  1. We wonder if these group of cyclists are aware that the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing when they ride in such a large group.. Posted by the people from SG Road Vigilante on 7th of Aug 2020 is a video of a large group of cyclist riding together seriously before a crash causes a chain collision of bicycles. Some of us might find the accident funny while some would be shocked at how dangerous riding on the road could be. We just hope that everyone recovers well from their fall. Of course, such a post will put netizens into a commenting frenzy where everyone will be slamming the cyclists for road-hogging and riding in a group of more than five. Do you feel that these large gatherings should be stopped? Or do you feel that more and more cyclists are taking advantage of our roads? Let us know...

    JB bikers

The JB bikers are the most irritating and dangerous moving thing on the roads (Taxis are just marginally better ). If you have ever been to the more industrial area of the island eg, Tuas, Jurong, Woodlands where there is a large congregation of JB semi-skilled workers, you will notice this phenomenon with the JB bikers: 1) They have no lane discipline and ride all over the road 2) Those that like to travel in the center of the lane (which is a good thing) will usually hog the lane (even 1st lane!). But don't expect them to keep to the center of the lane all the time because once they hit slower traffic, they will start weaving in and out of the lanes. 3) Those that like to travel in between lanes are no angels as well. It's either their skill or the lack of discipline, they tend to drift left and right slightly making it a big risk to take if you want to overtake them in case you overtake them while they are drifting. 4) When you are the 1st car at the traffic light, all of them will some how squeeze all the way to the front of your car..if all the space taken up, the rest of the JB bikers will squeeze into the space between you and the cars beside you. They will pack so tightly, other than starting to worry about them accidentally scratching your car, your front parking sensor will beep incessantly because they are so freaking close! 5) Squeezing in front at traffic light is one thing, when the traffic light turns green, that is when all hell breaks loose.....the bikers in front will take some time to move off because they are packed to closely....the bikers on the side will try to squeeze into the gap left behind by the front bikers moving off.... and you dun dare to move off till the coast is really clear because you dun know which of them will have their bikes stall in front of you because all of their bikes are so poorly maintained! 6) These JB bikes are so typical.... low cc motorcycle, poorly maintained, worn out ultra thin tyres/wheels (I think my mountain bike's tyres are wider )...most of the time pillion another fellow JBian worker..... I got a hair rising encounter to highlight: - when stopping in a turn right/go straight lane.. this bugger came to a stop on my right side and in between me and the right turn only lane. My right turn signal was on. When the light turn green, I started moving slowly forward-right to wait for oncoming traffic to clear before the right turn...guess what happen? this bugger actually tried to accelerate and swerve into my lane to go straight! Lucky I brake in time.... Instead of playing spy cam in bushes or overhead bridges, why can't our TP spend their time managing this JB bikers, speeding and reckless vans/lorries, lorries ferrying FT in ways that our highly paid MPs wouldn't transport their own relatives in.
  3. Another range rover vs bikers: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2691303-range-rover-runs-over-bikers/?p=5577968 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNOyDMzn2bY The real Grand Theft Auto 5 live in New york. Range Rover runs over a group of bikers during an annual ride event Would love to see the reactions here, though i'm neither for the biker nor for the Range Rover.
  4. We were too quick to congratulate ourselves. February's announcement that biker and pillion deaths fell by four to 72 last year sounded like good news for bikers. Yet any comfort the statistics provided has been tragically cut short. The New Paper reported this week that there were 23 bike-related deaths within the first two months of this year. In the same period for 2013 and 2012, the figures were 15 and 19 respectively. We are too aware of the incidents. Social media networks are accident barometers. Members in social media groups enthusiastically inform each other of any motorbike accidents they witness. We show our solidarity by attending the wakes of fallen riders and post wishes online for a speedy recovery to the injured. In addition, seasoned riders post riding tips so that others can avoid finding themselves in similar crash situations. But the big question is, are we listening? Bikers often neglect results from research like the 1981 Hurt Study - which looked into the cause of 900 motorcycle accidents in the Los Angeles area. Researcher Harry Hurt discovered that a lack of attention "to the driving task" was common among motorcyclists who were involved in accidents. A rider has "less than 2 seconds to complete all collision-avoidance action", he wrote. In emergencies, most bikers over-braked, leading to them skidding; or under-braked the front wheel, which leads to bikes colliding at high speeds. More than 30 years later in Singapore, The Hurt Report is a faded memory, and even common-sense advice to pay more attention on the roads appears to be falling on deaf ears. Three common mistakes bikers here commit are: Failure to have proper control, not keeping a lookout and not obeying traffic light signals. This needs to change. While the trend shows a general decline in annual bike-related fatalities since 2004, is it too grand a hope to see the figures fall even more? Are we willing to let these deaths be just a statistic; or will we finally come to realise that more than 23 families have been needlessly devastated? An overall decline in biker road deaths is encouraging, but offers nothing to cheer about. Every death is one too many. MY SAFETY BUBBLE For close to 25 years, I have managed to stay accident-free on our roads by riding within my safety "bubble". I maintain this "bubble" by observing the "2-second rule", which dictates that I keep a safety distance of two seconds behind the vehicle in front. In an emergency situation, I'll have enough time and space to brake safely or swerve. It's also vital to protect the sides of your "bubble". This is done by riding in the centre of a lane, which gives you a sizeable gap from the vehicle next to you. Whenever some other motorist tries to penetrate your "bubble" - whether from the rear, front or side - just speed up or slow down. Source: http://ride.asiaone.com/news/general/story/less-killed-roads-can-bikers-do-better -------------------------------------------- the above was written by a rider who can stay accident-free for 25 years which is an impressive record..he advocated 2 valid points, one which is the 2-second rule & most importantly riding in the centre of a lane which I personally think more than 70% of the riders did not adhere to
  5. (News) 'Hello Kitty biker' dies in crash with lorry MinMin Jun 29th, 10, 08:22 PM #1 (permalink) 'Hello Kitty biker' dies in crash with lorry Boyfriend rides past accident scene and recognises her bike from decals He was puzzled when his girlfriend didn't send him a text message from her mobile phone, as she usually did upon arriving at her work place every day. Then something caught Mr Steven Tan's attention as he was riding his motorcycle to her workplace. There had been a fatal accident on the PIE. Mr Tan, 26, told The New Paper: "I saw my girlfriend's motorbike with all its Hello Kitty decals on the extreme right lane at the opposite side, and I knew it was her. "When I saw that, I stopped my motorcycle, broke down and cried." Mr Tan said a lorry was also in the lane, and a motorcycle helmet belonging to his girlfriend, Miss Candy Kwek, 21, was lying on the road. The accident happened around 10.20am on Monday. Police said the accident involved a lorry and a motorcycle. The Electric New Paper, Singapore - The Electric New Paper News I always notice that many female bikers are not riding with proper footwears. They are always seen with sandals or slippers when they are biking. Dun they realised that it is very dangerous cos when they skid, they will suffer serious injuries on their foot.
  6. Heard abt this recently. Good initiative to reduce fatality on SG roads. http://www.income.com.sg/AboutUs/Releases/2014/Jul01.asp Had seen many possibly young and inexperienced motorcyclist ride dangerously in our roads. Be safe. As motorist, lets watch out/give some space for their presence too.

