Recently I have been noticing some issues with road signs. Some are blocked by other road signs (too close together ) or by trees. Anyway today at my MSCP some people were spray painting the signs. When I returned, I realised the signs conflict and it also makes the whole place more dangerous. And yes I have feedbacked to HDB as well. So maybe if you encounter road signs that are blocked or signs like this maybe we can share here and be on look out for similar signs.

MOSCOW: China's Huawei, considered a security threat in the US, on Wednesday (Jun 5) signed a deal with Russian telecoms company MTS to develop a 5G network in the country over the next year, The agreement was signed on the sidelines of a meeting between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. The deal will see "the development of 5G technologies and the pilot launch of fifth generation networks in 2019-2020", MTS said in a statement. Quoted in the statement, Huawei's Guo Ping, said he was "very happy" with the agreement "in an area of strategic importance like 5G". The Chinese telecom giant has been in turmoil since May, when the Trump administration banned US companies from selling high-tech equipment to Huawei over suspicions it is spying for Beijing. Experts say the US decision, to come into force within three months, threatens the survival of the company, which is highly dependent on US chips for its phones. Several companies have already distanced themselves from Huawei, including Google, whose Android system equips the vast majority of smartphones in the world. Huawei's reported potential involvement in Britain's 5G network has proved politically sensitive and Theresa May's government insists no decision has been made on the issue. Do you believe that most Animals have a very special sensibilities to feel an eminent danger before it struck. It happen few days ago when a Killer Whale killed its trainer in USA after been together with the trainer for so many years. Was telling my wf that it either an earthquake or volcano erupting soon in US. True enough an earthquake struck not in US but in Chile. Some ppl would claimed that it was coincidenced but I am convince that animals have a special sense of danger that we human do not have. Example is the Sichuan earthquake. The pandas were restless and animals were found leaving the forested area before the quake struck. If we are more observant enough, we can also sense it with our closest animal, Dog. It happen to me as our family dog which was very active suddenly turns quite for 2 days, refusing to eat and only hide under the sofa. On the second day, received a call from hospital that my father was in DIL and thereafter, passed away. The dog kept vigil beside the coffin throughout the wake. Every since that incident, I am more aware of unusual animal behaviour........

