After seeing those water sheeting videos on EnviroShield, I couldn't wait but to grab hold of it and did 2 coats of on thursday and because it is so easy to use, did 2 coats of it with an interval of 10mins. This morning, I took some pictures of water beading being left overnight. Beadings may not be as tight and round compared to collinite but just a 5 mins drive and all water droplets are gone. The best is, there are no water marks with dirts being left behind. Below pictures taken with 2 coats of enviroshield I did a 3rd coat today. Not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on me. I realised the shine get better after each coat. I love the sparkling looks enviroshield produced like a mirror and of cos the ease of use. On the other hand, I find collinite added depth to its color which maybe better for dark color? A coat of collinite 476 two weeks ago.

Any one have or know any workshop that can customize heat shield. I know of some FL outside doing with those Aircon form. But I am not looking at that. I am looking for those aluminum type. Please advice on that Tks

Went for 60K servicing yesterday at BM and as I was collecting my vehicle after servicing, was issued with a servicing chit indicating that in order to enjoy the extended warranty for another 2 years, I have to come back to them for servicing every 10,000 km or 6 mths. If not, they will not warranty the parts during the extended warranty. When I bought the extended warranty (Toyota Shield, paid $500+) in 2006, was not told of regular servicing at AD to enjoy the extended warranty period. Now its seem that I have to stick to them for another 2 years. I wrote this because I have to change my front disc brake pads next servicing and was informed that it will cost $345+ at BM for a pair (4 brake pads). I could have got it much cheaper outside. So, should I change my front pair brake pad at outside workshop?

In the process, somehow i managed to know the in-charge, & found out that they give FOC RS worth S$50 for mobile volunteeers to design & test their products. With this applied on your Omnia HD, you will no longer need any other form of protection(i.e. crystal casing,pouches,etc) as it is scratch proof and also comes with a 5 yrs warranty. I've installed a cone filter in my ride and find that I need a customised alu heat shield to insulate the filter from the hot air in the engine bay...any idea of any workshops that can customise a heat shield? Cheers

Hi all, I have just received a letter from Borneo Motors that I am eligible for the new Toyota Shield Programme which is basically an extension of warranty for Toyota Cars. The original manufacturer's warranty is only for 3 yrs / 100,000km whichever comes first. Toyota Shield extends it to 5 yrs / 140,000km. For me, i am a normal driver with annual milage of 20,000km. The extended warranty is fully transferable within the warranty period.. The extend of the cover is The Extent of Cover Essentially, coverage includes: 1) Engine - Mechanical 2) Engine - Fuel Supply System 3) Engine - Cooling System 4) Engine - Exhaust and Emission Control System (due to premature failure) 5) Engine - Electrical and Electronic 6) Transmission 7) Front-wheel Drive 8) Rear-wheel Drive 9) Steering - Mechanical 10) Steering - Hydraulic 11) Steering - Electrical and Electronic 12) Front & Rear Suspension 13) Brakes - Mechanical 14) Brakes - Hydraulic 15) Brakes - ABS 16) Factory Air Conditioning 17) Factory Audio System 18) Electrical 19) Safety Items 20) Towing Charges (due to breakdown) And the best deal is the cost of getting this extended warranty is $600 However, as i read further the terms and conditions as stated in the contract. They have added new conditions.. The original Toyota Manufacturer's warranty do not explicity state that you have to maintain, service, repair ur toyota with Borneo Motors. In the new toyota shield, this clause is added.. else warranty will be rejected.. and they are very strict about the servicing period.. the 10,0000km / 6 months whichever is earlier thing.. Brothers, if you were me. would you take up this offer? I intend to drive this ride for another 4-5 yrs.. Ride is > 1 yr old.. Understand that servicing at Borneo Motors is , and replacements of consumables and etc is even more at Borneo Motors.. At first glance, the offer looks enticing, but if you study the fine details.. Its apparently not so. So should I or should I not take the bite? -

hi all, I'm thinking of DIY-ing a heat shield for car. The material i'm looking for is the a bit thick foam rubber type so that the heat shield can form a seal with the bonnet. Any bro here know where can get? Check through the previous posts but dun have what i'm looking for. And also any idea how to join the edges of the heat shield rubber material together at the edges? Tape? Glue? Cable ties? If successful hope can share some pics with you guys...
