Lane 3 (if I count correctly) is the left most lane for those heading towards city. Last 2 riders are already on it keeping to the left of lane 3. Next 2 riders are are doing the same albeit at a slower pace. 

 

1st rider was on the extreme left lane and I see nothing wrong as he could be taking the left most lane towards the roundabout heading to Jurong town hall or for other reasons. 

 

In fact, I would question if the driver is driving between 2 lanes as from the angle of the video it is hard to tell as the lane markers on 4 and 5 seems to be going under the middle of the vehicle. It could be the driver being kind and polite to give more space to the left most cyclist. If it is, then I would thank him for it.

nothing wrong with what the cyclists are doing, except the second rider in red/orange who changed lane at an slightly inappropriate moment, but at least he is checking his blind spot constantly and aware of surroundings and the car is approaching very quickly at lane 5, so therefore he can move to lane 4

I am just sharing my personal opinion on this matter. Many of us not directly affect by foreign workers issues will never appreciate it thus may feel that why can't we be more tolerance towards our poor fellow human trying to earn a living.

 

When the issue directly affect your daily life, you may then have a different opinion. So we need to be more appreciative of everyone concerns. Surely authorities can do more in patrolling and control. If the same situation is happening next to PM house, I am sure more can be done.

 

Our narrow pavement is already used for placing waste bins, sign poles, etc. Now we start opening for cyclist. Padestrain better walk on the road. Simply we are very tight squeeze of space. We just need to educate how to share the road not move the danger to another place.

 

Why don't they just use electric wheelchair

 

With the prevalence of mobile cameras and smartphones, they better be tamed, cos once they collide with the pedestrian, it will be jail term for them

 

Attention seekers ringing their irritating bell on the pavements expecting pedestrians to give way to them when they don't even have the right of way

Question: What is the difference between the action of the AMDK vs the group of cyclist trying to to make a right turn ?

 

IIRC correctly that part of the mega junction, the round about-like layout, if you do not take the right 3 most lanes to go towards the city, you can still take a slightly longer route around the circular junction to join the same route later on.

This morning at about 6:50 am, I was driving in MCE towards the city and saw a Angmo cycling in the same direction inside the MCE.  He must be an idiot to cycle inside the MCE! 

 

There again, only some angmo were uniquely do that........

To the Anonymous person who disliked my post, your reason was " Not supposed to keep right, even if turning right. Right your RTA" 

 

But perhaps you would like to understand that:

 

1: They are keeping to the extreme left of the third lane, not the right of the first lane, when turning right. 

2: Cyclists are also users of the road, they can turn right at the using the third lane, and need not use the longer route via the fourth or fifth lane to get to west coast road.

Since you asked for opinion, my guess is that you drove dangerously close to the cyclist

 

Looking at your pictures, i really dont see anything reckless with his riding, but i could be wrong if he was serving left and right. 

 

Whilst it is safer for the cyclist to ride close to the yellow lines, but there could be times when there are debris, stones, water/oil puddles, long stretches of sand, or stretches of uneven/bumpy road surface, which would render the cyclist unstable or even cause the cyclist to fall by riding over them, therefore the cyclists would have to take evasive action by riding near the middle of the lane. 

 

As motorists, if we fail to anticipate such actions from them and give them the space they need, then arent we being a hazard to other road users as well?
