managed to feed it one doggy treat and it calmed down. That is when he managed to read the number on the tag. Filled with hope, we dialled the number but it was not in use! Eventually, the SPCA guy came and took the dog away. He identified the dog as a mini pinscher (spelling?). Having done all that, I ended up with a lighter heart, a lighter wallet and a pissed off gf (whom I was supposed to pick up). I am praying hard that the dog gets reunited with its owner or finds a good home via SPCA. I think it is a toy breed and HDB approved so adoption will prob be successful. Please please spread the word around so the owner can locate the dog soon. If that happens, it will make all the trouble worth it. I apologize for the slightly long post but I just had to get the story off my chest because I am feeling slightly sian and concerned about the tiny dog's fate. Thanks for reading. Now to go clean my fabric seats.

  18. Some guy claimed his son filmed what look like a "bear" leaning against a dustbin. The video was quite grainy but could see the "bear" moved a bit. Personally felt it is highly unlikely this was really a bear. What do you think? http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...d_bus_stop.html STOMPer Philip3D was driving along Ulu Pandan Road when he saw what seemed to be a bear standing by a dustbin at a bus stop. Said the STOMPer: "I was on my way back from the airport with my son, driving along the main Ulu Pandan Road and noticed something strange at the bus stop, near a dustbin. "At first we thought it was a big dog or some sort of creature. "My son took this video on his handphone, and after many views we realised it could quite simply be a bear! "After it caught sight of us and started heading our way, it made sense to drive off without hesitation. "It was a close shave."
