  1. I am looking at the Aviva My Retirement Plus. In the illustration when one pays 16K for 10 years then receive an inflation adjusted payout of 1K/mth until 85. What will it happen if the holder decides to stop paying the premium at 5th year when migrate to another country? Surrender with a big loss, or receive a pro-rated payout according to the premium paid and schedule, or what other exit strategy can the holder take? I wonder whether there are any easy and hassle-free retirement savings plan where the buyers can put in money as they wish and the interest increases with the time the $ stays in like the SSB then after retirement the payout also follows some automatic prearranged schedule, and most importantly, removing insurance agents' cut?
  2. During Chinese New Year, we will definitely buy some Chinese New Year goodies, aka snacks, junk food, etc, to serve our relatives and friends when they come to your house for visits during this period, or for won consumption. Some families will buy a lot of these goodies because of sales and some will buy very less, as to not to waste food and money. The common food that people will buy for Chinese New Year are snacks like pineapple tarts, kuek lapis, egg rolls/love letters, Bak kua, packet/canned drinks and other food like canned abalones, dried mushrooms and fish maws, sao la, etc. For those who buy a lot, they will take months to finish, even months after the 2 week Chinese New Year celebrations. For those who buy too little, the food is almost finished even before the first day of Chinese New Year celebration starts. How long do you take to finish your Chinese New Year goodies and food?

  5. I find 3M Performance Finish very good as a car wax. It gives a wet gleaming look and can last for one month, though others say it can last longer. I got my stock from UK and now running out. Appreciate it if anyone can advise where to buy this?
  6. My car loan finished earlier this year. After that, there is just no deduction from my bank account. But there is no official correspondence by the finance company, Hong Leong in my case. Is this the norm? Heard that last time, u also will get your Log card back? But now, it's all electronic right?
  7. SIX years on from his most recent Formula One pole position, Michael Schumacher finally has a car that seems capable of putting him on top in qualifying, and at this weekend

Little Johnny saw his daddy's car pass by the school playground and drove into the woods, he feel curious and ran after his daddy car to find him, he saw daddy with Aunt Jane in a passionate embrace. Mummy, just now...I was at the playground and I saw daddy's car drove into the woods with Aunt Jane. At this point, little johnny mother was busy cooking and said, good boy Johnny, this is such an interesting story, can you save the rest of your story for our dinner time, let us see what funny look on daddy's face when you tell all of us tonight. 9. SEVEN-time world champion Michael Schumacher cut a happier figure after his sixth place at the Spanish Grand Prix than after an abject performance a fortnight ago in Turkey. The 42-year-old had another impressive start moving from tenth up to sixth place and said he was pleased to have held his position but admitted that he had struggled with his car's setup. "We managed to make the most out of our possibilities today which is good news, especially for our guys who I am happy for," he said. "I had a good start. Going right through the middle was tight but fortunately it worked out. Then the race was about holding position from there. "We can be happy with the result but other than that, it was just tricky with oversteer, tyre degradation and poor balance to deal with. "Still we achieved what we could have, and I look forward to going to Monaco (next weekend)," added Schumacher, who earlier in the day had refuted claims he would be retiring. His compatriot and team-mate Nico Rosberg believes a faulty rear wing hampered his chances of a higher-placed finish. Rosberg, son of Finland's former world champion Keke, started and finished seventh. Rosberg lost communication with his team and suffered a problem with his car's drag reduction system that meant he was unable to overtake down the long straight. The 25-year-old, who qualified third in Turkey and had expected to be more competitive during the race, admitted he had been left feeling frustrated. "Unfortunately it was a difficult race for me," Rosberg said. "The radio didn't work so that made it difficult. "Then my rear wing also broke so I didn't have the overtaking system and it made it very difficult to overtake. "Otherwise for sure I could've moved up and I'm sure I would've finished a lot closer to the top because I think I had pretty good pace today." Although Rosberg felt he was held up by Schumacher, he admitted his team was still a long way off the pace of the frontrunners. "I was pretty happy with my car, it felt good." "I think I had good speed, but there's still a lot of work to do because unfortunately I don't think we really managed to close the gap yet."
  10. Haiz, I find that all those values that are supposed to be good such as, honesty, decency, integrity, consideration etc are all liabilities in our modern society. If you have such attributes, people will make use of you and choose you as #1 target to stab in the back. On the other hand, if you have a black heart, do politics, spread rumours, form cliques, carry balls and wayang, you can actually make it quite far.
  11. As topic. I suppose most spray shop can do the paint, but I need the shop to be able to take out the panel safely (ala no damage & scratches) . I am asking as my panel has worn & would like to restored the look, & my attempt to take out the panel result in a few more wriggles to the panel as the radio ganna stuck to the panel & the frame can't be taken out.... 13. Home > Breaking News > Singapore > Story Durai out of jail By Judith Tan T.T. DURAI was released from jail on Monday morning after serving two-thirds of his three-month sentence for using a fake invoice to cheat the charity into paying $20,000 to an interior designer friend. He walked out of the Queenstown Remand Prison at 10.43 am, dressed in a white shirt and greyish dark pants. He seemed to have lost quite a bit of weight and his hair has turned a greyish white. He was greeted by his son and was quickly whisked away by a burly man into a waiting Hyundai Tucson car. Durai, 59, started his jail term on June 10, and was released after he was given a one-third remission of his sentence, most probably for 'good behaviour'. His journey to jail dated to July 2005 when a defamation suit he lost led to inquiries into the affairs of Singapore's biggest charity. Durai and the NKF board resigned en masse, and various government agencies went over the charity's books with a fine tooth comb. He lost a civil suit filed by the NKF's new leadership in February last year, and was ordered to pay $4 million back in damages. He has paid $1.4 million so far. Criminal charges were brought against him in 2006. His appeal against his conviction and sentence was turned down. http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNew...ory_266840.html fwah.... Queenstown really transform a person. He looks like 70+ then 59.

  16. Was really a great weekend for me as I finally received the long awaited Jetseal 109 and Wet mirror finish. The autopians had pretty positive feedbacks on both products and I had to pester Paul quite some time before he finally sent some to me. some reviews from autopia: http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-product...ghlight=jetseal http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-product...ghlight=jetseal Car used for testing is my black colt, condition pretty well maintained, and my patner's 6mths old silver coloured Impreza TS which is rather neglected. Colt: 1) Wash n clay 2) Rotary with white Hi-gloss LC pad and PO106ff 3) PC with grey LC pad to apply WMF 4) PC with blue LC pad for Jetseal TS: 1) Wash n clay 2) PC with orange LC pad and IP 3) PC with grey LC pad to apply WMF 4) PC with blue LC pad for Jetseal Personal feeling: The WMF and Jetseal combo looks better on a light coloured or strong metallic based paintwork as it products a clean, wet, crisp and shiny look. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, esp for solid colours like ferrari reds or blacks where a darkening of the colours will improve the depth and gloss. That said, both cars had only one layer over them and I intend to apply the WMF and Smart ONE over the colt while the TS will get a 2nd and 3rd coating of the WMF and JS, just for the fun of it and see where it leads to. Enuf of talk, pics coming up shortly.....