http://sg.news.yahoo.com/5-signs-might-something-wrong-car-114202229.html You don't always need to visit the workshop to find out if there is something wrong with your car. Just pay attention to the signs. The cars of today aren’t the unreliable, poorly built, rust buckets their ancestors were. In terms of reliability, service life and safety standards, the cars of today are light years ahead of the humdrum econoboxes they were derived from. But because of these reasons, many believe that spotting problems with modern cars is something best left to the professionals. Though this is true when it comes to engine and gearbox performance, other issues don’t require a degree in Mechanical Engineering to figure out something is wrong. Here are five signs that there is something's gone wrong: Sign 1: Difficulty in turning the steering wheel Has it become increasing difficult to turn the steering wheel? There could be a number of reasons why this happens. The first could be due to having under inflated tyres. Pump them to recommended levels and you should notice a difference. If your tyres aren’t the problem than it might be more serious than initially expected. It could be that there isn’t enough power steering fluid (this only applies for hydraulic power steering systems) in the system or that there might be a leak somewhere. If it just requires topping up, take a crack at it but if you aren't confident, take your vehicle to the mechanic. Sign 2: Difficulty in starting the engine If it feels as though your engine is struggling to turn over, you might have a weak battery. Neglecting to get it checked can result in a fully flat battery, meaning your stranded. Tips to jump start a car can be found here. How long it takes the engine to turn over depends on how much of charge is left in the battery. If you hear the usual cranking noise but the engine doesn’t want to fire up, the problem could be due to a failed fuel pump. Sign 3: Blue smoke from the exhaust Occasionally, once you've started up the engine, get someone to sit in the driver’s seat and rev it a few times while you watch the exhaust tip for smoke. If you see faint blue smoke coming out, that’s bad news. This is a clear indication that your engine is burning engine oil. Engine oil is used to lubricate moving parts within the engine such as the pistons. It is never used in the combustion process. Its only when it manages to seep through the sidewalls of the pistons does it come into contact with the air fuel mixture and burns along with it. That’s why you see blue smoke. Mending it is going to be expensive but needs to be done. Sign 4: braking power has decreased There could be a number of reasons but there are two that you most know about. The first, it could be due to worn brake pads. Over time, through continuous use, brake pads loose their thickness. The more worn they become, the further the brake pedal needs to travel towards the floor. The second reason could be due to a leak in the hydraulic brake system. In either case, it’s a serious matter that needs to be tended to immediately. Sign 5: headlights aren’t as bright as they used to be The simplest explanation for this is that your headlights need polishing. If that’s not it, then it’s a more serious problem. It could be that your alternator has failed and your vehicle’s electrical systems are relying on the battery to keep them alive. Because the alternator isn’t working, the battery isn’t being recharged. The more you drive the car, the weaker the battery becomes till eventually everything dies on you. Kept an extra pair of eyes on the road lately? From June onwards, modified road markings at five zebra crossings in Ang Mo Kio, Jurong West, Sin Ming Road and Bukit Meral Central will remind pedestrians to look out for oncoming vehicles before they cross. Other new measures introduced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) include signs reminding right-turning motorists to give way to pedestrians at the junction of Rivervale Lane and Rivervale Drive and the junction of Hougang Avenue 4 and Upper Serangoon Road. Said Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Transport Muhammad Faishal: "It is incumbent on the driver to always look out and be alert to pedestrians and other vulnerable road users...Let us make safety a priority so that we can make it home safely everyday to our loved ones." What if the other driver cant or fails to see it? Wasted 'energy'? Many times when the other driver drives wrecklessly and almost causes an accident with me, i will show him my finger  . But sometimes traffic situation is such that he cant see it Do you try to make sure he sees yours? (if you use bad signs) For example, he cuts in front forcing me to e-brake. After that, he stays in front of me and might not see my finger from his rear view mirror. I wont purposely overtake to show him fingers.... too much effort involved coz i drive leisurely most of the time. Also, if he sees it and wants to sue me for vulgar gestures, will he have a case? is vulgar signs really an offence? How do you 'administer/execute' your finger signs, do you make sure they are seen by the culprit?

Hi all, My rear left tyre looks quite deflated last week, when I went to the kiosk to pump air, the meter indicated that the air inside was 80 kpi. I thought it was punctured but after sending to Autobacs for checking while dipping the tyre in water, they found no air bubbles. What the guy did was to pump it to 250 kpi and told me to monitor the tyre again. After going out and coming back home, it's almost flat again! What could have happened? Is there anywhere that I can get a reliable workshop in Ubi / Kaki Bukit area (I'll be grateful for any contact numbers provided) to help me check what's the prob? I suspect might be the rim or something inside the tyre got prob. I think prior to this, about a week ago, I ever while driving, brushed or mounted that tyre against a kerb and it went 'krong krong krong' quite loudly while trying to siam a lorry at a narrow bend. Thanks for any suggestions rendered!

...when you see these kinds of articles DBS CEO pay for 2010 just over S$8m By Chris Howells | Posted: 31 March 2011 2202 hrs Photos1 of 1 Piyush Gupta SINGAPORE: The CEO of DBS Group Holdings, Piyush Gupta is taking home a pay packet of just over S$8 million for 2010. The company's CEO earned S$1.2 million in salary, S$2.7 million in cash bonuses and S$4.1 million in deferred shares. DBS also made changes for deferred shares, now to be vested over a four year period, up from three years, and no shares will be paid out in the first year. This policy will also apply to other some other members of the board such as Chairman Peter Seah, who is set to take home a S$678,500 pay packet, a third of which was in deferred shares. DBS also introduced a "claw back" for remuneration, which can be triggered if the bank sees losses from negligent risk taking or inappropriate individual behaviour or fraud. Part of Gupta's deferred shares (S$685,000) are also allocated as "kicker" shares, which can only be vested if he is still with the bank in the fourth year. DBS also said it does not pay dividends on deferred shares. In 2010, DBS has recorded core earnings of S$2.65 billion, up 28 per cent from the previous year. The bank said this was driven by strong growth in loans across the region, higher income from cross-selling activities and an improvement in the quality of assets. This was despite headwinds caused by a low interest rate environment, where SIBOR rates had hit a 23-year low. In a letter to shareholders as part of its annual report, Gupta and Seah said: "The bank was able to put surplus deposits to good use and mitigate the effects of net interest margin compression. In all, net interest income declined just 3 per cent to S$4.32 billion. On the other hand, non-interest income rose 28 per cent to S$2.75 billion." Going forward, the bank reiterated its focus on strengthening its regional wealth management, SME, Treasury & Markets and Global Transaction Services Business. This comes after the CEO of OCBC Group, David Conner, racked up S$7.5 million in pay for last year. Half of which was in deferred shares and share awards of S$3.71 million, while S$1.24 million came from base salary and fees, and S$2.5 million in bonuses. -CNA/ac

