No more QQ in 2018?

I wish that they will release a complete table that covers all the cars in SG..

That was old info where QQ was not Euro VI.

The new QQ is now Euro VI. Maybe neutral.

That's why we need the info..

Then we can make the right buying decisions.

I am keen to know the new figures.

The QQ is a Brit car, so they have reacted quickly with a Euro 6 engine..

I do not know why LTA waste time to measure those pollutants themselves.

Is it because they have too many manpower? or too free?

Just follow Euro6 standard should be sufficient already.

Singapore car market consider small. Not worth to spend more time to measure those pollutants.

Left few months to 2018, AD or PI still do not know which car model will incurred high VES.

If the car that they imported has high VES, will customer still buy?

If car cannot sell, will PI bankrupt?

Who care about the environment?

They only care about the taxes... :yuush:

when i am in lexus showroom i was shocked to hear that the hybrid prius which used to have 30k rebate under current CEVS will have zero rebate under the new scheme 2018. does that mean all car price will up since the barrier will be push up. those that is currently zero will be kana a few start 2018? to me seems like just finding excuse to get more money..

You must have missed the last thousand or so posts in MCF ;)

But yes, the VES makes quite a few so called green cars much more expensive for now.

But who knows? If the net cost of the car is so high, COE may drop since the pain level is too high for some to bear.

However, some cars with a much higher VES tax, like the Qashqai have managed to swop out their Euro 4 for a Euro 6 engine.

Does that mean it can retain it's current tax band ? Does it mean Nissan throttled the power output to keep to this emission level? Or did they cheat... only time will tell.

Cheers

Guys,

I was looking at the VES band for CO Carbon Monoxide.

The band range is from <0.150 g/km to > 0.350 g/km

I was shocked when I was looking at a Japanese car that has 1.15g/km written in their spec.

When I look at other cars, I realised a pattern

Toyota Pruis CO = 1.15g/km

PJptqxL.jpg

Honda Vezel Hybrid CO = 1.15g/km

6SUPnQ4.jpg

Honda Fit CO = 1.15g/km

OgICL53.jpg

Suzuki Vitara CO = 1.15g/km

NnKNLoI.jpg

Does that mean ALL the cars I mentioned above will have 20k surcharge? cannot be right?

How they calculate the CO?

accordingly to info from LTA, it would be based on the worse performing emission criteria, not just from CO2. For example, Pruis may be in band A2 for a -$10,000 based on CO2 alone, but probably one other emission make it drop into band B to be neutral.

No one know the full listing when VES kicks in cos cars are still being tested and even AD are confused themselves. no choice, suck thumb lor

Actually I also noticed this too and have the same concern and quiet as you.

Let's just wait for LTA.

Could be a unit of measurement typo/error, It's quite common :)

If CO is 1.15g/km tested under the Euro6 test procedures it would have failed.

From Wikipedia,

post-180064-0-09353600-1505361355.jpg

Very likely, the 1.15 is from Japan's test procedures using different driving cycle.

Euro 4 used NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) and Euro 6 should be NEDC.

There was this 0.85 coefficient applied to CO2 emissions for new cars tested locally, for determination of CEVs. Would that 0.85 be applied to the rest of the other pollutants too?
