  1. SINGAPORE — A man was detained by police following an alleged blast in front of the Kallang Neighbourhood Police Post late Friday night (13 March), according to eyewitnesses. Jerome Simon, a 38-year-old personal trainer, was trying to get to sleep when he heard what sounded like a blast at around 11.40pm. Looking out from the window of his block at 113B McNair Road, he said he could see flames and heard people screaming in the distance. When Simon went to the scene at Block 105 Towner Road, he saw that something had apparently been “blown up” in front of the Kallang Neighbourhood Police Post, which is located at the foot of the block. A shirtless man with a black hood over his head had been detained by the police near the scene while he was there. “It was completely insane,” Simon said, describing the incident. The word “ISIS” could be seen repeatedly scrawled on the walls of the block. Another eyewitness, Facebook user Tarlo Gill, said he witnessed the incident outside the police post. He said police and Singapore Civil Defence Force personnel “came swiftly to put out the fire/explosives and of course to arrest the man”.
  2. I guess there are probably reasons why there are certain unspoken SAF manpower policies..... http://www.valuewalk.com/2014/06/isis-5-year-territorial-expansion-plan-map/ ISIS, the radical terrorist group that has seized massive portions of Iraq and also Syria, is apparently looking to expand its territory as far as the East coast of North Africa and all the way into South East Asia, with Malaysia and Indonesia in its sights (or perhaps dreams would be a more appropriate term). This is all according to a map that has been circulating Twitter.
  3. LONDON: Shamima Begum, a teenager who left London when she was aged 15 to join Islamic State in Syria, has had her British citizenship revoked, according to a letter sent to her family published by ITV News on Tuesday (Feb 19). Begum, who gave birth to a son at the weekend, was discovered in a refugee camp in Syria by a London Times journalist earlier this month. Now aged 19, she has told reporters she wants to return to Britain. A debate has broken out about whether Ms Begum, who travelled to Syria in 2015 aged 15, should be allowed to return to Britain having joined Isis, which has claimed responsibility for terrorist attacks on the UK. The Manchester Arena attack in May 2017 killed 22 people after a suicide bomber detonated a device packed with shrapnel at the end of a pop concert. In the latest of a series of interviews she has given while in the camp, Ms Begum told the BBC she had regrets about the Manchester attack: “I do feel that is wrong. Innocent people did get killed,” she said. “It’s one thing to kill a soldier – it’s fine, it’s self-defence. But to kill people like women and children – just like the women and children in Baghuz who are being killed right now unjustly by the bombings – it’s a two-way thing, really.” She continued: “This is kind of retaliation. Their justification was that it was retaliation so I thought that is a fair justification.” “That was unfair on them … They weren’t fighting anyone. They weren’t causing any harm. But neither was I and neither [were the] other women who are being killed right now back in Baghuz.” if you have been following the news, you'd be aware of all interviews the girl had done showing no remorse or whatsoever. She has even gone on to say that if her first baby had survived, she would have wanted him to become a ISIS fighter too. now the QN is, if one day a fellow brother or sister from Sg joins a terrorist group too but years later, regrets doing so and wish to return to sg, what would we do? what would our government do? do we let him/her return? should we risk it all? we dont know how damaged their minds would be then. should we let them return, jail them for an un-determined no of yearS? How many years is enough? how do we determine they are safe to be integrated bk to our society again after that? lets leave all sensitive matters pertaining religion out of this discussion. this is a fight against terrorist and not against our muslim brothers and sisters. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/world/teenager-who-joined-islamic-state-group-in-syria-to-lose-uk-11260642?cid=FBcna&fbclid=IwAR1qrf4Uhy4FG7Lt1Q1caTnbVaH8ceVDViV6TOiArCGYYQfGsMC4ODJVQWA

  7. SINGAPORE - 27 male Bangladeshi nationals who were radicalised and supported extremist beliefs have been arrested under the Internal Security Act. In a statement on Wednesday (Jan 20), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) revealed that the group, who had been working in the local construction industry, were arrested by the Internal Security Department (ISD) between Nov 16 and Dec 1 last year. MHA said that of the 27 arrested, 26 were members of a closed religious study group that supported the armed jihad ideology of terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The other Bangladeshi national was not a member of the group, but was found to be in the process of becoming radicalised and possessed jihadi-related material. "A significant amount of radical and jihadi-related material like books and videos, including footages of children undergoing training in what appeared to be terrorist military camps, were recovered from the possession of the group," MHA said, adding that several members had a