  1. Dedicating this thread to match day discussion. From prematch build-up, starting line-up and scoreline predictions, to in match stream share, to post match analysis. All fans welcome. My predicted starting XI for Liverpool away to WBA would be: (4-3-3) - Reina; GJ, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Gerrard, Lucas, Allen; Downing, Borini, Suarez. Rooting for a 2-1 away win. Stevie will captain us for the 250th times! Legend.
  2. Blue Man City wins EPL. Blue Chelsea wins Champions League. Blue Williams F1 won the last F1 race. Predict the next blue team to win- any competition. Btw, i understand political discussions are banned in mcf.
  3. Heard this guy drives a Jaguar in UK lol its ridiculous in football S'pore Kelong King fakes entire teams, makes up to $700,000 on each bet THE seemingly insignificant international football match played in Bahrain on Sept 7 became an international sensation - for the wrong reasons. The Togo team that lost the friendly match 0-3 to Bahrain was exposed as being made up of imposters. And the result appeared to have been fixed. How could this happen? Who would be bold enough to pull this off? The answer: Singapore's kelong king Wilson Raj Perumal. Perhaps the more important question is: How did he do it? For the first time, two people who know Wilson Raj's connections have stepped forward to reveal intimate details of how he ran his illegal match-fixing business. Wilson Raj has been named by sources and newspapers to be central to a web of deceit involving African teams and match fixing on an international scale involving millions of dollars. The Togo con-job would have gone unnoticed if not for the Togolese Football Federation getting wind of the fraudsters through an official who was at the match. Wilson Raj and men linked to him are now being investigated by the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) for arranging the "fake" Togo team to play Bahrain, BFA vice-president Sheik Ali Khalifa told The New Paper. A measure of how bold - or desperate - Wilson Raj is can be seen in his involvement despite being on the run from the Singapore authorities since July 13. He failed to appear for his appeal hearing against the sentence of five years' corrective training for injuring an auxiliary police officer. Most would expect the die-hard football crook to lie low after earlier convictions for match-fixing here in 1995and 1999. Surely, he would not risk repeating the same offences that got him jailed. Instead, he had gone from small-time local match-fixer to global match hustler, said two sources who know Wilson Raj. source http://www.asiaone.com/News/The%2BNew%2BPa...925-239092.html
  4. F1 teams are close to agreeing upon a new engine formula for the six-year period beginning in 2013. Until then, development of the current 2.4 litre V8s will remain 'frozen', to be replaced thereafter by similarly powerful engines that use less fuel, emit less pollution and are affordable for the small teams. Spain's El Mundo Deportivo newspaper said an in-principle agreement has been reached for a four cylinder, 1.5 litre engine equipped with a twin-turbo and direct injection. The new formula would reportedly also involve KERS. "If F1 has to develop something helpful for real (road) driving conditions, then the best solution is for an engine that is turbocharged and GDI (gasoline direct injection," Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa told Autocar magazine at the Beijing Motor Show. "That is what we would support," he said. Mercedes' Norbert Haug agrees that smaller engines are likely for reasons of consumption and emissions, but warns that high technology needs to remain a crucial focus. "If you fly from Europe to Japan on a 747, you would use more fuel than an entire F1 season. We need to see the whole picture," he insisted.
  5. Think the Nissan GT-R is heavy enough as is? It still manages to run circles around most everything on the road, but there are limits. Especially when it's placed on a race track. And those limits are becoming a source of controversy in the nascent FIA GT1 World Championship. The series' inaugural race took place at Abu Dhabi's Yas Island Marina circuit this past weekend, but the FIA held a test session beforehand in an apparent effort to equalize performance between the varied machinery being campaigned. Former F1 driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen took each of the six types of cars in the series for a few hot laps. While he was supposed to take 10 to15 laps in each car, he took fewer, and those were unevenly distributed, according to reports. Based on his feedback, series organizers then imposed weight penalties on the different vehicles. The Corvette C6.R and Lamborghini Murcielago R-SV were each saddled with 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of ballast, and the Maserati MC12 was burdened with an extra 25 kilos (55 lbs). The Matech Ford GT was left as is, while the Aston Martin DBR9 was awarded a larger air restrictor to help it catch up. The Nissans, however, were given 30 kilograms (66 lbs) of extra weight, and as a result were unable to keep pace with the competition. Subsequently, the two squads campaigning the race-spec GT-R
  6. Three other teams were in the running to secure the sponsorship backing of the state-owned Malaysian oil company Petronas in 2010. Vice president of corporate services Ahmad Nizam Salleh revealed that, as well as considering staying with Sauber, Petronas looked into supporting Williams or Lotus. Ultimately, Petronas signed a long term deal to become title sponsor at Mercedes GP, although Salleh told the Bernama news agency that the sponsorship will be reviewed "from year to year for the next five years". "Four teams were short-listed -- Williams, Sauber, Mercedes and Lotus," he is quoted as saying by The Star newspaper at Mercedes' livery launch in Stuttgart earlier this week. "But Mercedes offered the best package and what they asked for was quite attractive," Sallah added. He said the decision to sign with Mercedes was made before Michael Schumacher agreed to return to F1 this year with the German marque. "Schumacher's return makes for bigger visibility and it is an unexpected mileage for us," said Salleh. "We heard rumours that he was thinking of coming back to F1 when we started the negotiations, but he was still attached to another team (Ferrari) and we had no inkling at that point that he was signing up," he added.