  9. must be go piss off bikers until bikers risk their lives to jam brake
  10. I have faced this several times. Sometimes I did notice and take precaution, sometimes I didn't notice. When I approach a junction (esp. on left most lane), I always notice that bikes will love to be on my right side, then cut infront of me and make a sharp turn to the left. I have already face this numerous times. At least twice if I don't brake hard confirm buang one. Seriously, I wonder what are these bikers doing. How much time can they save but doing such things and do they know that they are endangering their own lives as well as others (not to mention the trouble caused).
  11. http://www.todayonline.com/Voices/EDC11032...s-at-peak-hours Ban bikes at peak hours Letter from Ho Swee Huat 04:46 AM Mar 26, 2011In 2009, motorcyclists and their pillion riders made up 50.3 per cent of road fatalities. I believed a significant portion of these fatalities must occur on the expressways. Just two months ago, a 29-year-old motorcyclist was pinned under a lorry near the Eng Neo exit of the Pan-Island Expressway. As a motorist, I have seen motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic dangerously. The situation is particularly bad on the Bukit Timah Expressway when bikers from Malaysia swarm the lanes during the morning peak hours. I am not implying that motorcyclists are at fault in road accidents, merely that they have the most to lose if an accident happens. Banning motorcyclists on expressways during morning peak hours could help to mitigate accidents and fatalities. Letter from Ho Swee Huat Is this a good sugguestion? What do you guys think?