Its about the Orchard Boulevard again. I just realised why I was caught speeding. Its due to traffic lights. Before the cross junction (the one at wheelock place), there is another junction (exit from MRT) which pedestrians used to cross to get to the bus stop. The lights at wheelock place junction will turn green while the MRT exit one is read. Thus if you do not chiong fast enough (around 70-80), you will not get thru. Today, I saw several cars making thru the junction at high speeds. For me, well, of course i don't dare to try....I don't know if there is someone hiding or not. If have, GG to those cars. The place is like a trap, enticing drivers to chiong thru the green lights catching them for speeding....Just becareful......OF course, what is just a wide road having just 50KM/H limit is something I don't understand as well. then Grange Road is somewhat wierd.......As i turn into Grange Road, I will see a 60 sign after Tanglin Road junction. At the Botanical Gardens junction, I will then see a 70 sign with speed camera warning. Just right after the speed camera, there will be signs telling you to slow down due to bends. After the bends, no speed signs till I exit at Farrer Road. So, I have no idea whats the speed limit after the camera as well. Sorry, I am just getting confused by all these signs....

As the 2nd hand car market sales is picking up, so are the number of cars that has suffered flood damage to be put on sale. To make things worse, even car inspection centers seems to be not very reliable when it comes to accident/flood detection. Lets share some knowledge here on how to identify a car that has suffered flood damage. I believe there are many gurus in MCFs that can shed some light on this. Also, for people who have experience driving a flood damaged car, do share the sort of problems encountered and remedies.

Maybe some of you have experienced it before. Nevertheless I'm sharing this story. I was queueing at a fruit juice stall waiting for my turn. A FT (indian) with his boy just stood in front of the cashier while a couple of us were lining up against the stall waiting. Initially his boy was pointing and saying " I want this, I want that". Okay I thought he's looking at the favour only and will soon join the queue. As a minute went by, I realised he wasn't, he is constantly turning his eyes towards me (I happened to be the next person on queue). I quite sure he's trying to play punk and cut queue, using his boy as an excuse. I turn back and look behind, the 2 others behind me was kinda pissed too judging on their looks. I guess I wasn't alone. So when it comes to my turn, I request for my drink, he also requested his. Of course, I got the priority, the Cheena FT seller don't even bothered to look at his direction. Soon, I turn my head and gesture to him, "The queue is behind me" He started to get defensive, "Yah, I know it, my boy, he's active and always running about, I have to stand here so it's easier to hold him' he uttered in his fake slant. Yah, blar, blar.... I just look away, showing a real disgusted look at him. I was seriously thinking to myself :- the F**k you placed your order together with me then? He still persisted standing there. By then, a long queue had gathered behind me, he finally beat a nasty retreat and proceed to the normal drink stall to get his boy's drink. Of course, not before I swipe a cheeky smile at him when he walked by me. What's wrong with these FTs? I simply don't understand why they insist of bringing their own set of rules in SG. The queue is organised and everybody waits patiently ... I can't help but have a bad impression on them. Am I gonna have such lifestyles of fighting during queueing as well? Somebody, pelase share a positive story of FTs so that I don't feel depressed! If not, share a negative story and all get depressed!!
