Lorry altercation with cyclist at Pasir Ris

Unfortunately, the lorry driver is the one to be punished in the eyes of the law.

Driving heavy vehicle is not easy.

Bus, coach, lorries, they have to keep to the left lane.

They are sometimes blocked by slower cyclists or cars that stopped there.

If they move out to the next lane, they get complained by other drivers, get booked by TP, LTA.

Spare a thought for them.

Some of these lorries also not easy to drive. I drove one shortly after i got my licence driving a manual honda city.

The gear shifts are clunky, to say the least, for these hard used vehicles. The one i was driving had clutch pedal problems also, cannot completely depress to the floor or else the clutch pedal will get stuck LOL

The cyclists need to pay road tax and COE, if they want to ride like this.

Road tax and COE maybe dont need.

Maybe they need to take BTT, TP test and have a 2B license before they can ride on the road.

This is for their safety to make sure they know the traffic rules.

Implement DIPS system and maybe at least 3rd party insurance coverage.

I like to say i am a road cyclist as well and i am all up for it.

AMDK mentality

New FT?

For a troublemaker like this, he can jolly well go back to he come from. We don’t need such people here.

Why not?

Use the money to fund the under utilised Cycling lanes.

I been dreaming to bang into these spandex gay like roadies that ride side by side on the road, but I have no balls to do it but just kpkb to myself inside the car.

So I salute the lorry driver.

Hope the law will not be too harsh on him

Doc..

City is a sedan very much different from van and pick up. I have driven my company double cab tothe sites. Due to vehicle weight/size is so much difficult to break (distance) and moving off. Turning corner.

Long trail runs you are in control of your body; even in orgaised triathlons, here again the biking is controlled by the Organisers so its kind of smooth to chiong all the way as no stop/go situation, most to most slow down near the corners; Trail runs in MacRitchie or even Bt. Timah no 2 steps are ever the same so gotta be really vigilant

Just sharing my 2cents....but I really do agree that bikers have NO right to ride abreast of each others, unless in just overtaking situations

Anyone who let's the adrenaline rush take over their logical mind should be banned from operating bikes and machinery.

I also get adrenaline rush (endorphins) doing long trail runs but it never crossed my mind about running over a python when I run into its path (quite common), just wait a few seconds then continue. Know your own limits and respect the kings of the jungle (lorry in this case). As some bros mentioned, it's not easy to brake heavy vehicles. Certainly I also don't expect a snake to brake for me or I will be plain stupid.

Van is quite OK. But these small lorry (I dunno if you call it double cab) which was the one I drove, the blind spot is actually quite big. In tight traffic, really not easy to spot someone in your blind spot.

I drove it from nus to cck.

Which double cab?

I had drove Triton on highway and off-road. Need to brake earlier than cars.

Take off faster than Corolla.

Before year 2018 comes to an end, Eric has made himself and Solent University famous.

Congratulations!

in the last few days of 2018, Eric appears of nowhere and beats all odds to clinch Singapore's most hated person of the year award  :D
