  4. I'm looking for a car mount for New Ipad, mainly to keep the kids in the rear occupied during long trips. There are windscreen mounts, headrest mounts and floor mounts. Not sure which is more secure. Anyone with experience or recommendation on which is better for my needs?
  5. from Yahoo : North Korea unveils "surprisingly impressive" rival to iPad North Korea has unveiled its own rival to Apple’s iPad Air - a svelte touchscreen filled with apps, and described by one tourist as “surprisingly impressive”. There are, of course, a few differences between the 7-inch Samjiyon and Apple’s latest - the main one being that you can’t access the internet. It’s also only available to a select few - North Korea’s ruling elite. Naturally, though, a few models find their way onto the black market - and offer a peek into live inside the secretive dictatorship. Jeremy Blum of the South China Morning Post says, “It is not difficult to find one in electronics stores if you are looking in the right places - North Korea Tech, which we got the images of the device from, has reviews from tourists.” Oddly, tourists seem to be able to freely take the machine out of the country - one of North Korea Tech’s customers said he declared it on an official form. The machine can’t access “normal” websites, but can access the country’s intranet, offering official news, TV, and educational apps such as “Grand People’s Study House”. The tablet costs a mere £155, and - refreshingly - has few adverts, and comes with many pre-loaded apps, including 141 ebooks about North Korea. for more stories, link: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/north-korea-unveils--surprisingly-impressive--rival-to-ipad-123511065.html#0sPU6Js Their iPad (Samjiyon) name machiam Hong Kong joss company "Sam Chee Heong" (3 joss sticks) ...
  6. I'm currently using the Iphone4. Thinking of getting either one of the above. Current owner, please give your views. Thank you
  7. opinion needed. already have Iphone with internet connection on the go. occupation does not require ipad to facilitate business purpose. am thinking of buying an ipad just for playing games and internet surfinng at home (even though already have laptop with mobile broadband connection - just that it is more convenient to surf using Ipad). and to do that, to buy a 2nd sim card from singtel at $5 charge per month. do you think this is not a recommended move? also, does it mean the Ipad that i buy from Singtel will not be at discounted price, since there will be no new line sign-up?
  8. hi all, can recommend ipad app developer? budget -+ 15k. thanks
  9. I am looking for a 7" tablet for better portability over my IPad 3 and has narrowed down to the IPad mini or Galaxy Tab 7.7. The latter is older with a price around $528 vs $618 for the mini. Display wise, the tab seem better than the mini with its beautiful Amoled. Design wise both are about as slim and roughly equal size. Which would you choose? Forumers who had used one or both, pls share your experience.
  10. Anyone change their ipad 2 screen before? How much and where can I change it?
  11. Anyone know what's the ballpark figure to repair/replace ipad 2 with a cracked screen? All the repair websites don't state price... If too expensive might as well buy new one....
  12. Is it possible to play a movie from Ipad? I mean convert from DVD to ipad. Anyone?
  13. Anyone using it can share if it's any good?
  14. Any bro here managed to snatch this great Groupon deal? iPad mini 32GB for only $348. Those who paid the full price must be very upset. By the way, it appears that the device is not sold by Apple. The local agent (not named in the Groupon ad) is located at 6 Harper Road Unit 02-01 Leong Huat Building.
  15. I'm wondering if the above mentioned tablets are selling cheaper in hong kong? According to Apple store, iPAD mini is cheaper in hk... How about Nexus 7? Anyone can advise?
  16. I am selling the above which I got as a gift. Is brand new (only took out of the box to check and see) as it was a gift from a friend but I had no use for it as I already had another cover. Letting go at S$28 with collection point in the west or Somerset. Managed to get a pic of it in the link below.
  17. It's not quite what we expected, but Apple has just introduced us to a new, 4th generation iPad at its event in San Jose, California today. It's essentially a hardware refresh for Apple's 3rd gen slate, as it packs new A6X silicon with quad-core graphics that the company claims provides double the performance of the old A5X chip. The new iPad also gets dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, expanded LTE compatibility (including Sprint and KDDI), a 720p FaceTime camera on the front and the new image processor first seen in the iPhone 5. Of course, it also gets the reversible Lightning port that debuted on on the iPhone, and will be available in both black and white. Pricing stays the same as its predecessor, with a 16GB WiFi version for $499 and a 16GB model with cellular data on board costs $629. Interested? You'll be able to pick one up through Apple's online and brick and mortar stores or Apple Authorized Resellers in a host of countries -- listed in the PR after the break -- on November 2nd. 22. I am looking for a stylus where I can write notes onto the Ipad. Saw an ad about a patented "Apen" which comes with some apps but has a small device to attach to the ipad before it can be used. However not too impressed with the $150 price tag, which is about 3-4 times other simple stylus. Anyone has experience or any recommendations?

  25. Just get a Bluetooth enabled car HU. Wednesday, May 09, 2012 The China Post/Asia News Network Taiwan drivers to face fines for using electronic devices while driving Car drivers who use hand-held mobile phones or tablet computers while driving will be fined NT$3,000 (S$130), and motorcyclists NT$1,000 in the near future, according to an amendment to a road traffic safety regulation passed by the Legislative Yuan, yesterday. The amendment to the Road Traffic Management and Punishment Code will see drivers using mobile phones, computers or similar devices fined NT$3,000. Those who fumble with such smart gadgets while waiting at red lights are also subject to the code and will be fined similarly, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) Deputy Minister Yeh Kuang-shih said. Under the amendment, those who wish to answer phone calls either need to use headsets or park their vehicles first. While the Legislature cleared the amendment, lawmakers voiced concerns about the new regulation's enforceability. The MOTC replied that its plans to reach a more practical approach, which could include sporadic inspections. Another amendment cleared by the Legislature raised fines for car drivers who race past level crossings from NT$6,000 and NT$12,000 to between NT$15,000 and NT$60,000. The MOTC said the current plan is to pass supplementary amendments by early September, after which the announcement of the implementation date of the amended Road Traffic Code will be up to the Executive Yuan.
