Wanting to get a new car ... wanna sporty looks, good fc, looks cool and good buy. Thank u. Please advise! 1) Mit Lancer - Now manual going at $67K + ... cheap with sporty looks,L/S etc. Is the engine reliable? 2) Toyota Vios - DOHC, 16 valves, looks quite sporty, $63K + auto... 3) Subaru TS 1.6 - Like the sporty looks, include wrx 16" sport rims, body kit, $76K + manual, $78K + auto .. thought of getting but afraid of maintenance problems cos not many people driving subaru on road so spare parts are hard to get. 4) Honda Civic - Vtec engine $78K + auto, nice leather seats, interior looks cool. A bit not value for money. Down payment - $15K to $20K Monthly installment - $600 to $800 Which bank is better for financing. Mostly having 2.2% interest rate Only one giving 1.9% If 7 and 10 yeas payment are both 1.9% which to go for? What kind of freebies to ask for - L/S, Tint, body kits ??? Thank you -

Hi guys, I am now considering to get a car and have narrowed down to 2 choices: Kia Cerato(1st hand) or 2nd hand Toyota Corolla 1.5(2-2.5yrs). Both are about the same prices: Cerato:$62500 (after deducting the $5000 worth of free 1st yr insurance+6mth installment) Corolla: ~$60,000. Both appeal to my heart in their own ways and I find it hard to make a decision. Hope that someone will help me out in this.

Taken from toyota forum.... esp for bro/sis using mineral oil/having shorter oil chg interval you might want to stock up a few pieces. This is about the best Toyota Denso oil filter (made in japan) you can buy for your corolla. It uses the yellow foam filtering media which I believe gives superior filtering compared to the paper element ones. http://www.nbt-brunei.com/part/knowledge/oil_filter/ The problem is that the Toyota Stockist are no longer bringing in the made in japan filters. To cut costs, they are bringing in the made in thailand 90915-YZZE series which are all paper element type.

Greetings to all here at MCF! I frequent quite a number of local car forums and not one of them lack a anti-toyota SE thread. Just sharing my experience with them with you guys... which was surprizingly very very different from the things I hear: The moment I step in(UBI), the SEs tries to make eye contact and trying to move in liao... I had to look away and quickly walk away to avoid being pestered... Just wanted to look at the cars 1st. In contary to what most people would complain about having problems just to get a SE's attention. It was a Sunday too. Alas was served by a very nice gentlemen that was very courteous, polite and helpful. Very humble with his words too. Threw in nice discounts and offers too. No checkbook or dress code prejudices. Do not know if this improvement of service is due to public feedbacks or really I was just plain lucky to get a good SE but I hope you guys do not condem the cars just because of some snobbish SE. In case you people are wondering... I'm below 25 and I wear tshirt and jeans. Cheers!

Does any know know about the Denso Iridium plugs that are made for Toyota & Lexus Cars ? The models are SK16-R11 & SK20-R11 .... suppose to be ultra long life plugs. Read in some US Toyota website that the plugs can last at least 60,000 miles or about 96,000 km ... is this true ?

Hi Folks, Had an unpleasantexperience today. Parked my car behind a toyota picnic at a hotel lobby this morning. Opened up the boot to wait for my boss to load his luggage. Handbrake on, and engine running. The driver of the picnic reversed into my car and bumped into my octy. Enuf for my octy to move back abt 6" to a feet. Was pissed off, cos got enuf space for the picnic to reverse and move out (like parallel parking situation). Luckily, my bumper was fine without any scratches or anything. The picnic had a scar but nothing serious. My mind raced, thinking immediately of the Octy RS bumper... But seeing everything was ok on my end, i decided to let the matter pass. The picnic as driven by a lady driver. All the staff at the hotel was very impressed with the Octy's strength, saying how such an impact did no damage to the car. One up for the octy folks. Cheers

Anyone knows of a good and recommened synthetic ATF for the Toyota's Type-IV transmission oil? The only one that I know is approved is from Amsoil. And nobody is using it at the moment. Is there any real advantage in using this oil?

http://www.riceboi.cjb.net/news.php Toyota Corolla XRS with Celica GTS 1.8l 2zzge engine. 6 speed, 180hp. Very exciting car, because the 2zzge engine was only available on small sized celica or heavy a$$ "voltz" or Matrix, now it is available on Corolla which is light and has good interior space.
