  1. Hi guys! I have gathered some highlight of this year Tokyo Auto Show from various source. Enjoy! This is the Subaru Levorg Concept. No interior shot thou. You guys can watch the full video here. Honda Fit. The front sure looks a bit bland. But if you are a minimalist and like to shop at muji, I think you will appreciate this look. Here's the interior shot. I kinda like the 2 spoke steering wheel. Still, have the same practicality to it. And just look at the real estate of the screen! The gearstick has been revised too. No more handbrake lever. We still have the ultra seat that can fold upward and fully flat depends on what configarations you want it to be. The back now spotted a new taillight. Look really nice! Quite a decent boot space! And the commentator stated that there is no spare tyre. So means more storage and weight saving! By the look of the steering wheel control, I think this car will be equipped with honda sensing. The only thing that is lacking is a pedal shifter here. Does anyone know the engine is a 1 L, 3 cyl or a 1.5L 4 cyl engine? It is a hybrid version for this. I am waiting for the mugen and spoon to sport-tified this Fit.
  2. The 2011 Tokyo Motor Show has just begun and many automakers are showcasing their new models or concepts. And it is no surprise that Volkswagen has unveiled its crossover SUV concept there since it is one of the biggest auto events. The concept shows hints of what a compact hybrid crossover would look like when style, performance and efficiency are combined. Volkswagen named it the Cross Coupe Concept. A spokesperson for the company said that it is how a crossover between a four-door coupe and an SUV would look like. This concept could also be the basis for Audi's crossover SUV. The concept was designed by Walter de Silva and Klaus Bischoff and it is rather stunning. Measuring 4.34 metres long, the car is shorter than the current Volkswagen Tiguan but longer than the current VW Golf. The long front bonnet and the sloping rear lines give the car an aggressive stance. The front headlights are uniquely connected to the centre grille. The chrome strips are more than just for aesthetics purposes. The bottom strips houses the daytime running lights and the top ones are for turn signals. Interior wise, the car features four bucket seats with integrated headrests. Both front and back seats can be folded down to increase cabin space. The cargo trunk space has around 13.4 cubic feet of space and increases to 43.4 cubic feet when the seats are folded. A programmable instrument cluster, which is connected to the driving mode selector, displays various information relating to the driving mode, either sport, off-road and city. The Cross Coupe is powered by three different sources. The front wheels are powered by a 148bhp turbocharged engine which is connected to an electric motor with 54bhp. The rear wheels are powered by another electric motor which will is activated when driving in all-electric mode or during all-wheel drive driving. The rear electric motor is rated at 114bhp and a total of 262bhp if you combine all three. The batteries for the two electric motors are located where the driveshaft would normally sit. According to Volkswagen, this provides a better low centre of gravity and better balance which in turn will give the car the handling of a coupe with SUV functionality. 3. In the past few months we have been teased and enticed with fleeting images, preparation videos and the eventual unveiling of the Nissan Juke-R. And Nissan is most probably not going to build the Juke-R in masses. That piece of news might have disappointed some people. But if you really like the Juke-R, there is another alternative. Initially built only as a concept, the Nissan Juke Nismo garnered a lot of positive attention during the recent 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and this has encouraged Nissan to build it for real. The car will be based on the concept which was showcased recently at the Tokyo Motor Show. Nissan
  4. A motoring event is never complete without them. Call them booth ladies or race queens, they may even garner more attention than the shiny new automobiles on display. Without further ado, presenting the ladies from the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show:

Automotive exhibitions and shows are usually the place where auto firms showcase their new models, concepts and even technologies. It is a great platform for them to introduce such items where journalists from all over the world gather to report on their new creations. The 2011 Tokyo Motor Show is one such event. Currently taking place (01/12/2011), many new cars and technologies were displayed. For example, Toyota is heavily promoting its new sports coupe model, the 86. Honda might not have any new sports model or sports concept to show to the world but one of the biggest news from them is that they have a new family of engines that goes by the name of Earth Dreams Technology or EDT for short. The name might sound a bit plain to some but for those who are familiar to the phrase
  6. In this country where the well-disciplined and well-mannered people have braved and survived the recent earthquakes, expect big and colourful signboards at the top of buildings and shopping malls, sidewalk ramen stalls bursting with people in their working suits, electric scooters, rows of bicycles lined up on sidewalks everywhere and cool kids with their funky dressing that may be deemed as an ah beng back in Singapore. It is very different from the old-world aura of impatient, inconsiderate and intolerable behaviour that has cast a dark and rusty shadow on our country. For the first two days in Tokyo, we stayed in Shinjuku, a happening suburb 30 minutes away from Tokyo Big Sight where the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show (TMS) 2011 was held. Every single one of them was cocooned in their

  8. [extract] Daihatsu isn't a very popular choice for car buyers around here mainly due to the high COE figures and its focus at the small car segment of the market. The high COE in the 1600cc category means that buyers want better value for their money and that Daihatsu has to fight off a lot of other competitors and something I still do not agree with