  13. every time i see a motorbike....i see a pretty girl as a pillion....
  14. i am not a biker therefore i do not know how they think when they ride. 1)at expressway speeds, a lot of them still dare to lane split between 2 vehicles 2) at slip road filtering to major road, they squeeze to the car's extreme left and suddenly zoom off too many examples to quote. many of them have families and kids etc. riding is dangerous and please bikers, dun tempt fate. it may make you lose your life.
  15. Yesterday evening after my work, i driving home from my workplace which is at ard 9pm plus at woodland. As my car is approaching a High slope whereby my car is picking up speed, A guy who own a Green color Sportbike(more than 600cc) who came from behind high beam me a few time expecting my car to speed up to 100km/h on a slope. At that point of time, as a biker (I'm also owning a bike and car), he can just go to the next lane and overtake me or just follow behind. The biker after high beam me a few time ride to my left shoulder lane, look at me (I just ignore him) and then speed off. As i'm in good mood, i dun wanna make him pay for a new rear bumper or give him a chance to stay in Changi chalet for few weeks or worst come to worst letting him submit his IC to government. I know riding a big sportbike is fun and riding on 1st 2 gear is no fun for a big bike. However, such inmature low brainer will one day be taught a lesson on how to be a discipline rider by other motorist whom is not in good mood . Really endangered his own life and also spoilt my driving mood.
  16. Took delivery of my 600cc, 183kg, 98 BHP, bike last week! Really put a GRIN on my face during the weekend. , Fun factor is very good! So decided to ride yesterday to office. In the morning, at the tampines traffic light junction, i came from behind and stop in between a white altis on my right and a cab on my left. Was half a bike lenght in front of the altis. Altis inch forward to be side by side with me and closed his gap between us. He was so close I can rest on feet on his bumper. I did nothing to upset him. Dont think he exited with me along PIE. Light turn green and he sped off and cut into the centre lane. On the next traffic junction decided to stay behind. Was tempted to let him smell smoke but decided not to. Been riding since 1988. Honestly, not much changes when it comes to the safety of bikers from other road users. I drive too, but when i ride, it's very different, when a roaduser is filtering right, chances are they will let me go first if i am driving but if I am riding, most of the time, they can see me coming, but they just go ahead. Hope I am wrong but there are alot of other incidents from vans to bus to cars and trucks. I am neutral, but let me know, why are there drivers whom feel that bikers deserve less respect?
  17. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singapor...nt.jsp?id=11450 See the picture of the car and the motorcycle. I hope this will serve as good lesson for those who attempt to speed by the car on the left. I personally encountered 2 times involving the motorcycle and me. Taking left bend turn and cutting me on my left. And I only see them when they appear on my front windscreen. Touch-wood, everything is fine in the accident mentioned and in my case too. Not all and everyone will be lucky. Have a safe and merry Xmas.
  18. Hi was wondering if there are bikers here who still ride and drive? I am one of those whom ride and drive still. My is for more practical reasons as wify uses the car more and cannot afford a second car therefore I ride. Any bros or sis here do the same?

From the looks, it was quite sure he was dead already cause non of his friends move or touch him ... they just sat there motionless ... Heard from eye witness n some shouting between the ppl there ... Group of bikers ('beng's age around 30) were going down the road very fast then a Black Modded STI moved up to speed with them ... Somehow the STI suddenly surve towards the right where the victim biker was riding n he had no choice but he scaped the curb n was flung forward hitting the side metal barrier ... He couldn't move when he saw the brother dead on the road ... He just kept shouting for the driver to go n carry his brother off the road ... So sad ... all the friends were crying n cursing themselves ... Well, hope you guys with fast cars ... dun let the emotions go to your head while driving ... even when a bike speed pass you, theres no need to prove anything ... cause if u r hot in the head , will can do anything ... including purposely surving to stop the biker from passing you ... unless you wana live your life in regret n misery ... Well, for bikers, ... you will never win in a car-bike race ... the price to pay is your life ...
