Volvobrick Hypersonic April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 While waiting to cross a traffic junction (walking) I saw 5 electric bikes zooming on the road, at about 40km/h or so, all no helmet, not pedalling (ie illegal liao), some with female pillion rider. Patience is always necessary when you choose to drive in SG. All it takes is at most 30 seconds of your time & you will not meet the errant cyclist again. Sometimes, one have to endure 30 years of marriage yet LLST 👍 I have this inconsiderate neighbor who always park on the service road while waiting for his family every weekday peak hour morning. Neighbors' cars have to manoeuver around his parked car to get in out of the carpark. Still no one honk. Everybody is patient or simply LL. They probably think it's just another 20 seconds added to their journey afterwhich they can continue without getting angry & spoiling their day......and this happens every day. IMO, I feel it is partly because of the high cost in owning a car, not help by the hectic lifestyle that contribute to the impatient behavior of the drivers or people in SG. Dude - the way that cyclists are treated here is far worse than anything I am used to in New Zealand - If you think "king of the road" here - then I dunno what you would say about NZ - let alone somewhere truly cyclist friendly (like Scandanavian Countries for instance) NOTE: this is NOT about the right or wrong of the matter - simply saying that bikes here have it worse than a lot of other places I have seen - in no way is this a "heaven" for AMTK (or at least - not in my experience - I get bullied on a bike here far more than anything else I have experienced) 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Clearly, these are illegal e-bike w/o VRN which pose a higher risk to all road users. Unfortunely, no one advocating the enforcement of VRN on e-bike. What I have seen American, British and Kiwi cycling - they are tended to be more respected on the road than what they are here - so coming here to be "Kings of the Road" doesn't make sense...
