The new Audi A4 - now with mild-hybrid tech!

The Audi A4 has received a major update! So much so in fact, that our reviewers seem to be a bit confused as to if it actually is an all new model! Why is that so? Join us as we look through the significant changes all throughout the exterior of the new Audi A4! Oh, and bid a warm welcome to Jeremy from Torque magazine, now also joining us for these video reviews! And what about the cabin? I think Julian sums up the interior of the Audi A4 quite well with this one statement. The rotary knob is now gone and there's also a new infotainment system. See what we think about it in the video review! But here's the important part: Just how does the new mild-hybrid tech work? I'll just leave you with this little teaser courtesy of Jeremy... You'll just have to watch the full video review of the Audi A4 to find out!
  3. Trapped at home? Why not tour Audi's Ingolstadt plant and watch the work in the bodyshop of the new Audi A3, or observe how the A4 gets assembled, all from the comfort of your living room! Experienced guides will narrate the online tour live from a studio and explain the production processes, and yes, the 20-minute livestream will be tailored according to the individual interests of the international participants. So get ready to ask away! Simply book a timeslot here, grab a cool one and watch away those circuit breaker blues. The AudiStream service is offered free of charge. I'll look for something that's not Audi next. Promise.
  4. A recent video uploaded on SG Road Vigilante of an Audi A4 using red and blue flashing lights to impersonate law enforcement vehicles has gone viral. The “less than 24-hour old” video has since gone viral and has about 250 shares (as of present). Here’s the video if you haven’t already seen it Video from SG Road Vigilante YouTube Colours of the law At about 19 seconds into the video, we see an Audi A4 light up with red and blue flashing lights to overtake or get past the car that was recording the video. A string of vulgarities can be heard coming from the driver. This is forgivable because ANYBODY would be pissed off if they had to scoot over and give way to a “police vehicle” only to find out that it was all a big fat lie. Screenshot from SG Road Vigilante YouTube The video then shifts to the POV of the dash cam. The footage doesn’t show the red and blue flashing lights tho, but it does show where the incident took place – Terminal 4, Changi Airport. A weak chase ensues The driver then decides to chase the Audi down (which was uncalled for but ego probably kicked in). Screenshot from SG Road Vigilante YouTube However, they enter a single merging lane, and there’s a Hyundai Avante between them. For some reason, the Audi slows down at this single lane for a couple of seconds and the vulgarity spewing driver wastes no time in honking and high beaming to signal his displeasure. It’s a good thing that there was the Hyundai between them though or things might have escalated even further. The Audi seems like it wanted to stop but decided not to in the end and drove off. Angry driver tails for a while and the video cuts off. Two wrongs, no right We did some research and under no circumstance should you be using red and blue flashing lights unless you are from law enforcement. Image by Singtech.com.sg However, vulgarity spewing driver was obviously looking for a fight of sorts with all that aggression. Just keep calm lah! Why so angry? The video is evidence enough for him to kena by the real police what? Here’s what Singaporeans think Image from SG Road Vigilante Facebook This guy sounds like he’s got it all figured out.
  5. I am currently considering b/w these 3 models-> BMW 320i, E200CGI or an audi A4. Does anyone know which brand gives the best fuel consumption?? For servicing, i know all will be expensive.. but is there a difference in cost b/w these 3?? (Generally, which will be more expensive in servicing?) Thanks
  6. Dear Forummers, Apologies if there is already a thread for asking such questions, but I need some help. I am looking at purchasing a used Audi A4 1.8 L and the price quoted by the dealer is 68800. The car is a single owner car with 66K mileage on the Odo and OMV of 36,062 and COE of 43290. I am wondering if the price quoted is reasonable. I also saw a similar car quoted at 60,800 but the mileage on the ODO for the car is 107,000 so am thinking of getting the one with the lower mileage. Any help or feedback would be appreciated. Mods: Please move this thread / merge the thread in the appropriate topic if there is already a topic/thread existing on this topic. Cheers

  9. Hi everyone, Am currently in the process of looking for a first used car. Of the cars that I have viewed (mostly sourced on SGCM), I have had one sent for AA testing and pre-purchase evaluation. As I have relatively limited knowledge of car mechanics and repairs, would like to appeal for help and feedback regarding the report. Model: Audi A4 1.8T FSI MU S-LINE Registration: May 2009 Mileage: 120,000+ Previous owners: 1 Dealer claims - no major accidents, stock colour, servicing already done before initial viewing No declarations with regards to major servicing/repairs required beforehand Am looking for opinions on whether this vehicle appears roadworthy/worth purchasing (+/- negotiations or additional servicing) based on the report, or if there are any major red flags etc. Thanks in advance. Any constructive comments or suggestions would also be very much appreciated!

    Audi A4 from 159K

Just saw the ad for the A4 1.8T for 159K. Seems cheaper then a Passat. Wonder how much lower can the other distributor go down to.
  11. Hi guys, anybody is driving audi a4 B8? What is the review so far and how has the car been like? Is the car reliable? Any issues with the Multitronic gearbox? Or any mechanical or electronic failures? So far i been driving Mitsubishi Lancer GLX CS3, a 2006 model i bought as a 3yr old second hand in 2009. Driving for 5 years+. Zero problem. Not sure if Audi will be able to give such a problem free experience too?? comments and review appreciated! Cheers everybody!

    First look: 2013 Audi S4

[extract] Audi is rather well known for producing performance orientated sedans. In fact, the company have a performance version of all their sedan models. Audi has been aggressively releasing new models of their cars ever since a revamp in styling recently. And the new Audi S4 gets the new styling treatment too. Audi
  13. Ever experience pouring diesel into your petrol powered car or pouring petrol into your diesel powered car? If you have then you would know that it is an expensive mistake that may cost you an arm and a leg if you started the engine and let it run or the slightly cheaper option of towing your car to the nearest workshop and draining your car's fuel tank of the wrong fuel. If you haven't experienced it, all the better for you. Anyway, the folks at Audi have taken a proactive step and have decided to fit a new fuel filler system to some of its models that will help stop people from wrongly fueling their Audis. Audi have announced that new fuel filler necks will be fitted on future A4, A5 and Q5 models (including the 'S' models of each variant) as a first step and those in Europe that order the above mentioned models at the time this article was written would get the new filler system on their new cars. The new fuel filler necks will have a system or flap that will only open for the larger sized diesel nozzle and will keep its flap shut for the smaller petrol type fuel nozzle. It also seems that this is a no cost upgrade for the Audi cars mentioned above. So future customers will not get charged for this 'upgrade'. This is obviously a very good thing to consumers who already have to deal with rising fuel prices and other cost of living issues. And to those that ask whether you can pour diesel into a petrol Audi, you most probably cannot, as the fuel filler neck in a petrol car is small and the diesel nozzle would not fit. One more thing that hasn't been announced is the fact on the next Audi models which will have this upgrade or whether all this would filter down to all other Volkswagen-Audi Group diesel vehicles.

Why Volkswagens do not impress me

[extract] I was sitting in a chair at the reception area of a dance academy waiting for my daughter to finish her dance lesson when I realized why Volkswagen never rocked my boat, the GTI included. As I wrote elsewhere a few years ago, the reason I thought the GTI was not a fulfilling car to own was that the Mark5 Volkswagen looked too much like a mini MPV instead of a stonking hot hatch. When you parked it beside to its cousins the Audi A3 or the Skoda Octavia or even the larger sized A4, you
