AnimalLover 1st Gear March 10, 2016 Share March 10, 2016 (edited) Its the RTA that says it is legal. Not me. Why they build cycling paths? For recreation? For people to use if they want? To make Singapore more cycling friendly? Just because they built a shared path doesn't mean it is illegal to cycle on the road. That driver lost his license because he is reckless. Which normal driver will overtake a slow moving vehicle and then ebrake for no reason? You still don't get it? This driver is not reckless but purposely did it. See the video again. Still dont get it? I surrender to your stubborness of being another cyclist who is inconsiderate to other road users. Who say no driver will ebrake after overtaking a slow moving vehicle? You havent seen does not mean no. Edited March 10, 2016 by AnimalLover
AnimalLover 1st Gear March 10, 2016 Share March 10, 2016 (edited) I think cyclists these days really big fark lor ... Can use bus lane delaying buses with passerengers also can ... Think can write in to LTA and TP and MOT and see what kind of replies they will give . LTA or whatever department cannot settle these problems since ancient time. In the old days before road are built, the cyclist are existed and they can cycle anyway and anywhere they like, same as you are walking or running except with a equipment like bicycle. Then cars are invented and later road are invented for the cars. As bicycles can go anywhere, cyclist will also use the roads too which is more comfortable ride then on stone paths. At that time, the roads has not much cars so you can see trishaws, people, cyclists, trolleys and whatever are on the single lane roads. But as the road has more cars, lots of cyclist still do not care of the safety and choose the comfort ride on roads. Then more lanes are built for more cars and let cars to overtake the heavy lorries on the left lane. No politicians want to be the bad people to say no more cyclist on road because these problems had existed and became a nature since many decades ago before their ancestors. A lot of people still jaywalking in front of the police regional station, police post and everywhere but the police just ignore. Why? I was a teenage cyclist in the past too but I do not agree cyclist to cycle inparallel to take the whole lane to themselves. this is called selfish. I however agree cyclist can cycle in series single line to the utmost left so that do not obstruct so much on other road users. Moreover sometimes I see cyclist on expressway! The rules are that the cart must always be ridden directly in front of a bicycle and the bike is not allowed to overtake. I always put the cart before the horse's ass. Mercury1 Turbocharged March 10, 2016 Share March 10, 2016 I ran into a member of the Spandex group this morning, what kind of pissed me off was that he was cycling on a turn left lane but didn't make any indications if he was going straight or turning right. Had it been a motorcycle I would take it they would go right, but of course bicycles being king of the road I thought not to cut in front in case he wasn't going right. Anyway I honked him cause he kinda pissed me off by making me 2nd guess his intentions. Video no sound cause I cursed too I thought I overreacted a little so thought I post it up and see what you guys think? (Also I have no idea why is he on the right side of the road if not turning right??) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aauXxjnVy_Q&feature=youtu.be

Mercury1 Turbocharged March 10, 2016 Share March 10, 2016 Yeah I meant turn right, I wasn't even sure why he was on that lane unless he turned out from Penang Road U turn (which he did not), looking at the video again it seems he was cycling on the right lane along orchard road all along. You mean right turn lane right? He shouldn't be there if he is not turning right. If he is turning right, he should be on the lane you are in cuz that way he will be on the left after turning. I guess you are the kind who e-brake infront of people who provoke you also since you think it is not wrong if done on purpose. I have a different view. I think cyclists should not be at the right lane at all times. I cannot imagine how a cyclist can switch 4 to 5 lanes to turn right. It's a hazard. RTA says cyclists have to keep leftmost. There is no unless, no but, RTA(B) says so. I can respect cyclists riding 2 abreast as that is the rule, but I also expect cyclist to follow the ride left rule. Don't use the rules to own advantage. If cyclist want to turn right at junction, alight at left lane and walk across pedestrain crossing, then ride again on the left lane. This is the only legal way and safe way. I met a cyclist and ask him for his particulars so that I can report him using my video. He did not give me. I asked if he thinks he is right, why not just give me his particulars. Then he fark me and ride away. Yeah I meant turn right, I wasn't even sure why he was on that lane unless he turned out from Penang Road U turn (which he did not), looking at the video again it seems he was cycling on the right lane along orchard road all along. No bro, I don't agree cyclist can cycle across 4 to 5 lanes to make a right turn at traffic junction. This is the most hazardous way to cycle. Report him to LTA la. They should be able to track him from his license plate Bloody bugger didn't even look on his left to see if there were any cars. Hope he gets rolled over soon. Middle finger got. License plate no. Edited March 10, 2016 by Weez911
Mercury1 Turbocharged March 10, 2016 Share March 10, 2016 Haha speaking of that as I came out of the carpark I saw this thread and saw your post then thought to post the video online. If he take out his manhood I will run him over and it will courts will rule in my favor *Disclaimer: Kidding of course, courts will find me guilty of running over amdk plus I am of sane mind and will not damage my car over public indecency. Maybe the way to regulate bicycles that like to cycle on the main road /CBD area is to make it compulsory for them to install signal lights, clylist in CBD that don't have this will get their bicycles crushed. This way its safer for them and us to know wtf is going on in their helmet. I just made a point about cyclist on the right hand lane this morning :)I sarpork you bro, to the hilt. I am not a lawyer, so I don't really know if what I interpret is correct or not. But RTA did state that all slow vehicles have to keep to the left. They just repeat the same thing in the section for bicycles. So I don't think it is illegal to use the right lane if a cyclist wants to turn right. Whether it is inconsiderate or not is another matter. Some might consider it inconsiderate and some won't. Vehicle to keep close to left-hand edge of roadway 5.—(1) Every vehicle which is moving at a slow rate of speed shall be driven as close to the left-hand side of the roadway as possible. (2) Every vehicle shall at all times be driven in such manner as not to obstruct vehicles moving at a faster speed. Maybe the way to regulate bicycles that like to cycle on the main road /CBD area is to make it compulsory for them to install signal lights, clylist in CBD that don't have this will get their bicycles crushed. This way its safer for them and us to know wtf is going on in their helmet. http://lumoshelmet.co/ Introduce this helmet to every cyclist you know. Lol. It has signal lights and brake lights. But got to wait till Sept to get it.

I gave up on your attitude of cycling that is endangering others. You can continue to cycle occupying the whole lane however you like. You can continue endangering many people's life inclusive ambulances rushing to hospital. Not my business. Surrenders.