shared document that had graphics and instructions on how to conduct "silent killings" Group members had taken measures to avoid detection by authorities, but held weekly gatherings where they discussed armed jihad and shared jihadi-related materials among themselves. "They also targeted the recruitment of other Bangladeshi nationals to grow their membership," the ministry said. Investigations revealed that several of the group had contemplated travelling to and participating in armed jihad in the Middle East. However, although members were encouraged to return to Bangladesh to wage armed jihad against the country's government, it is learnt that they had no plans to carry out terrorist attacks in Singapore. MHA said that the work passes of the 27 had been terminated, and 26 have been repatriated to Bangladesh, where authorities have been informed of the circumstances of their repatriation. The last of the group is currently serving a jail sentence for attempting to leave Singapore illegally, and will be repatriated after he completes his sentence. The arrests come during a period of heightened concerns over terrorism in the region, after two civilians were killed in a bomb attack carried out by ISIS militants in Jakarta last Thursday (Jan 14). Subsequently, Malaysian police also arrested an alleged lone-wolf suicide bomber who planned to carry out an attack in Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, Communications and Information Minister Yaacob Ibrahim said in a Facebook post that he was "deeply concerned" over the arrests. "Terrorism is a continuing threat that can have a grave impact on all of us. I appeal that we be more vigilant, whether against radical teachings and ideologies, or of any suspicious activities around us," he wrote. But Mr Yaacob, who is also Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, also called upon Singaporeans not to discriminate against foreign workers, saying that "the actions of a few cannot determine how we treat others who have worked so hard to build our homes, schools and hospitals." 9. Sexual jihad is a controversial practice of women within some Wahhabist groups allegedly offering themselves in sexual comfort roles to fighters for the establishment of Islamic state. Definition in wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_jihad Disturbing, but we should all be aware of the power of these radical groups. Somehow, the ISIS is able to brainwash these girls to become sexual objects for the ISIS fighters. Interesting talk show on the topic of sexual jihad. http://www.straitstimes.com/news/asia/south-east-asia/story/isis-luring-young-girls-around-the-world-join-its-terror-ranks-20150 PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Malaysian police are on the alert for a new tactic by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria to lure young girls from around the world to join its ranks. Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division's principal assistant director Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the militant group was trying to lure girls as young as 14 and 15 to the ranks for sex jihad, among other activities. "We will not allow them to be exploited by IS or any other terror groups. "We are pooling our resources to ensure that these children do not fall into the trap," he told The Star on Sunday. Stressing that the division was monitoring the situation closely, SAC Ayob Khan advised parents to be more wary of their children's activities. "These young girls can easily be influenced by the militants via social media, especially Facebook. "So, parents, please play your part by monitoring your children's activities," he said. SAC Ayob Khan said that although the division had managed to thwart seven Malaysian women from going to Syria to join the militants since last year, seven others had managed to go there, adding that most of the women were in their 20s. "The youngest so far is the 14-year-old who was arrested last week," he said. The girl was nabbed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport while attempting to head to Cairo, purportedly to marry a student there before going to Syria. SAC Ayob Khan said the latest arrest reflected the IS' worrying trend to brainwash and enlist youngsters from around the world into joining its terror ranks. Britain's Scotland Yard is now looking for three teenage girls who are believed to be travelling to Syria via Turkey to join the ISIS. They are Shamima Begum, 15, who could be using the name of Acklina Begum, and 16-year-old Kadiza Sultana. The third girl, 15, has not been named at the request of her family. Their friend, also a 15-year-old, is said to have joined the militants in December. In November, a 19-year-old Dutch girl was brought home by her mother after marrying an ISIS fighter in Syria. Earlier on Sunday, Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri said there were some people in the country who were influenced by the activities of militant groups. "Their ability to recruit young people for their false struggle is worrying. To date, there have been several of our young people who not only joined them in IS territories as supporters but also became directly involved in military activities such as suicide bombing. "Going by the experience of neighbouring countries, we should also give IS serious attention," he said. He gave the assurance that police and military intelligence units were monitoring militant groups and would not let them grow to the point where they could threaten the security of the nation. He said parents should always monitor their children's activities to prevent them from getting involved in terror groups like the ISIS. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/asia/south-east-asia/story/isis-luring-young-girls-around-the-world-join-its-terror-ranks-20150#sthash.IEyoIzZx.dpuf -------------------------

