My wife follows the e-scooter FB. 

Some guy got his e-scooter impounded for not dismounting and walking across at a traffic light crossing.

 

Lol.

I just find a lot of double standards for cyclists vs e-scooter users.

 

Where got double standard?

 

Legally, all PMV is allowed on private property only.

actually now my thinking change liao.

 

its like a warrior need to cut his arm to save himself

 

our road is like a warrior with poison in his arm ( last time with all the cyclist behaving like kings etc etc etc )

and now worst , poison plus cancer, 

 

we need to do something like warrior cut his arm to save our road,

if  a system is as harsh as this sound ( cutting arm ) we still need to do this.

 

mean while let the cancer spread, so that the brain can see.

Based on her argument, there is no need for punishments for robbery, rapes etc.  The offenders are in the minority, most of us are law abiding.

The whole operation only caught 2. I guess most are law abiding well-behaved e-scooterist. 

Each day I can easily spot a few errant one..

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been acting on recent complaints of errant e-scooter riders who have been riding recklessly at high speed along footpaths and on roads. As part of our enforcement strategy and effort, we have carried out several operations at various locations over the past weeks.

In an operation carried out yesterday (18 Oct) at Upper Aljunied Road, we stopped a rider who had been speeding and riding recklessly on the road. The rider’s e-scooter has been seized and he will be assisting LTA with further investigations.

In another operation carried out on 15 Oct, we had also seized the e-scooter of another rider who had been speeding and riding recklessly on the road, across a zebra crossing at the junction of Yishun Avenue 3 and Yishun Avenue 2.

We take this opportunity to remind all e-scooter riders that it is an offence to use their personal mobility devices on the road and we will not hesitate to take enforcement action against any rider found doing so.

SINGAPORE: Two e-scooter users caught speeding and riding recklessly have had their e-scooters seized, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Oct 19).

The offenders were caught in separate LTA operations on Oct 15 and 18. The first rider was found speeding and riding recklessly on the road and across a zebra crossing at the junction of Yishun Avenue 2 and Avenue 3. The second rider was caught at Upper Aljunied Road.

The LTA said it conducted several operations over the past weeks after receiving complaints of e-scooter users riding recklessly at high speed along footpaths and on roads.

It also reminded e-scooter users not to ride their devices on the road, adding that it will not hesitate to take enforcement action against riders found doing so.

The LTA said earlier this month that more than 700 cyclists, e-bike and e-scooter users have been caught for reckless riding and received warnings.