  7. SINGAPORE: The International Olympics Committee is still hoping that the United States will re-consider its decision to pull out some of its athletes for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore in 2010. Organisers were hit with news last week that the swimming, cycling and shooting teams from the US were not competing. The IOC now wants the US to review its decision. "Because having American athletes in the sport is very important, and the United States is one of the best nurseries for young athletes, not only at the school level, but the university and collegiate system in the United States is outstanding," said Kevan Gosper, chairman, Press Commission, International Olympic Committee. The US said the Youth Olympic Games seemed more like a world-youth peace programme than a high-level competition, but the IOC insisted there is a good balance. "If anything at all, the focus of the IOC and teams are still very much on competition and I think for us it is managing it so that they will make sure that the athletes have time to take part in culture and education programmes, so at the end of the day, it will end up to be a very good balance," said Ng Ser Miang, VP, International Olympic Committee. The US swim team said it has a four-year outlook for its youth national team, and the Youth Olympic Games was not part of that plan.

  9. Finally it has happened. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/76292 FOTA teams to launch breakaway series By jonathan noble Thursday, June 18th 2009, 22:43 GMT FOTAThe Formula One Teams' Association announced on Thursday night that it is setting up a breakaway championship. Following a four hour meeting at Renault's Enstone factory, the eight members of FOTA - Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, BMW, Toyota, Brawn, Red Bull and Scuderia Toro Rosso - said they had grown frustrated with the FIA's stance against the organisation, and had no option but to create a series of their own. "The teams cannot continue to compromise on the fundamental values of the sport and have declined to alter their original conditional entries to the 2010 World Championship," said a statement issued by FOTA after the meeting. "These teams therefore have no alternative other than to commence the preparation for a new Championship which reflects the values of its participants and partners. This series will have transparent governance, one set of regulations, encourage more entrants and listen to the wishes of the fans, including offering lower prices for spectators worldwide, partners and other important stakeholders. "The major drivers, stars, brands, sponsors, promoters and companies historically associated with the highest level of motorsport will all feature in this new series." F1 teams were given until Friday evening to remove the conditions attached to the provisional entries they posted earlier this month, or risk being left off the grid in 2010. FIA president Max Mosley wrote to the teams yesterday offering them some of the concessions that they wanted to see regarding governance of the sport, but made it clear that he was sticking to plans for the introduction of a budget cap. In his letter, Mosley also urged the teams to sign up to the championship before sorting out the final version of the regulations and a redrafted Concorde Agreement. In response to that letter, the teams met at Renault's Enstone headquarters on Thursday evening for lengthy talks, where they finally decided that there was no way a compromise deal could be reached with the FIA. The teams expressed frustration that their efforts to try and improve F1 had been rebuffed by the governing body and the sport's commercial rights holder. "Since the formation of FOTA last September the teams have worked together and sought to engage the FIA and commercial rights holder, to develop and improve the sport," said the statement. "Unprecedented worldwide financial turmoil has inevitably placed great challenges before the F1 community. FOTA is proud that it has achieved the most substantial measures to reduce costs in the history of our sport. "In particular the manufacturer teams have provided assistance to the independent teams, a number of which would probably not be in the sport today without the FOTA initiatives. The FOTA teams have further agreed upon a substantial voluntary cost reduction that provides a sustainable model for the future. "Following these efforts all the teams have confirmed to the FIA and the commercial rights holder that they are willing to commit until the end of 2012. "The FIA and the commercial rights holder have campaigned to divide FOTA. "The wishes of the majority of the teams are ignored. Furthermore, tens of millions of dollars have been withheld from many teams by the commercial rights holder, going back as far as 2006. Despite this and the uncompromising environment, FOTA has genuinely sought compromise." The announcement by FOTA looks certain to overshadow the British Grand Prix, which takes place at Silverstone for the final time this weekend and which Mosley is expected to attend tomorrow. With FOTA's stance now seemingly leaving no room for a deal possible, its likely that more new teams will be added to the FIA's 2010 Formula 1 entry list. The inclusion of Ferrari, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso on that roster remains open to debate, however, with the FIA claiming that the teams committed themselves to F1 in a deal agreed several years ago.

