Common.... anyone here from Chartered Semi??? We don't know how his EXACT performance is like in Chartered but it is a FACT that during his years as CEO of Chartered semi from 2002 to 2009, Chartered Semi shares plummeted like a rock. In the end, we sold Chartered Semi to Global foundries. Seriously, what did he do that makes Temasek want him as Head Strategy??? Did chartered Semi do extremely well? What did he do that makes Temasek hire him to manage our Portfolio and Strategy? What strategy did he implement in Chartered Semi that ended up with Chartered share price dropping like a rock, making losses for many quarters, and ended up being sold to Global foundries. This is crazy.

I really dunno what to say. Best part is the guy turned himself in. The offences he committed were only parking ones. But when he failed to pay the fines and didn't turn up in court after several summonses were sent to him, a warrant of arrest was issued against him. Lawyer Luke Lee said a court can issue an arrest warrant if the person fails to answer a summons and does not turn up in court. When two Aetos auxiliary police officers went to his flat to arrest him on Thursday, the offender, known only as Nic, fled while being handcuffed. That sparked off a six-hour manhunt around Hougang Street 51. Surrendered More than 30 police officers, several sniffer dogs, five police cars and four red Special Operations Command riot vehicles were activated to search for the man, according to Shin Min Daily News. He surrendered to the police that evening. At 2.20pm on Thursday, two Aetos officers turned up at Nic's four-room flat. As they were handcuffing him, Nic, 28, struggled violently, broke free and ran down the stairs, with the handcuffs dangling from one arm, reported Lianhe Wanbao. The police were called in and they mounted an extensive search of the area lasting almost six hours. Besides Hougang Street 51, the housing estates in Hougang Street 52, Avenue 5 and Avenue 8 were also searched. The hunt covered carparks and a construction site, Shin Min Daily News reported. Pictures of Nic were put up in public places, such as staircase landings and coffee shops. Around 8pm the same day, Nic turned himself in at the Ang Mo Kio North Neighbourhood Police Centre. Yesterday, The New Paper visited the neighbourhood. Madam Jessica Toh, a 45-year-old housewife who lives with her family two doors away from Nic, described his parents as "very friendly". She said they would exchange greetings when they met each other. According to Madam Toh, the couple looked to be in their 50s. They have two other adult children - a son and a daughter. She added: "They look educated. They also dress tidily and are well groomed." Two floors down, a resident, who has been living at the block for more than 20 years, thought that a "murder case" was under investigation. The resident, who declined to be named, said: "There were two or three police cars and a big group of both uniformed and plainclothes police officers. I knew something was not right." He added: "They kept a low profile. I observed them for one to two hours but no body was carried out." When The New Paper visited what is believed to be Nic's flat, the door and windows were shut and remained so despite repeated knocks. There were potted plants and a rack full of shoes outside the flat. There were also poles with clothes hung out to dry. Police said investigations are on. For escaping from legal custody, the suspect faces up to two years in prison, or a fine, or both.

The sight of this police car rammed into a street lamp at Jurong West Avenue 5 must have startled residents as much as it did STOMPers JX and Brandon. Spotted in the evening today (January 6), the police car had crashed into the lamp post outside a row of residential houses, causing the post to be tilted backwards. According to JX, the car was badly damaged in the front. He says: "I happened to drive past Jurong West Avenue 5 and to my surprise, it was not any other car but a police car that crashed into the lamp post along the road! "The front part of the car was badly damaged, not to mention the lamp post. "The accident happened within a stone's throw from the police post. "I wonder what happened to the officer". lack of concentration plus lack of slp resulted in an minor accident last nite at sle slip road into bke! sigh..was meddling with my headunit hence didnt realised the vehicle infront of me came to a complete STOP. well..of all vehicles, langar our fave toyota crown TAXI. lucky the fellow almost no damage. paid him $150 and settled privately with an agreement signed. my baby is injured cosmetically..will post some pics another day. (and of course, my wallet also injured) just a word of caution to all, drive with concentration! like they always said..good drivers just drive. cheers.

Well, Italy is such a beautiful country.... I have a chance again to come to Italy and took some time off to visit the city of Pisa, and to have a look at the magnificent Leaning Tower of Pisa..... it is a wonderful sight, soemthing which I will never forget. I just love old historical buildings and I count myself fortunate to have been and seen so many that many have only seen it in pictures..... The train station .... Pisa Centrale.... Cross the street from central station and you will be on the right track towards the Tower... you will also find that there are many tourist walking in that direction or from that direction.... You will come to the Arno River, which divides Pisa into two... and a beautiful sight...

Police car wheel-clamped, issued with warning letter STOMPer Soulman saw this police car with its wheel clamped, apparently for parking in a season parking lot at the carpark of The Adelphi opposite Funan the IT Mall. He says: "The photos show 2 police cars parked at the parking lot of The Adelphi. "Apparently, 1 police car was parked at the yellow lot while the other was parked at the red lot (meant for season parking). "It seemed that the management was extremely dedicated to their work as the police car parked in the red lot was wheel clamped and served with a warning letter while the other one was not. "While I am not sure whether wheel clamping a police car is the correct thing to do, this proves that even police officers make mistakes every now and then."

At about 6.30am yesterday, police got information that there was a break-in at a house on Arcadia Road off Adam Road. They immediately sent a patrol car to check. A Shin Min Daily News reporter, who got a tip-off from a reader, rushed to the area and saw six police cars. Three policemen, with a police dog each, searched the nearby wooded area. Another police dog awaited orders. It was 10.30am when police sent seven 'red cars' carrying policemen believed to be from Special Operations Command to the area. Some 20 plainclothes and uniformed policemen started surrounding the hilltop, conducting a thorough search operation. Not long later, Gurkha soldiers and more special forces policemen arrived to join in the search, Shin Min Daily News reported. An hour after, police nabbed a man who looked to be in his 20s. He was handcuffed with his hands behind his back. This man wasn't wearing any shoes as he walked out. His head was held low. He wore a dark blue T-shirt and pants. Residents said he looked familiar, and that he could be a foreign worker from a nearby construction site. A police spokesman confirmed that they detained a man suspected of breaking-and-entering, and they are still investigating. At the hilltop of Arcadia Road, there are two condominiums and several colonial-era black-and-white bungalows. It is understood the burglary had happened in one of those bungalows. After taking the man away, police continued to search the wooded area to ensure he had no accomplices. Was driving along Jalan Jurong Kechil toward Bukit Batok earlier at about 9.00pm and saw several SOC "Red" vans, marked police cars, vans and unmarked police vehicles parking along Toh Yi Drive. Seem like some kind of operation at that area. Are they looking for JI Chief, Mas Selamat Kastari at that area ? Any members here saw that incident & care to enlighten what happen at Toh Yi estate ?
