  1. Final link of new KPE and TPE interchange completed ahead of schedule sources: https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/final-link-of-new-kpe-and-tpe-interchange-completed-ahead-of-schedule SINGAPORE - The final link of the interchange between Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) and Tampines Expressway (TPE) has been completed ahead of schedule, Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean said in a Facebook post on Monday (Nov 9). Residents will have more direct links to and from the KPE and TPE with the new interchange, which was previously projected to be completed by June 2021. This will help improve traffic flow on the TPE as well as the network of roads that lead out of the growing Punggol Town area. Previous extensions of the interchange include a new road to TPE (towards the Seletar Expressway) that provided motorists an additional route between Pasir Ris and Punggol last November. Another extension to Punggol Central Road in November 2018 took motorists to Halus link, which then connects to the KPE (towards East Coast Parkway) and to the TPE (towards Changi). Mr Teo, who is also a Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, visited the new slip road that connects Punggol Central to TPE on Monday with Senior Minister of State for Transport and Sustainabilility and the Environment Amy Khor, as well as other MPs of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, Mr Desmond Tan, who is also Minister of State for Home Affairs and Sustainability and the Environment, and Ms Yeo Wan Ling. The link at Lorong Halus allows traffic from Pasir Ris and Punggol to flow smoothly to the westbound TPE towards Jurong. The six phases of the project took five years to complete, said Mr Teo. Parts of the roadway in the new extension rests on 2,000 specially coated piles, which are around 50m deep, he said.
  2. Yesterday was in a bad mood due to CO being *ahem* un-cooperative in the morning as we need to rush down to Changi by 9am. Later, I was at Tampines Mall with CO and after shopping there, she wanted to go Ikea Tampines. Being new to that area in Eastern part of Singapore, I look up Google map and memorized the direction given. Drove out Tampines Mall and supposed to drive along to avenue 9 then 12 before heading to TPE but ended up turning left somewhere and drove straight into Tampines Bus Interchange. Was finding it strange at first when I noticed people queuing up orderly and buses everywhere. Then it struck me! "Shiiit! I'm in the bus interchange! HOLY MOLY!" I yelled. Soon a couple of buses started to turn in and the first driver wad stunned like vegetable. We started looking at each other...loss for words. I waved an apologetic gesture and he waved back, pointing ahead and waved right. Took off and managed to drive out. Ehhhh . . . the question is, any bro out there did this stunt before and will I get a warning letter or what? Should have taken public transport yesterday, damn moody and not being my usual self. HAIZ! . . . . noob.
  3. Today I was exiting from the roof top carpark when I noticed the above scenario. The car was blocking the exit and any SUV or MPV would probably have problems coming out as the space to manoeuvre is limited. The purpose of this thread is not to target at the brand or make but a question which apply to Auto car relying heavily on electronics. As most and more cars relied heavily on it, my understanding that it is still possible to disengage foot/hand brake then put gear to neutral and push the vehicle. Or maybe for this case, it is not advisable as if I am in the same situation, I would push it aside. Appreciate any clarifications on whether one should attempt to push stalled car aside if it is obstructing others. TIA.

  5. A bus crashed into a wall at the Ang Mo Kio bus interchange on Sunday evening, causing a man in his 40s to suffer head injuries. Eight others suffered minor injuries. The injured - who were all passengers on the bus - were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The police said they received a call at 6.15pm. Ms Tammy Tan, senior vice president of corporate communications for SBS Transit said they are investigating the incident. She added that the company sent a team to the hospital to render assistance, but they were denied entry. Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/...ospital-2013092
  6. Was at the train today heading towards Jurong East when it was announced that the trains along the EW line towards Pasir Ris were stalled. I hopped off at the interchange to take the bus instead. I heard that the delay was really disruptive and there a lot of stranded commuters. Anyone experienced the delays as well?
  7. Usually when we go from Upper Serangoon road or MacPherson Rd to PIE/CTE, we have to enter Bendemeer Rd ERP gantry and make a U turn at Whampoa North... but since early this month, the road has been change to direct right turn into PIE/CTE slip road from these two roads without having to pass the gantry. Is this a good news to motorist or will the LTA move the gantry again?
