Not afraid of it falling. But afraid of it hitting my hands when I raised my hands. Esp when changing clothes, kena few times. Lucky low speed, only bruising. The new DC KDK fan was ordered from online source at decent price with delivery and local warranty. Delivery was pretty fast within a few days of ordering. Today decided to get off my bums to get it done. Unboxing: Attaching the fan blades with philips head screw driver: **SWITCH OFF THE POWER TO THE FAN AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER LEVEL AND WALL SWITCH!!! ** Removed the old 5yr old noisy AC fan: Original hook and electrical wires ready for installation. All the wires trimmed (cut off the old mashed up oxidised bare ends) and connected in the following order ground-neutral-live: Attached the covers securely and we are good to go! Few comments, although both old and new models are 5 blades and same blade length, the DC model is much much lighter. The medium speed for DC model is equivalent to my maximum for the old AC model. At max speed, the DC is almost like a mini typhoon... Most importantly.... The new DC model is damn quiet compared to the old AC model! Overall very satisfied with the purchase and exchange some elbow grease and a t-shirt of sweat DIYing for $50-$80. Satisfaction of DIY..... Priceless... . Gnahp Twincharged January 15, 2017 Share January 15, 2017 If you are fixing onto a concrete slab, best to use a eye ring raw blot. For false ceiling, the mounting on the ceiling grid to ensure the fan is secured is very important. Fan turning movement cause vibrations and mounting is very important. Also need to be careful to ensure when you lift your hands, it is below the fan blades. Sometimes when playing with kids, don't lift them high around ceiling fans. I like ceiling fans, it is one of the most effective cooling appliances for our weather. I kiasi, I fitted it directly to the concrete ceiling slab with oversize wall anchors, had to drill a few holes as some holes hit the rebar in the slab. my ceiling height created a different problem, it needed a long tube version of the fan otherwise those standard length fan will be too far from the floor. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