  14. Have you heard the latest news of ALL English Premier League teams will be required to play 1 game in an overseas country by 2011? Cities overseas will need to bid for the right to host the game, so I presume we could see Singapore in the hat! Would you be prepared to go to the National Stadium and pay $200 for an EPL ticket? Without a doubt, I can see Manchester Utd vs Liverpool taking place in an asian country. But if their respective directors have anything to do with it, it will most likely be hosted in America. Which teams would you like to see come over if the big two can't?
  15. if u put on the emblems in the forms of words or club badge, say man united, arsenal or chelsea, do u think yr car will be more prone to 'attacks' by car vandals (a.k.a. rival fans of other teams)?
  16. Bang & Olufsen Enters the Automotive Sector Corporate/Events | Just Announced Fri 13 Jan 2006 ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., Jan. 12 -- Bang & Olufsen, the global provider of high-end home theaters and custom multi-room music systems, together with Audi, the leading German manufacturer of distinctive, luxury automobiles, is proud to announce the arrival of the Advanced Sound System that is custom-made for the A8 and S8 models in addition to the new Audi Roadjet concept car unveiled this week at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Advanced Sound System will make its debut to the North American public this week and will be available in the summer of 2006. The system sets new standards in automotive audio in the clarity of its sound staging for all passengers, its controlled tonal balance, and its exceptional response to changes in background noise conditions. "Bang & Olufsen is world renowned for our knowledge and expertise in the field of hi-fi and video," stated Bang & Olufsen CEO Torben Ballegaard Sorensen. "Our mission is to produce high quality products with emphasis on design, craftsmanship and innovation. In addition, Audi has established its position in the car industry through innovation and quality. Therefore, both companies were driven by the ambition to give the customer optimal enjoyment and a unique experience, and we are very pleased to collaborate with such a strong brand." Unrivalled Performance The new system has been specially adapted to the conditions inside the car, providing a unique musical experience while driving. This experience is achieved by the use of a powerful digital signal processor, discrete amplification for each loudspeaker and Acoustic Lenses. Acoustic Lens Technology* is licensed exclusively to Bang & Olufsen. It provides a wide horizontal sound dispersion of high frequencies in the car's interior. The Acoustic Lenses automatically rise out of the dashboard when the sound system is engaged, ensuring an extremely detailed acoustic stage from any seat in the car. The Advanced Sound system also employs Bang & Olufsen's patented digital amplifier technology, ICEpower, which supplies the 14 loudspeaker units with an unprecedented 1000 watts of power. The system stands out from others on the market because it was created to solve the problem of uneven spatial characteristics of the sound stage. It can be optimized for up to four passenger settings with its 14channel digital signal sound processor, and each of the 14 loudspeaker units are powered by its own amplifier in a self-contained cabinet, which results in minimal exterior sound leakage outside of the car. In addition, the system continuously compensates for changes in interfering background noises such as those caused by the engine, tires, air conditioning, wind or even changes in pavement or rain conditions. Audi also has great expectations for the cooperation with Bang & Olufsen, as evidenced by the Advanced Sound System's presence in the new Roadjet car concept. "The character of the Audi A8 as the most dynamic saloon car in the luxury segment is molded by trend setting design and technology, and the Bang & Olufsen Sound System specially developed for each car rounds this off," says Dr. Martin Winterkorn, CEO at Audi. The Advanced Sound System will be offered as an upgrade in the A8/S8 class automobiles. In Germany, it is priced at 6000 Euro and US pricing is yet to be set. Expected arrival date is July 2006. *Acoustic Lens Technology is licensed from Sausalito Audio Works LLC. http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/news/view.php?id=3537&cid=
