He gave hand signal to hold.

Then suddenly sprint forward, causing his friends to follow thinking it's safe to do so.

I think calling him a along stupid was wrong, calling his friends stupid was wrong too.

Because all of them lacks road sense to take such stupid move.

Maybe they all thought they could all output 2000W and outsprint the bus.....

But 2000W is the total, not EACH.

I am the humchee pavement cyclist, so i cant speak in this aspect. If  i am correct, both @inlinesixand  yourself are the more frequent road cyclists here, can you guys share your view about this case ? Should the bus stop for the cyclists  in the middle of the road   and wait for them to clear? Or should the cyclists stop  for the bus, or should they route to the right of the bus ?

I do pace cyclists when come close to such left turn junction to avoid myself coming to a complete stop in the broad. But this in itself is never easy because  speed of a bicycle is  too slow for a car to pace,   yet if we speed up to overtake him,  we may be seen as being bully or even at risk of causing him to fall. Worst is there are times when some cyclists just suddebly dash across the junction from footpath, i have to end up stop in the main road which is very risky as i may end up getting a rear end.

Like to hear from you guys.

I almost smashed into left front passenger door of a Merc along Moulmein Road (before junction of Mandalay Road).

The driver overtook me and turn left.

A lot of time, drivers can't judge cyclist speed properly.  A cyclist could be doing 30km/h.

At 30km/h, 500m can be completed in 1 minute.

In the above scenario, I will filter right into the road and overtake the bus.

The bus driver will not able to see cyclists properly on the side mirror, especially with dark sky.

Actually to me is simple logic to give way if I am the cyclist. I know my body is fragile and will be minced meat in the worst outcome possible on a wrong day, so why need to push my luck. And as a leisure cyclist, I am very sympathetic towards those who are on the road to earn a living. They are there to put food on the table for their families, while I am there simply to exercise so why need to exert dominance or proof right of way or something.

For me if I can see a bus ahead signalling to filter left, I will just slow down and let them pass. No need to think hard that the driver should consider that I am riding straight so he must slow down and let me pass first blah blah blah. My timing for the trip might be affected but I got to live another day to enjoy cycling. Very logical thing to do lah.

Stupid 1st rider. Zero road sense.

Almost got his friends killed.

@Atonchia

I don't really blame them.

They look like Band of Brothers.........die also die together

Stupid people don't really know they are stupid or some is even born stupid. Not their fault😁

Some of these people are too stress up for the past 2 years, thus looking for reincarnation or a fast track to Heaven.

We had seen too many of these facepalm situations past 2 years during this Covid pandemic.

Scientist or Doctors should look into the side effect of Covid and does it really affect the brain, IQ and EQ? 😁

Gov should ban leotards. They are dangerous as they deprive sufficient air to the brain to make sensible decisions, they may also result in hallucinations giving rise to abnormal or unreasonable behaviours.

This case is straight forward cyclists fault.

They can see the bus as they came up from behind.

The bus driver already signal the indicator to turn left into the dormitory.  They had enough time and distance to both slow down and filter out to the road.

Probably have the mentality "this is cycling lane" just stick to it. "Bus won't / can't enter"

Sometimes accident happens by being too rigid and not taking defensive actions. Which also applies on accident during driving too.

TMCR cycling lane has a few points where there are junctions which of course will have to follow traffic lights.

Then there are construction sites entry points where heavy vehicles will enter. Few such points are along the dedicated cycling lane mainly at the Northbound direction.

Southbound direction has this dormitory.

They are really lucky for this instance.

Not really.

The tighter the suit more blood gets retain in head, like G-suit where fighter pilots wear, these are tight suit.

Gov should ban helmet instead🤣🤣

Too tight can restrict blood flow.🤣

Hahahah 🤣

Even at 500-600 watts for 10 secs very powerful already.

Like we love to say "tune to increase power of car engine....must make sure have bigger brakes too"

If they have big power output, they better have good brakes too.

This case the brain didn't send signal to activate the brakes.🤦
