Seems like the rule of thumb is human give way to e-scooters lo. If you dont want to give way, then dont blame the e-scooter crash onto you.

 

 

whoever bought the e-bike or e-scooter, the vendor have to include a $500 premium for insurance cover and take down the buyer particular for future renewal

E scooters, hover boards, unicycles are here to stay. And I would say they are a super good tool in our weather here for short distance travel within estates.

 

Stop having its my grandparents road and so I can walk on it anyhow I please mentality.

In my opinion, I find hoverboard and the uniwheels are not that threatening. They don't go as fast as the e-scooter, the weight is lighter. But the e=scooter at the PCN along the waterway where I jogged are dangerous. They can go really fast.

I usually don't give way.

 

It is a game of who has bigger balls.

I had said before that e-scooter is too fast for pedestrian pathway.

From 1 February 2016, only PABs that meet the following revised requirements will be approved and treated like conventional bicycles and exempted from registration with LTA:

 

• The construction of a PAB must be similar to that of a conventional bicycle;
• The PAB can only be powered by an electric source;
• The PAB must comply with European Standard, EN15194, for electric power assisted cycles;
  • The maximum continuous power output of the PAB must not exceed 250 watts;
  • The motor power of the PAB can only cut in when the rider starts to pedal;
  • The motor power of the PAB must be progressively reduced and finally cut off as the bicycle reaches 25km/h, or sooner, if the cyclist stops pedalling;

• The maximum weight of the PAB must not exceed 20kg.

Type Approval and Certification Scheme  

Every new make and model of power-assisted bicycles must obtain type-approval from any of the LTA-authorised vehicle inspection centres. Each approved bicycle must also be affixed with a seal by the inspection centre before it can be sold or used on public roads in Singapore.

 

Road Traffic Act

Please note that it is an offence under the Road Traffic Act for any person to sell or ride power-assisted bicycles that do not comply with the above requirements on public roads.

think allow motorcycles on pedestrian walkways would be safer than all the E bikes or scooters

 

at least we can hear them coming esp those who walk with headphones

OMG!!  What was cyclist doing on Lane 1 in the first place (filtering??)  ?? Driver also one kind cannot see or what??

Sad to see this video. Looks like the driver are not concentrating during driving.

Even cyclist are not in the right lane, He should be given ample space to ride too.

Just be patience and considerate when approaching them. They too have a family.
