Kb27 Supersonic January 2, 2017 Share January 2, 2017 It depends on what you buy. If you buy solid wood types of furniture, it will last. If you buy chipboard type, they tend to soak up moisture and rot away. I got one Ikea door disintegrated due to the design. The frame which use mostly wood glue came apart and the slats starting falling out.

Pinobii Hypersonic January 2, 2017 Share January 2, 2017 I used to enjoy to go ikea, loves the atmosphere and very relaxing jalan2 there. But i realize everytime i go ikea i buy 不三不四 items, end up store room full of ikea things. So i feel that temptation very big, so now hardly go there unless i have things to buy on my mind. The food i think was best at mediocre. But i still enjoy the food. I don't like the salmon, meatball(so so) and cakes(too sweet). But i like their hotdog, curry puff, chicken wing and of cos free flow of drink Young man got to IKEA de meh? Thought it's a uncle and auntie hangout

Noticed their solid wood furnitures are priced similar to neighborhood furniture stores..not necessarily cheap

Lala81 Hypersonic January 2, 2017 Share January 2, 2017 (edited) Personally I feel that it is ok to let them enjoy these kind of food occasionally. Rather than ban it from their diet totally and then let them find out about how good it tastes when they go to school and have their own pocket money to buy own food. Train them from young to eat healthy but also enjoy some unhealthy food they like in moderation. My parents restricted me from all sorts of fast food and processed food when I was small. So when I grew up and had my own money, end up going out to try all these forbidden food and eating them everyday. End up becoming super fat also anyway. Lol. Agreed. Treats are still treats. As long as their normal meals are healthy. When go out eat French fries, ice cream etc is fine by me. It depends on what you buy. If you buy solid wood types of furniture, it will last. If you buy chipboard type, they tend to soak up moisture and rot away. I got one Ikea door disintegrated due to the design. The frame which use mostly wood glue came apart and the slats starting falling out. It happened to my house doors many years ago as well. From a time that predates ikea. Haha my dad used to hammer back the slats so that we can close the doors. Hmm most ikea furniture can at least last ten to fifteen years. No problem. My cupboard was from ikea. Only thrown away last year for reno. Lasted 20 years. Edited January 2, 2017 by Lala81
Fuelsaver Supercharged January 2, 2017 Share January 2, 2017 Better watch the weight of items you're putting onto those compressed sawdust shelving. Add additional support if you need or get solid wood.Right. My bookshelf sagged. So I remove and overturned the shelf n now looked ok.

Kb27 Supersonic January 2, 2017 Share January 2, 2017 (edited) I do like the Ivar. Strong, solid pine. Very versatile, can built into many shapes. I customized cut and shape it into a horizontal shelf and mount inside my van. Edited January 2, 2017 by Kb27
Vratenza Supersonic January 2, 2017 Share January 2, 2017 I got 3 sets of IVAR series bookshelves/study desk self assembled.... Almost 20yr! (Damn... Am I old...) Still going strong.... Now used by my youngest brother who took over my room when I moved out after marriage. When ever I go back to my parent's place for visit.. It never fail to amaze me how well they hold up... No sagging no rotting. The only thing negative (personally) is that I am sensitive to the pine wood resin/dust. My whole hand developed itchy blistering rash that lasted 2 weeks after I was done with assembly. Still vivid in my mind! ↡ Advertisement
