Little_prince Supersonic March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 prease hor, got proof we is got "highest talent"? according to their argument: the highest money is to prevent them from becoming corrupt, and they admit that after they get out of office they can't earn very much (compared to US prez for eg.). nonsense lah. our elite ministers after they leave office, now all raking in the big bucks in all the GLCs or boards of directors etc. lol ↡ Advertisement
Wyfitms Twincharged March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 2 months agp, in ICT i heard my frens talking about this.. but i dont get why they can do this.. for repairs ??.. if im not in. can they break into my flat?.. what happens if anything lost or broken.. Allowing HDB officers by law to have power to enter without warrant is quite serious... flat owners will be losing some of their rights it is like allowing statutory board officers to have the power to detain or arrest someone without warrant.. (i think NEA officers can do that if i am not wrong..) conferring such powers to officers have to be considered very carefully what if u piak piak halfway then they chiong insai? then too bad lor at most they apologize u cannot do anything cos they are permitted by law to do it

oleandero 5th Gear March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 just a thought.... what if scammers impersonate HDB officers and force blur and scared ah gong ah ma to open door for them cos they have the 'right' to enter the flat?
Latio2005A Turbocharged March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 I think this arises due to ppl disturbing neighbours and yet not opening door to ppl from TC and HDB when they come to investigate ... If we don't do anything bad or illegal, there's nothing for us to scare :)) Fully agree, esp last sentence just a thought.... what if scammers impersonate HDB officers and force blur and scared ah gong ah ma to open door for them cos they have the 'right' to enter the flat? Good point. Very real.

Hydrocarbon Turbocharged March 14, 2015 Share March 14, 2015 thats how they catch oral sex without the full course [laugh] But they cannot prove you not going to do the full course yet... So, still not illegal right? Haha... The one with powers to enter, I think is a very serious thing. Hopefully, more clarification will be given (or have already been given and I missed it.) Othello Supersonic March 14, 2015 Share March 14, 2015 (edited) The one with powers to enter, I think is a very serious thing. Hopefully, more clarification will be given (or have already been given and I missed it.) Read the article bro, only for certain "urgent" circumstances lah ........ For a warrantless entry, HDB will only exercise this right if there is an imminent danger to public safety or public health in the area, such as flat owners demolishing the structural beams. Like what a bro pointed out, done nothing wrong, why scared HDB break down your door ? Edited March 14, 2015 by Othello

Like what a bro pointed out, done nothing wrong, why scared HDB break down your door ? I know, I've read that too. But I want to know what's the limit of imminent danger. Because, once a law is there, there is the chance that they can enter as they wish, and say that they had tip off that there's imminent danger, etc. So, what is the limit? Police cannot enter without warrant, HDB can. So if HDB enter without warrant, and they "need" mata help to do something, can mata enter?

I am sure when HDB want to enter a unit, they will engage police too.. They are civil servants, and they want to be seen above the law too... if they don't have any valid reason, nor engaging police, they will ganna complains if they anyhow rush into a unit .... Let's not speculate too much... for I think they will publish in papers once there is a case that warrant their entry into a unit...
