LTA reviewing COE system to improve categorisation of cars

Why you all propose so many things so complex? Do the mcf way, implement COE can only full cash or 70% cash etc, no loan allowed for it. Easy, quick to implement and highly likely to see favorable results 😆 -

LTA reviewing COE system to improve categorisation of cars

Combine the taxi and PHV into the same category to take pressure off the bidding by Grab & Co. Suggest Cat T (for Taxis and PHVs) Since both the taxi uncles and PHVers are running a business, the cost of CoE (Cat T) is taken into account as a depreciation of an asset and used to offset any income from ride hailing services. Similarly for maintenance, fuel, insurance, road tax and other operating costs. There is a valid argument that taxis and PHVers have certain advantages in running a business, which are not available to those who own their ride for family / private use. Taxis are at a steady state of 12.3k units. Not so for PHVers, which continue to grow each year, but at a slower pace in 2026. Suspect the current high Cat A/B/E CoE is a factor --> so this needs to be taken into account. Currently, there's an additional demand of around 4.2k of PHVs on an annual basis (as at June 2026), so LTA can allocate around 350 per month or 175 per bidding cycle to taxis and PHVers. The Cat T CoE for taxis and PHVs is valid for 10 years and cannot be renewed. Because taxi and PHV have their own separate Cat T CoE, it cannot be transferred to existing Cat A, B or E. This will prevent Grab & Co. from monetizing their rides when CoEs goes up. LTA can set the minimum floor price on the Cat T CoE for taxi and PHVers to say $130k. This is to prevent under bidding and maintain the current demand. Any unused Cat T CoE can be re-allocated over to Cat A/B/E in the next quarter bidding cycle. -

Had people newly enter NS tell me they noticed that many of those civil defence, PDF etc traditional pai kah pai chew postings are being occupied by new citizens... of cos i cant see for myself. I ord long long liao. Guess they not fully trusted to be inducted into those crucial combat units. but it means the burden is going to fall more on local borns.

How do you know the overhead compartments are clean? 😅

I also usually bring along a large foldable bag to bring back the clothing/laundry, leaving the hard luggage for snacks etc.

neighborhood school shenanigans. if it happens in RI, then newsworthy... 😁 never heard of this school in my life... Xinmin Secondary School generally ranks around the top 35 to 45 among secondary schools in Singapore. Located in Hougang, its academic entry score based on recent PSLE Posting Groups / Achievement Level (AL) cut-off ranges typically falls around 11 to 13 (or historical Express cut-offs near 8-13 depending on the specific

I was that "people from the 3rd world countries" many years ago, in a foreign country, queuing in a post office with my friend the lao aunty behind us scolded us upside down, almost wanted to hit us with her umbrella 🤭 because my friend was standing beside me instead of behind me this is unacceptable in their queuing etiquette but I guess after years of immigrant influx things could be different now