  11. The important of a business name..............koh lian sia............ A Belgian chocolate company is the latest casualty of an unfortunate name-association which saw it linked to a notorious terror group. By Brianna Roberts 7 NOV 2014 - 10:01 AM UPDATED YESTERDAY 3:42 PM 0 The makers of ISIS chocolates will change their name to ‘Libeert’ to avoid association with the terror group formerly known as ISIS. The director of the company, which has been around since 1923, Ignace Libeert, said they experienced a slump in sales as media coverage of the terror group's activity intensified. “When we saw that the orders, which were planned to get in at the beginning September for this Christmas, they didn't come in from the States or the UK, and we said: 'What's going on here?' “And they said yes, we have orders but the name ISIS is actually disturbing because our consumers are very upset with that name.” The chocolate company is the latest in a long list of companies to suffer from the unwanted association. The family of an 8-year-old Sydney girl called Isis came forward last month, complaining they had been discriminated against because of the association. And more than 38,000 Isis’s from across the world have signed an online petition to the media to stop using their name to describe the terror group. A British adult retailer apologised in August after launching a range of lingerie named Isis, but said it did not support jihadists in Iraq and Syria and was standing by its name. The word originally comes from an Egyptian goddess who was worshipped as an ideal mother and wife, and until recently has had mostly positive connotations. Chocolate bars bearing the name ISIS have already hit the shops for Christmas, so the company is now preparing for the Easter holidays. It will take until January 2015 for the full transition to the company's new name to be completed. http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2014/11/07/isis-chocolates-change-name-after-sales-slump
  12. Just like to share a good experience on change of brake pad, my car is a 2009 Isis, one of the headaches i face is that it's supposed to be a WISH but it's not really a WISH since some parts are different and since its not too common, i do worry about getting the right parts. Anyways been going regularly to the same workshop in the north for some time, last 2 visits at 40K & 50K been getting asked to change pads and skim rotors. I kind of dragged my feet on this and actually dreading it..with the cost of it and how change of ATF, spark plugs etc coincided.. At 70K, i went to another workshop nearer my house (Pasir Ris) same story change pad and skim Price quoted very similar = $230- $250 for brake pad Skimming =$70-$120 I decided to do more research on the internet....more confused and worried...ISIS vs WISH which brake pad...and in terms of rotors more. Discovered some good toyota stockist. Eventually went with Ric -Tat at Owen road...very nice experience there. Confident with price of purchase and also correctness of part!!... Brake pad= $65 Rotors =$210 for a pair Surfed around internet and read about Seng Long at Bukit Merah Lane 3...called and spoke to the boss Alan. Agreed on a price..went down. Was well pleased when i got there no big crowd on a saturday afternoon...his mechanic Ah Wing worked on my car. He worked with focus on my car. I asked them to inform him if i needed to replace rotors, he touched them look carefully and said my rotors were in good shape!! he even told me my rotors were not possible to do a skim...too thin my model. Was impressed by the honesty Brakes pads were fitted, all the old dust from the old pads cleaned up. Later he checked once both sides changed My brake pads according to the mechanic could go a little more, he showed me the part(like a clip spring) that would cause noise once worn down!! anyways, he said it was a good time to change but my rotors could wait longer. I was just happy to get the job done by honest no nonsense honest workshop and look forward to doing more jobs with them! guess..with all the push to skim rotors and change pads at 40K made me bit disappointed with the regular place...i doubt they even open up my tyre to check...after fitting the new pads Ah wing cleaned a lot of old dust from my brakes!! Anyways just to share my saving experience...i have set of spare rotors may try to exchange for something else at Ric-tat or just keep since with the current COE...my car will surely get thru the current rotors

The write-up and specs on http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/10004.php seems rather tempting leh .. Thanks!
  17. Hi, Anyone here has experience on these 2 cars? Am considering both model .. like the sliding doors, auto tailgate and the dash of ISIS but the exterior of Wish is newer and has projector headlights. Engine wise, they are identical.
