@turboflat4 i think your fren made a bad choice.

One of GM in my previous employer had a relationship with his PA. PA was XMM. I know both of them well.

My wife and I are colleague. When I met her, my position was higher than her.

After so many pages of cautions, sample and advised, @silangkia must have regretted for asking for opinions ...

With so many long writing of advised, he now think twice about the [gorgeous]  confusing signal....

I think he better join @philipkee in the latter search for foreign brides. Chances of getting a hit far exit his office one ...

Wah So drama ah, @turboflat4

Like very fun hor?

Fun for spectators maybe?

I just want a quiet life, and I hate crap like this. I felt bad for the guy. And also the amg guys who went down. I think could easily have escalated into a STOMP type saga.

Anyway, my personal ethos is don't mix work and personal life. After that people are free to choose whatever they want to do with their lives.

How can anyone know a choice is going to turn out good or bad at the outset?

You got lucky and my congrats. I know others also managed this without issues. But for every success story there is at least one horror story.

If the job doesn't matter, then go for it lah. But don't forget, a bad reputation can follow one around not just in the same industry, but throughout society in general. Especially in this screwed up country with such kay poh idiots everywhere.

Well, it’s quite common to see fellow colleague dating each other in big 4 firm as well as consulting firm.

I had seen ppl with reputations survived within that industry. That bad reputation is work related.

Supercharged

I’ve seen my fair share of extramarital affairs in the office and needless to say, murder will out and it was just a matter of time before they came to light. A colleague was married and was a nice gentleman to everybody. Unfortunately, he fell for a secretary who was also married and their affair was soon uncovered by their spouses who complained to the HR. Even though both of them were dismissed in a low profile, words about the affair quickly got around the whole company.

Another colleague got into an affair with his subordinate, whose husband worked in the same company as well. Rumors spread like wildfire through the company as the two were spotted behaving intimately, and whistle-blowing was made to HR on his favoritism towards her. It got so ugly that his superior flew in from US just to dismiss him and pacify the department.

However, the persons who were most hurt in these situations were always the innocent children, me included as my father abandoned the family for another woman when I was young.

Hence, to me, extramarital affair is a no-no regardless of whether it occurs inside or outside office. However, unless there is an immoral motive to begin with, if two colleagues are singles and date for the purpose of getting to know one another better besides work-related matters and with the ultimate goal of uniting if the stars are aligned, I see no reason why it should be discouraged. Many people know one another through work, and for some their social circles may revolve around work and only work, so if co-workers are automatically disqualified to be life partners, one may have just dismissed a population of prospects.

girl: don't talk to me I don't want to hear anything you have to say. Don't disturb me I will sit over here and want nothing from you. I want to be left alone.

Why are you not saying anything. Why are you leaving me alone all by myself here. Have you nothing to say to me. Why are you letting me alone so far away?
