  1. You can control the color of the light from your smartphone. Brembo is a world leader in braking technology, but its new G Sessanta caliper concept is a very weird idea. These stoppers light up, and owners can control the color of the illumination from a smartphone app. The company's video (above) shows the G Sessanta on a motorcycle. However, our pals at Motor1 Italy spoke to Brembo and confirmed this caliper concept applied to automotive applications, too. Brembo sees the illuminated calipers as having two major applications. First, they could look cool aesthetically. It's not hard to imagine rolling through a city at night and getting attention by having the brakes going through a rainbow of colors. Alternatively, the lights could be a way for the brakes to communicate with a driver or rider. As an example, think about how useful it could be to see a red light flashing to advise you to change the brake pads. Another possibility is having them function as additional brake lights to make the vehicle more visible when slowing down. The exterior design of the G Sessanta concept takes styling inspiration from Brembo's first brake caliper from 1972. The shape is the company's vision for calipers of the future. The illuminated caliper seems like a perfect match with Brembo's mirror-finish Greentive rotors because the light would bounce off of them. When showing them off last year, Brembo said that the discs lasted longer than traditional ones. A cool touch was that a Brembo logo appeared when the surface was worn down enough as a way to advise people that it was time to swap them out. Brembo has been working on more stylish calipers for a while. In 2019, the company introduced concepts for patterned stoppers at the Geneva Motor Show. The designs included argyle, orange camouflage, neon letters, cheetah print, leaves, Keith Haring drawings, and a dragon.
  2. The paint on my Brembo calipers are chipped and faded. Any recommendations for respraying the Brembo calipers? Inclusive of the Brembo decals and clear lacquer to protect the decals. I already bought the caliper rebuild kit to replace the pistol seals after the respray.

  4. I have seen many shops and free lance painters claiming to be able to paint calipers in a day and some without even removing the wheels! My question is: What kind of paint is used? Without proper baking and prearing the surface to be painted, does the paint last? LPPL if one has gotta paint it again right? Without removing the entire caliper, does it mean the inside of the caliper will not be painted and there will be two colours? The old and the new? For those who has gone this route, please share your experience. I am aksing cause I just removed my calipers to spray them as I believe it will be more thorough.
  5. Which one will you choose? paint ur calipers? - did it before, now and then re-coat till paint too thick. not easy to clean cause brake dust like to stick deep into the high temp paint... brake covers? - plus point cleaning is so much easier! but many say calipers cant breath... silicon might fall off... made in china ones might melt... screw or rivet might damage or weaken calipers... worse is tat cover so big disc so small look funny... like poser... wat u think? upgrade disc to slotted or drilled - logically better performance? but daily stop go traffic in SG my friends use say pads finish faster... hmmmm... true? upgrade disc and rotors - unless you get ENDLESS or SPOON or Brembo or a good brand (means very expensive) cheaper one i have heard stories of excessive pad wear, leak, loose, not a perfect fit etc... haiz... So i thought, just spray a nice coat of high temp paint... then it wont look like poser / fake... BUT then i saw this shop in JB had this endless brake cover and my it looked good... really having 2nd thoughts now... i checked on the net (cgi.ebay.com.sg/RED-ENDLESS-Caliper-cover-kit)...and found out thailand does soooooo many types... think i might... just might.. maybe will try the brake covers... anyone knows where to get in SG? the latest endless types...

  9. I'm changing the front of my brakes to red brembos and the back keeping them stock. Since the last post on painting calipers was more than 3 years back, anyone with any recommendation on where to get my back calipers painted red to match my front? Thks!
  10. Hi all, any tips or recommendations on products to clean/restore brake calipers to original condition? currently, my BBK is abit dull-looking, esp with the brake-dust, dirt, etc buildup after time~ are the cleaner products for rims brake-dust suitable as it may be too abrasive for brake calipers?
  11. Hi there.. does anyone know where can I get Brembo brake calipers?
  12. Hi guys, Just painted my calipers red at Soh Brothers this afternoon. Total job took about 3.5 hrs to complete. They didn't use high temp paint though so I am not sure how long this will last. Anyway for $40, I don't mind getting them repainted again if they fails. Check it out... Any idea where I can get high temp decal for this? Thinking of putting Lexus wording on the front brakes.
  13. Hi All, Any1 interested in aftermarket cross drilled or slotted discs for the front?? These are from Brembo's new sport line addition and are a direct fit onto the superb. Let me know...We're talking of S$450 inclusive of installation. Cheers

  20. Hi all. Have a question; how do i maintain the cleaniness of a painted caliper. Seems to get very dirty and water and soap does not seem to get it spottlessly clean . 22. hi wondering do anyone have any sources for painting brake calipers? preferably with VHT paint
  23. I was toying with the idea ever since I started my previous project on my rear brake drums. I decided against bright colours (red, blue...) as I really do not have performance brakes, and making others think so would not serve to do my "sleeper-mode" car any good. I just didn't like how my "corroded" and ugly brake calipers were looking. This was how it looked:
