My study table arrived from ezbuy. 

What's the safest way to open these? I have regular claw hammer but I don't have a crow/prybar. 

Scrap wood frame done with nails. 

Bought some cotton gloves earlier. Lol scared of splinters.

Try using a flat screwdriver and hammer it in between the wood to create a gap before using the claw hammer. 

Less likely to damage the surface.

The claw of the hammer or a chisel is sufficient to remove the tie up. Just need to break the shorter side...lay it flat on the floor first...🤕😁

This is kinda repair. My IKEA easy chair is constantly coming apart/screws are loosen, I think it's due to me moving it around.

The mortise and tenon joint comes apart.

 

So I disassemble the whole chair and glue all the joints and dowels together with wood glue. Now the chair is more stable and "locked" together.

 

Damaged allen head furniture screws after using for sometime. It can be removed by appropriate size torx if need be.

Quite funny. The delivery guy (PRC) brought it over and leaned it against the wall and it started to come upright again and i quickly supported it before readjusting the base outwards to lean more against the wall.
Then he say "don't worry, wont topple one" in mandarin.
I'm like "..." Not sure sure where your false confidence came from since its such a narrow base and unsupported if it is upright.

Any kind, cooking oil, mineral oil. See how it works. I think the adhesive will come off easily.

If no wood glue available, can also insert a few toothpicks into the slot before forcing the joining part in.

I will use a hammer and a minus screw driver.

With just a chisel screw driver and a claw hammer, took damn long to get this open man. 

Between this and the other smaller legs package, took me one hour to pry this open with one person. This table surface frame was difficult to pry open. There was one joint which took me ten mins just to get open. Comparatively the legs section one the nails were easier to pry apart. 

Part of this time was also reducing risk of injury. lot of exposed nails from the pieces I pried away. Which I had to hammer down to reduce risk of hurting anyone handling it later. Splinters everywhere. Had to use broom then vacuum. 

Lucky I had some foresight to order cotton gloves from horme when I bought stuff. Gloves have multiple splinters. One pair of cotton gloves chui by the end with multiple splinters. 

So not even tried to assemble it yet. That took up the free time I had today.

You need a pair of reinforced gloves. The cotton ones don’t cut it.

Hmmm OK lah. Don't do this for a living or often.

The cotton gloves are good enough. Just use and throw. 

I'm already reconsidering whether I want to go through this again if I order a study table for my two kids.

I use cut resistant gloves, keep a pair or 2 around the house. It is very useful.