  8. WORK on the $130 million Woodsville Interchange, which will help ease jams for residents in the north-east, officially started on Thursday. The project, made up of three tunnels and one flyer, will connect four roads seamlessly: Bendemeer Road, Serangoon Road, Upper Serangoon Road and MacPherson Road. Currently, these four roads converge in a congested junction, causing heavy traffic jams. Land Transport Authority chief executive Yam Ah Mee said the Woodsville Interchange, when completed in 2011, will boost traffic volume by 30 per cent. It will carry 11,000 vehicles per hour, compared to 8,000 vehicles now. Vehicles also have to wait up to 10 minutes to cross the intersection now. This is expected to be cut to four minutes when the road interchange is up and running, said Mr Yam, who launched the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday with Minister for the Evnironment and Water Resources Yaacob Ibrahim, who is also adviser to the Kolam Ayer Grassroots Organisations. Late last year, LTA officials went around the neighbourhood to brief residents on the road project before work started. A Project Community and Control Centre - or PC Cube - will also be built near the Woodsville Interchange to update residents on the progress of the project. Yr 2011 Complete [thumbsup]
  9. For details over here : http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=1974906 "I'm very angry that while people are actively collecting funds for the earthquake and cyclone victims, there's this potential group going around scaming people!!! Part 1: Around 8pm i went to hougang mall... then just when i was about to go home, i saw this couple being approached by this kid Flash back to 3 weeks back, it was sort of like a deja vu scene: when i was at kovan mrt (outside heartland mall), i was approached by this kid who claimed to be part of some kind of "entrepreneur game" and have to collect $60? or more in order to win? i don't know I asked him for the coy name then, but he tried to skirt the question and then produced this paper clip, and ask me for $10 (saying what people have gave him $10, even more). i say dun have, so he say $5, $2 also can. i dug at my wallet but i was not willing to fork out $2 for it, so i ask him for $1 change. Ok, but today seeing the same scene, I walked forward to try to "listen in". About 2 meters from the couple, this guy approached me. He began with the exact same lines... so i raised my voiced and confronted him there and then. I asked for the company name/organisation name, what was this course they were talking about and why this game need to take so long To that, he replied that the game was continuous..., and the company was a consortium of groups. [Now I know why liao...], called simi "Private Training Hub". Of course i doubted the existence of such a generic coy name... So i asked for the manager name... He gave me this guy's number (his manager i presume), but cannot contact him, so I continue to grill the same guy. (and got his phone number). I retorted that being in this course/coy whatever sh!t, shouldn't he at least know something about the coy? but he gave this excuse that he just joined 2 weeks back, and blah blah blah some crap. So I asserted that what they were doing is tantamount to cheating. The guy who was talking to the couple said that they were not in the know at all (ya right, who would believe now). of course by then the couple's attention were already diverted, the couple ran away after that (my confrontation with the two guys). oh, before that they even compared themselves to tissue sellers. saying they also got no license, same as them. so i say, why not I call mata on the spot... i was suprised he readily accepted the challenge. So i wanted to give them chance... so just give them verbal warning first.. after finding out how many of them were around Part 2: so i walked across to hougang interchange, on the opposite side of the road. initially i wanted to take bus go home liao. but i was getting infuriated that there are these potential cheats out there while people were performing on tv to get donations so i approached the passenger service counter at the bus interchange. but no, they don't want to handle even though it's just outside their premises. they say, "we cannot interfere, you want can call police" so i call mata lor. "Hello police ah? got ginna soliciting money from public without license at hougang mrt outside oub" around 10 minutes later i saw them (the kids) running across to the interchange. (I assume they saw mata) They ran like the wind haha. I walked forward to confront two of those crossing the road. Of course they tried to shake me off, giving lame excuse say got what meeting and all those crap. But i persist and continue to grill this first guy previously and ask what school he from, simi course. oh mean while the other 4 people hanging around eddypsp shop. After lecturing them further, the two guys joined up with the other 4 and were like waiting for me to board my bus... " This is quoted from the website, just to spread some awareness!
