This road lot of cyclist already had accident over there. 

Not sure if this cyclist wear any helmet or not.

Anyway I always told my friend to wear proper gear when cycling and better invest in a good cycling helmet, not those $5-10 cheapo helmet. 

Best is to protect both head when cycling.

My cycling buddy ever sent a video of a road cyclist with helmet, cycling at walking pace through a sheltered porch .... at the end of the porch was a drain with grating.

The front wheel got stuck and less than a sec, can see him and bike rotate on the front wheel axis....rear  wheel in the air and his face/head struck the pavement and broke his neck.  

Was told that person died instantly from the broken neck.

SImilar to how a jockey would have thrown off a fallen horse breaking the neck.

So to all road cyclist:

Never approach drain gratings straight...always diagonally.

Very true.. for me i even more kaisi.. i will skip the drain grating completely when possible.. another thing is they are fxxking slippery when wet

Before car park exit of my estate, diagonal drain grating goes from left to right.

These grating is immediately before elevated pedestrian crossing

yeah, was at a busy bus stop outside clementi NTUC over the weekend, 2 cyclists wanted to cycle thru the bus stop and kept ringing their bells expecting everybody to give way to them.

am sure cyclists will behave better if they had to be registered and were traceable. but AMAP recommended no licensing.

That Clementi bus stop outside is always super crowded. 

Worried that we might knocked down small kids or elderly, me and cycling kakis always dismount from bicycle and push our bicycle slowly thru those busy / crowded places. 

No point keep ringing bells when those elderly having poor listening and small kids running around. 

Think more education and enforcement should be performed to ensure the safety of the general public.

Yeah bad design. Should have a little raised platform at the exit for pedestrians to step onto first. 

But then there will still be people gluded to their phones and don't checked left amd right.
